Many of my clients ask me about the ResMed AirMini when they’re looking for a travel CPAP. The AirMini is incredibly popular and for good reason.

It's compact, travel-friendly, quiet, and has multiple power options. Plus, it weighs only 0.66 lb and is so small you can slip it into your purse.

Despite its compact size, the AirMini comes with three therapy modes as well as convenient data tracking via the ResMed AirMini app.

The best part? You don't sacrifice comfort for portability with the AirMini. With EPR, AutoRamp, SmartStart/Stop, it has the same comfort features as the AirSense 10 and 11 — both significantly bigger.

ResMed has really created a CPAP machine that makes traveling less stressful. The AirMini’s waterless humidification system (HumidX) saves on space and weight, so you can breathe warm, moist air without the need for a bulky humidifier. No more packing distilled water or spending your vacation trying to find some!

The AirMini is also FAA-approved for in-flight use so you can sleep better on those long flights. Just remember to disconnect Bluetooth before takeoff.

In terms of noise, the AirMini is not as quiet as a full-sized CPAP because there is less room for soundproofing. But at 30 dBA, it's quieter than the sound of you snoring.

Prescription Required

Is the AirMini travel CPAP loud?

The AirMini has a noise level of around 30 dBA, which is comparable to some home CPAP machines. However, travel machines are generally louder than home CPAPs because their smaller size means there is less room for sound dampening materials. They also have smaller motors that need to work harder to generate the same pressure.

Is the ResMed AirMini FAA-approved?

Yes, the AirMini is FAA-approved for in-flight use. However, to avoid any interruptions to your travel plans, we recommend checking your airline's requirements for in-flight CPAP use prior to boarding.

Does the ResMed AirMini come with a heated humidifier?

The AirMini features waterless humidification using ResMed's HumidX and HumidX Plus cartridges, eliminating the need for a heated humidifier.

Can I access my sleep therapy data with the AirMini?

Yes, the AirMini connects to ResMed's AirMini app via Bluetooth, allowing you to adjust settings, track your progress, and receive feedback on your therapy.

Can I use the AirMini while traveling internationally?

Yes, the AirMini is dual voltage (100-240V) and can be used internationally without the need for a voltage converter/transformer. Depending on your country of destination, you may need a travel plug adapter.

How do I power the AirMini while traveling or camping?

The AirMini can be powered via the cigarette lighter in your car, boat or RV using the AirMini DC Converter. The AirMini can also be powered by lithium-ion CPAP batteries (see question below for more information).

Does the ResMed AirMini come with a battery?

The ResMed AirMini does not include a battery. However, it is compatible with several external battery options, such as the Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite CPAP Battery and the Zopec Explore Mini CPAP Battery.

What masks are compatible with the ResMed AirMini?

The AirMini is compatible with the AirFit F20, AirTouch F20, AirFit F30, AirFit N20, AirTouch N20, AirFit N30, and AirFit P10 masks. You also have the option of using any CPAP mask with the AirMini if you select the compatibility pack.

What is the AirMini compatibility pack?

The compatibility pack is designed to let you use any CPAP mask with the AirMini. It includes an AirMini Tubing Connector Adapter and an universal non-heated hose.

How do I clean and maintain my ResMed AirMini travel CPAP?

Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a slightly damp cloth when dirty and replace filters every 3 to 6 months.

Do I need the AirMini app to use the AirMini?

The AirMini app is not required to use the AirMini as users can turn the AirMini on/off using the Start/Stop button on the device itself. However, the app is needed to make setting adjustments and to view your sleep data.

How do I know if my smartphone supports the AirMini app?

The AirMini app is compatible with iOS (version 10.2 or later) and Android (version 5.0 or later).

Does the AirMini have a Ramp feature?

Yes, the AirMini includes a Ramp feature in addition to AutoRamp. Ramp starts therapy at a lower pressure and gradually increases pressure over the set Ramp Time to let you fall asleep easier.

Q. Does the unit require a smart phone, cellular or Wi-Fi service to run ?

A. You do not need to a cellphone or computer to run the machine unless you need to make changes to your settings. The machine has a modem built in if you decide to connect it to the airmini app or if your Dr needs to download your data off the airview software.

A. No it is not. It needs to be plugged in to work. There are CPAP batteries you can purchase to use with the CPAP though.

Q. I have a Resmed Airsense 11... will my tubing fit the mini??? How often does insurance cover a new unit?? And will they cover a mini?? Will they cover the replacement parts for 2 units?? I travel overnight weekly and honestly most weeks I don't take my unit because it's a pain to travel with!!! A mini would be wonderful but expensive if insurance doesn't cover...*sigh

A. If you have a heated hose, then no it will not fit the Airmini. You'll need an adapter and a standard hose, or a compatible setup pack if you need humidification. (best to call us so we can explain this thoroughly)

About insurance, you would need to contact your insurance regarding coverage or reimbursement first before placing an order with us as we cannot bill insurance directly.

Q. I read somewhere that you will accept international prescriptions, but can not ship outside of the US. How do we place an order and get it delivered, if one is outside of the US? Would it be ok to use a friend's address? Thank you.

Subject: Love the portability
I purchased this unit for travel. It definitely delivers on being smaller than a standard CPAP unit.

If I could change one thing, it would be the face mask for this unit. It is one large piece and while traveling I have been careful how it is packed so that the head piece is not broken.

I just used my AirMini for the first time during a 3 day trip this week. It's so much more convenient and easy to pack than my full size CPAP. I didn't use the HumidX because my P10 AirMini setup pack hasn't arrived yet. But even without it, I got good sleep each night. Very glad I finally pulled the trigger and got the AirMini.

Subject: Quieted than expected
Other reviews implied this would be noisy enough to be annoying. Not so. It is 2 feet from my head and I can't hear it. I do hear more air noise from my mask, but I improved that by changing the starting pressure to 4, which was easy. It is a tiny device that does every thing my big unit does, and the smart phone ap is superior. My insurance didn't cover this, but I'm happy with the purchase.

In the past, I always carried a Dreamstation with me when traveling. Even for short trips of just one day, I brought it along for a good night's sleep, but it was quite cumbersome due to its large size. Then, I purchased an AirMini! Its compact size allows me to simply put it in my backpack when I go out. And at airport security checks, I don’t even need to take it out, unlike with the Dreamstation, where I had to remove it during checks.
