Philips Respironics DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask
The DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask from Philips Respironics pairs a softer, lighter nasal pillow cushion with the innovative DreamWear mask system, combining comfort, innovation, and flexibility. This incredibly compact mask features an open-face frame, an updated slip-resistant DreamWear Headgear with Arms and a top-of-the-head hose connection that provides greater freedom of movement.
The modular design of the DreamWear mask frame lets you easily convert your nasal pillow mask to a full face or under-the-nose nasal mask, giving you more options for comfort. The flexible silicone frame minimizes facial contact, opening up your field of view and decreasing the likelihood of skin irritation. A 360-degree swivel elbow, located in the center of the frame, allows for a top-of-the-head hose connection that enhances your sleeping freedom.
All-new, all-silicone pillows
Manufactured entirely from soft, smooth silicone, the DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow Cushion delivers an even gentler touch inside and under the nose than the original DreamWear Gel Nasal Pillows. The new pillow design fits and seals even better, with less shifting and less friction in the nose.
Using data compiled from a vast database of 3D facial scans, Philips Respironics chose to expand its silicone pillow sizing selection by adding a 4th pillow size (Medium-Wide). With Small, Medium, Wide, and Medium-Wide choices, everyone can find a pillow size to fit their unique facial features.
Unobtrusive, comfortable design
The DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow mask comes with all the existing features in the Philips Respironics DreamWear line for sleep apnea therapy. The Silicone Pillow mask uses the DreamWear’s hollow silicone frame with a swivel elbow located on top of the frame at the crown of the head to connect to the CPAP circuit.
The top-of-the-head connection keeps the CPAP tubing out of your and your partner’s way all night long. The frame is compressible, so side-sleeping and stomach sleeping will not compromise therapy.
The frame has an open-face design that doesn’t block your field of view so you can read and watch TV in bed. The silicone frame comes in three sizes for a truly customized fit.
Stable, slip-resistant fit
The DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow CPAP mask comes with the DreamWear Headgear with Arms, the latest enhanced version of the DreamWear headgear. The DreamWear Headgear with Arms incorporates an eyeglass-like fit above the ears. The arms run from the silicone frame, over the ears, and to the head strap.
The curved design of the eyeglass arms prevents the mask from slipping during the night. In a Philips Respironics study, users reported better quality of sleep and more mask stability when using the DreamWear Headgear with Arms versus the original DreamWear headgear.
Sizing and Fitting
The DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask comes in three frame sizes (Small, Medium, and Large), and the nasal pillows come in four sizes (Small, Medium, Large, and Medium-Wide). Careful sizing of both the nasal pillows and the frame is key to reaping the full benefits of this mask.
The silicone tip of the pillows should rest inside the nostrils. The circular silicone rim at the base of the tips should rest entirely outside the nostrils.
The FitPack includes a Medium frame and nasal pillows in all four sizes. The Medium frame fits most people. If your nasal pillows are the right size but they tend to move away from your nose, you may need a smaller frame. Conversely, if they are the right size but push up against your nose, you may need a larger frame.
To get the best fit for comfortable and effective CPAP therapy:
- First, insert the nasal pillows in your nose.
- Next, position the frame on the top of your head.
- Pull the headgear over your head. The fabric headgear strap should rest on the back of your head.
- Tighten or loosen the headgear by adjusting the length of the tabs. The elbow connector should sit on the top of your head.
Care of the Mask
Recommended cleaning frequency:
- Daily: nasal pillow, frame, elbow, and tubing quick release.
- Weekly: headgear, arms, and fabric wraps.
Cleaning process:
- Wash in warm soapy water, using mild soap.
- Rinse thoroughly in clean (drinkable quality) water.
- All parts should be air-dried out of direct sunlight.
Important: Do not clean your mask with products containing alcohol, fragrances, antibacterial agents, antiseptics, bleach, chlorine, or moisturizers. Do not soak any parts for more than 10 minutes.
FAQ
I have a DreamWear Gel Pillow mask. Can I use the new all-silicone nasal pillows with it?
Yes, you sure can! The new all-silicone nasal pillows will snap right into your existing Philips Respironics DreamWear frame. If you do not have the DreamWear Headgear with Arms, you can use the mask with the earlier DreamWear fabric headgear.
If you use the under-the-nose mask, you can also give the silicone nasal pillows a try without needing to purchase anything but the nasal pillows.
Have the DreamWear Gel Pillows been discontinued?
Yes, the DreamWear Gel Pillows have been discontinued by Philips Respironics. The DreamWear Gel Pillows mask is still available on our website, for the time being.
Are there any tips to make sure I get all the parts oriented correctly?
The Philips Respironics logo should face out on the back of the headgear. The headgear arms are marked R and L for right and left. The R & L stamps should face out. When connecting the nasal pillows to the frame, line up the arrows on the pillow cushion with the arrow on the frame.
Can I use the silicone nasal pillows if I have the DreamWear Full Face mask?
Yes, but you will need to purchase the DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillows and the DreamWear Headgear with Arms.
Recommended If You Have Facial Hair
Nasal Pillow masks do not anchor on top of the lip and are an easy solution for beard lovers who struggle with mask leaks. With a compact frame and minimal headgear, the DreamWear Nasal Pillow CPAP mask reduces contact points on the face. Less contact means less potential for leaks, making the DreamWear Nasal Pillow mask a great choice for a beard-loving person.
When shopping for a CPAP mask to wear with facial hair, don’t fall into the trap of sizing up. Use the size guide and select the size that fits your facial structure. Over-sizing results in leaks, frustration, and discomfort.
Respshop Expert Review
Everything about the Philips Respironics DreamWear mask system screams user-friendly. The new DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow mask is no different. By adding a Medium-Wide nasal pillow size option, Philips Respironics has closed the gap on the most common complaint about the DreamWear Gel Pillows which was the lack of an intermediary size between Medium and Large.
The DreamWear Silicone Pillow mask takes the soft, unobstructed design you’ve come to expect with the DreamWear masks and makes it even softer, more stable, and more comfortable.
Yet the mask retains one of our favorite aspects of the DreamWear system – its modularity. How convenient that current DreamWear Gel Pillow users can upgrade their CPAP mask just by buying a new cushion! With very little effort, you can even swap in an under-the-nose mask or an over-the-mouth mask, giving you the flexibility to meet any changing sleep needs.

I have been using for years the original gel pillows then the switch to silicone but the latest version the pillows are nearly flat and don’t seal well and restrict air flow and we hate them why they had to ruin a great product.
I am sorry this did not work the way you intended. Please call our office and we will help with your next step. Thank you
Looks great. Unfortunately this is something I need ASAP. I selected 2 day shipping but in reality it is going to take over 5 days to get to my house. Very disappointing. Should update the website to reflect realistic delivery times. These are medical items and are needed. I would have bought elsewhere if I had know but it has already shipped.
I am so sorry to hear that shipping will take longer then was promised by the shipping company. With Covid demands it is proving very difficult to predict shipping times and in most cases they arrive on time. Please give us a call at 866 -936-3754 and we can help you with this issue. I’ve been a long time user of Phillips Respironics masks and in particular the nasal cushion DreamWear. Recently however, I decided I wanted to give nasal pillows a try instead, since cushions are a little obtrusive. I was happy to discover there was a DreamWear nasal pillow variant and so I ordered it. After a few weeks now of using this mask, I have nothing but good things to say about it.
Pillow: As mentioned, I purchased this mask because I wanted to give nasal pillows a try. I was a little worried how they wouudl feel compared to the cushions I was used to but so far it’s great. It sits firmly “in” my nose without being painful or irritating. I’m able to get a good seal and so I haven’t had any leakage issues. I ordered the package with all 4 pillow sizes which I think is a good idea for anyone, even if you think you know your size already.
Headgear: The design was relatively new to me since it’s kind of like eye glasses where it sits above the ears. Admittedly, the first night I had with it, it was a little uncomfortable because the part above the ears is naked silicon. I found out however that the box came with cushions to wrap around them and after I put those on, it felt much much better. Overall the frame sits well on my head and I was able to adjust it easily.
Other notes: I’ve been a long time user of DreamWear masks because of the dual tube design. It makes side sleeping very comfortable and I’ve had no issues sleeping on my side with this mask either. Don’t worry about compressing one tube when you lie on one side, as the other tube will deliver plenty of air. Swiveling connector on the top of the head is great too, it’s allowed me to keep the tube completely off my body.
Overall, the DreamWear nasal pillow version lives up to the high standards set by the DreamWear line. I like the new design and have no qualms about making this my new primary mask going forward.
One night with this new headgear caused my head to be sore for over 2 weeks!! I was sent this new mask in place of their old version. Seemed ok till I started using it. There is a raised area where the new hard plastic extenders connect to the headgear about the size of a dime. One night while sleeping on my side, that raised area pressed into the side of my head. In the morning, it felt like my head was in a one-sided vise! My pillow is firm, but this pain was unprecedented and long lasting. My head was very sore in that area for at least two weeks, and still is sore to the touch for a while. It was like sleeping with a rock against the side of my head. What were they thinking when they changed their design? Obviously, they didn't test it out very thoroughly with side sleepers. And I'm told that the old headgear is not being made anymore. I'll be looking for a new company to get my cpap equipment, if they don't wise up and go back to the original. Thanks for nothing.
Subject: Impressed
I am new to CPAP and originally started with the Amara full face mask after some research online. I didn't realize at the time how bulky and uncomfortable full face masks are for me. Those masks gripped my face so tightly, they just weren't for me.
I switched to the Dreamwear nasal pillow mask and they have made such a big difference in my sleep. I used to get about 6 hours of sleep a night due to how many times I would wake up from my full face mask. It was just a very uncomfortable experience all around and I felt tired every morning.
The Dreamwear nasal pillow mask is the first time I realized that it isn't normal to not be able to get good sleep on CPAP. The first night I used my new mask, I slept like a baby. I got a full 8 hours of sleep and felt refreshed for the first time in months in the morning. My mask was easy to set up and use, and it was comfortable. I'll never be going back, I think this is the perfect mask for me.
Subject: Perfect for Women with long hair
My problem: I have long hair and CPAP headgear slips off the back of my head and moves my headgear & nasal pillows in the middle of the night... causing me to wake up and have to adjust them back into place, resulting in interrupted sleep. I've tried both the ResMed & Phillips nasal pillow headgears... the Phillips is by far better for keeping my nasal pillows on at night. With ResMed, the headgear kept sliding off at night making me wake up having to re-adjust (pillows & headgear) multiple times. While I like the ResMed nasal pillows better, I feel I don't need to adjust the Phillips headgear any where near as many times as I did with the ResMed. The Philips straps on the back & the design of the headgear keeps my headgear in place at night. I find my adjustments come after I wash my straps and dont "tighten' the straps - that's a simple re-adjustment and I'm good to go.
In short, this is a great mask that fits my needs perfectly. I don’t have huge brand preferences so when I was looking for a new mask, I just looked around at whatever seemed popular. The dreamwear has a lot of reviews and the design looked interesting so I took a shot.
Comfort is good with the mask. Doesn’t feel heavy or painful to wear for a whole night. I like the hose attaching on top so I can keep the hose out of the way. Pillow fits in my nose well, doesn’t cause any irritation. Seal is excellent, haven’t had any leaks.
Adjustment to my head was issue free as well. It fits well and holds on through the night. There are different frame sizes so be sure to use the size gauge before you order. I like the dual airway design since it lets me sleep on my side. I can also wear my reading glasses pretty easily with this mask.
I was a bit skeptical about this updated mask after reading the reviews on here. But I can safely say that I personally like the new cushions a lot. For reference, I used the new cushions with my old Dreamwear frame.
I think the updated cushions are comfortable. I will admit it took a few days to get used to it but now, I prefer it over my old one. They are definitely unobtrusive like my old ones and make it easier for me to use my phone before I go to bed.
Also, I sleep on my side mainly but I haven't had any problems from doing so.
But I will say I don't really see a major difference between my old nasal pillows and the ones I use now. So, I'm not sure if the old one is still available but if it is, I would just pick whichever one you're more used to / has a better price. They both function well and are comfortable.
Subject: Hard to breathe
I just started using a CPAP and have been trying out different masks. This mask in particular I found hard to breathe in, I was almost gasping for air after 10-20 minutes of use. It's hard to exhale and that's even when adjusting the EPR. So far I have found that I am more comfortable wearing a full face mask.

I am not exactly sure what you mean but this mask will work with a ResMed machine (the ResMed Airmini is the exception).
If I order the Dreamwear newest headset will that work with my Respshop CPAP Machine? Can you get the under the nose cushions that fit under the nose not the nostril pads?
You can get it with under the nose cushions, follow this link:
