ResMed AirMini AutoSet Travel CPAP Machine

Designed for travel without compromise, the ResMed AirMini AutoSet Travel CPAP packs all the comfort features of your home CPAP into a size no bigger than your smartphone.

At just 0.66 lbs (299.4 g) and 5.4" x 3.3" x 2.1" (13.7 cm x 8.4 cm x 5.3 cm), this compact device weighs less than a paperback and frees up precious luggage space for other travel essentials.

With three key comfort features, the AirMini makes CPAP therapy a seamless experience — whether you’re on a long-haul flight or at home napping:

  • Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) - lowers pressure when you exhale for more natural breathing
  • AutoRamp - gradually increases pressure to your prescribed settings after you fall asleep
  • SmartStart/Stop - lets you initiate therapy simply by breathing into your mask and stop it by removing the mask

Upgrade your travel experience by getting convenient accessories for your AirMini.

For humidification without using water, use the device with the compact AirMini HumidX and HumidX Plus Cartridges. These cartridges recycle heat and moisture from your exhaled breath to soothe dry airways.

For extra protection, zip up your travel CPAP in the padded AirMini Travel Case before packing. Or organize your entire sleep apnea routine with the AirMini Premium Carry Bag, which features separate compartments for your CPAP machine and supplies.

Review by Pam Schmidt RRT, RCP

Registered Respiratory Therapist for RespShop

Many of my clients ask me about the ResMed AirMini when they’re looking for a travel CPAP. The AirMini is incredibly popular and for good reason.

It's compact, travel-friendly, quiet, and has multiple power options. Plus, it weighs only 0.66 lb and is so small you can slip it into your purse.

Despite its compact size, the AirMini comes with three therapy modes as well as convenient data tracking via the ResMed AirMini app.

The best part? You don't sacrifice comfort for portability with the AirMini. With EPR, AutoRamp, SmartStart/Stop, it has the same comfort features as the AirSense 10 and 11 — both significantly bigger.

ResMed has really created a CPAP machine that makes traveling less stressful. The AirMini’s waterless humidification system (HumidX) saves on space and weight, so you can breathe warm, moist air without the need for a bulky humidifier. No more packing distilled water or spending your vacation trying to find some!

The AirMini is also FAA-approved for in-flight use so you can sleep better on those long flights. Just remember to disconnect Bluetooth before takeoff.

In terms of noise, the AirMini is not as quiet as a full-sized CPAP because there is less room for soundproofing. But at 30 dBA, it's quieter than the sound of you snoring.

The AirMini requires an AC power source to operate, but battery and DC power options are available. The AirMini DC Converter plugs into a cigarette lighter socket so you can power the machine from your car, boat or RV.

If you're looking to go off-grid, the AirMini works with a lot of third party lithium batteries/power packs. Some of these batteries can even be charged via solar power.

The ResMed AirMini AutoSet Travel CPAP is truly a great travel companion. Give it a try and see how it enhances your travel experience!

Prescription Required

The AirMini has a noise level of around 30 dBA, which is comparable to some home CPAP machines. However, travel machines are generally louder than home CPAPs because their smaller size means there is less room for sound dampening materials. They also have smaller motors that need to work harder to generate the same pressure.

If you find this an issue we suggest packing some earplugs and watching our video below for tips to reduce noise.

Watch as we test our noise reducing tips!

Yes, the AirMini is FAA-approved for in-flight use. However, to avoid any interruptions to your travel plans, we recommend checking your airline's requirements for in-flight CPAP use prior to boarding.
The AirMini features waterless humidification using ResMed's HumidX and HumidX Plus cartridges, eliminating the need for a heated humidifier.
Yes, the AirMini connects to ResMed's AirMini app via Bluetooth, allowing you to adjust settings, track your progress, and receive feedback on your therapy.
Yes, the AirMini is dual voltage (100-240V) and can be used internationally without the need for a voltage converter/transformer. Depending on your country of destination, you may need a travel plug adapter.
The AirMini can be powered via the cigarette lighter in your car, boat or RV using the AirMini DC Converter. The AirMini can also be powered by lithium-ion CPAP batteries (see question below for more information).
The ResMed AirMini does not include a battery. However, it is compatible with several external battery options, such as the Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite CPAP Battery and the Zopec Explore Mini CPAP Battery.
The AirMini is compatible with the AirFit F20, AirTouch F20, AirFit F30, AirFit N20, AirTouch N20, AirFit N30, and AirFit P10 masks. You also have the option of using any CPAP mask with the AirMini if you select the compatibility pack.
The compatibility pack is designed to let you use any CPAP mask with the AirMini. It includes an AirMini Tubing Connector Adapter and an universal non-heated hose.
Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a slightly damp cloth when dirty and replace filters every 3 to 6 months.
The AirMini app is not required to use the AirMini as users can turn the AirMini on/off using the Start/Stop button on the device itself. However, the app is needed to make setting adjustments and to view your sleep data.
The AirMini app is compatible with iOS (version 10.2 or later) and Android (version 5.0 or later).
Yes, the AirMini includes a Ramp feature in addition to AutoRamp. Ramp starts therapy at a lower pressure and gradually increases pressure over the set Ramp Time to let you fall asleep easier.
Refer to the video below for details on configuring your AirMini, setting up the AirMini app and tips to reduce noise.

To adjust therapy and comfort settings for your AirMini, you'll need the AirMini app. The video below provides a step-by-step guide on using the app to change these settings.

Q. I use a Mirage FX mask and cushion. Is this compatible with the travel machine? I realize that I will have to purchase compatible tubing and filters. Thank you
A. Yes, it is. Just make sure to get the Airmini CPAP tubing and a standard hose, which already comes when you purchase the Airmini with the compatibility pack. Feel free to give us a chat on our website OR call us at 1-866-936-3754 for faster assistance.
Q. The tubing that connects to resmed air mini travel cpap looks like same connection as the heated tubing that connects to my resmed air sense 10. Will that tubing fit the travel mini?
A. No, it will not work. None of the heated tubings will work with the Airmini. Only standard tubings or the Airmini tubing with its own compatible mask adapter. Feel free to give us a chat on our website OR call us at 1-866-936-3754 for faster assistance.
Q. Do you have any tips for where to place this CPAP at night while in use? I don't want it to fall on the floor!
A. Hello!
Yes, we do recommend purchasing the mount system where the machine safe from falling. Here is the link to the mount : https://www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/comfort-cleaning/resmed-airmini-auto-travel-cpap-machine-mount-system-p-1166.html

Or you can place the device inside your night stand drawer and leave the drawer open for the machine to be able to get adequate airflow. If you do not have a drawer, we recommend to place it on top of a small box on the ground.
Q. can you supply ResMed AirMiniAuto travel Cpap machine to new Zealand. Do I presume that the cost $880 is American currency. thankyou Coral.
A. Hello, I am sorry we cannot ship this product outside the USA. Thank you
Q. Can I rent this machine?
A. Feel free to give us a chat on our website OR call us at 1-866-936-3754 for faster assistance.
Q. What else do I need to purchase for the mini? Hose & mask? And what is its power source?
A. If you would like to use any mask that is not that F20, N20, F30, P10 or N20 then you will need the compatibility pack which includes a tubing adapter as well as the standard tubing. Otherwise you can bundle it with one of the setup packs which will also include the mask.
Q. I purchased a Resmed Airmini travel cpap and I love it. I want to take it to Europe. What do I need?
A. The Airmini has a built in converter that will automatically adjust to the voltage difference. You only need a plug adapter as you would for all of your electronics. Have a great trip!
Q. I use the tubing adapter and a standard hose, what are my options for humidification?
A. You can use this HME : https://www.respshop.com/cpap-masks/parts/othe-parts/breas-z1-heat-and-moisture-exchanger-p-763.html OR this one: https://www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/filters/transcend-micro-cpap-airmist-hme-kit-p-1769.html
Q. If I'm travelling internationally, do I need a power converter?
A. The power conversion will happen within the cable. The power brick allows for 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. What you will need is a wall adapter to physically plug the machine in to the wall. They are available here: https://www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/battery-power/medili-universal-travel-charger-adapter-plug-p-156.html
Q. Does the Airmini come with an SD card for me to be able to download the compliance report ?
A. Unfortunately it does not. You will need to download the app (Airmini) or add your machine to Airview (provider software) to get your compliance report.

I purchased this unit for travel. It definitely delivers on being smaller than a standard CPAP unit.

If I could change one thing, it would be the face mask for this unit. It is one large piece and while traveling I have been careful how it is packed so that the head piece is not broken.

I just used my AirMini for the first time during a 3 day trip this week. It's so much more convenient and easy to pack than my full size CPAP. I didn't use the HumidX because my P10 AirMini setup pack hasn't arrived yet. But even without it, I got good sleep each night. Very glad I finally pulled the trigger and got the AirMini.

Other reviews implied this would be noisy enough to be annoying. Not so. It is 2 feet from my head and I can't hear it. I do hear more air noise from my mask, but I improved that by changing the starting pressure to 4, which was easy. It is a tiny device that does every thing my big unit does, and the smart phone ap is superior. My insurance didn't cover this, but I'm happy with the purchase.

The Airmini is a great travel device. Very quiet and easy to setup and use. The lack of humidification is the only draw back, but what do you expect for a device small enough to put in your back pocket. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a smaller device for traveling.

In the past, I always carried a Dreamstation with me when traveling. Even for short trips of just one day, I brought it along for a good night's sleep, but it was quite cumbersome due to its large size. Then, I purchased an AirMini! Its compact size allows me to simply put it in my backpack when I go out. And at airport security checks, I don’t even need to take it out, unlike with the Dreamstation, where I had to remove it during checks.

Subject: Resmed AirMini travel CPAP
I called Respshop after I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. My doctor told me I had severe obstructive sleep apnea and needed to use CPAP therapy in order to control the apneas that caused me to stop breathing. My doctor gave me a prescription for an Auto Cpap with pressures of 6cmH20 - 15cmH20. I was lucky to speak to a very informative customer service representative who is a Certified Polysomnographic technician! I was impressed to be able to speak to someone educated in the field of sleep. Respshop walked me through the different CPAPs that would be compatible to my prescribed pressures. I learned about all the pros and cons and settings of each. When Respshop explained the Remote Data Compliance service to me, I knew I wanted to purchase a CPAP with a built in modem. To be able to have this knowledgeable support available to me was very reassuring. Respshop will be able to view my data, evaluate and advise me about the data and even make changes to my settings remotely. I cannot wait to receive my new CPAP. Thank you Respshop.

Subject: Review of ResMed Air Mini purchaed from RespShop
Dear RespShop,
I love my new Air Mini! It works great and accomplishes everything my AirSense 10 does. I would like to also applaud RespShop, the vendor, whom I purchased it from. From the get-go I was greeted by phone with the utmost courtesy and patience in answer all of my questions. Laura, one of the professionals on staff went out of her way to make me feel comfortable with the purchase and outlined all of the equipment I would need. I am most grateful for her input. The machine arrived when it said it would and there was also no shipping charge. Hurray!
Please continue doing what you do best. You obviously are the "CPAP experts"!

NOT TRUE AT ALL!
If you are not used to the sound of your breathing in the tube; that is all the sound that I get.
It also just takes a little adaptor to use with my SoClean
I hope that Philips makes good on replacing my dream machine but I am very happy with this. And will have this for traveling or just keep using it at home. Would appreciate an app that would keep track of use time. I need this to keep up CDL certification!

I love this product, it's so small and awesome. It fits in a neat carry case (separate purchase) and can go with me anywhere. I use it at home mainly and on the odd occasion that I travel. Such a nice size, after years of lugging around the full size machine, the mini was a pleasure to travel with. A little louder but didn’t bother my wife and I at all, worth the trade-off and therapy felt great too, resulting in typical AHI. Used 10 days and humidx cartridge was acceptable for humidification .as well. I use airfit p10 with the mini and on my airsense 10 autoset at home.

Got the AirMini after having to check a bag in order to travel with the DreamStation I started using just after Covid shutdown. It comfortably fits in my backpack with my laptop, iPad, snacks, etc. Had no trouble setting it up initially, including the app. I liked the app tour that demonstrated adjusting the pressure. It is a little louder, but the trade off for travel is well worth it. I didn't try the F20 HumidX because it was plenty humid. That might make a difference in the winter. I was a bit annoyed about incompatible tubing but decided to try a different mask rather than an adaptor because I wasn't overly happy with my current one. I expect to do try experiments and settle on one mask I can use with both machines.

I really like the size and the weight of the unit.. I was very concerned about the humidifier function and am pleased with how it works so far. I was not pleased that you do not have trial/rental units. This is a very expensive product that I was reluctant to order and not be able to return it if I did not like the way it operated.only because it was on sale and I'm getting ready to do some extensive traveling did I take the risk.

It requiresThis is good, small device and that is only thing about being marked as travel. It required special tubing, special tubing requires special mask (only few compatible) but biggest flaw is power adapter - its only US. I would expect from travel device to have universal plug or at least to be easy changed to different plug. Big and tall adapter also tend to fall out from old/overused sockets. I use Resmed devices and they are very good and reliable but it looks like this is their first travel version. Next time designers should take it to worldwide travel before they release it.

I absolutely love this machine. It is small enough to hold in your hand but gives all the support needed for a great nights rest. I like the app controls and as always the tracking functionality from the app. I was extremely dissapointed that my preferred mask style and model will not work with this unit. When you are used to something, it is difficult to adjust to a different style and design mask. The machine itself is silent when in use. However, the headgear/masks that work with this unit are much louder on inspiration than my home mask and machine. My rating is midline for this product because of its non-versatility and noise level of the masks. Otherwise, the machine is great.

I don't like the fact that I have to use my smart phone to operate the machine. A simple on/off and mechanical ability to adjust the settings would be preferable. The smartphone requirement is intrusive, and an invasion of privacy. I have not taken the machine out of the box, and I am considering returning it and finding one that does not require such elaborate means to use the device.

Hello Mark,

I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your purchase. If you would prefer another method to access your data, we do have other options! The Transcend Micro might be a better fit, as it requires a computer, not an application, to access your data. Did not like it at all. Too noisy. Returned it and will purchase a non-travel type of CPAP machine that is not so noisy.

The travel machines certainly do not have the same insulation as the 'stationary' machines so the noise level is higher. For use periodically, when travelling, the size and convenience outweighs the sound for others. We all have different tolerances. We will be happy to help you with a non travel cpap order. Have you seen the NEW Dreamstation 2 that just came out today?
