Can I use the AirSense 11 on the plane?
The AirSense 11 is FAA-approved for in-flight use. You can find the air travel compliance letter under “Technical Data.”

Please note that airline policies regarding in-flight CPAP use can vary. We recommend familiarizing yourself with your airline’s on-board CPAP use policy prior to traveling.

Does the AirSense 11 ClimateLineAir heated tubing work with any ResMed machine?
The AirSense 11 ClimateLineAir heated tubing is designed exclusively for the AirSense 11. It is not compatible with ResMed AirSense 10 or S9 models.

How do I adjust pressure on the AirSense 11?
Pressure settings can only be adjusted on the AirSense 11 through the AirSense 11 clinical menu. Please consult your doctor before making changes to your therapy pressure as adjustments may affect the effectiveness of your treatment.

How do I clean the AirSense 11?
Cleaning the AirSense 11 involves changing the filter and washing the water chamber and tubing.

  1. Disposable filter - found on the back of the machine behind the filter cover. Discard and replace once a month or more frequently if needed. The filter keeps the air you breathe clean and protects the motor from dust buildup.

  2. Tubing (heated and nonheated) - wash once a week by soaking in warm, soapy water (use a mild detergent). Scrub the inside of the hose with a hose brush and rinse well under running water. Hang the tubing over a shower curtain rod to air dry.

  3. Water chamber (standard) - wash once a week with warm water and mild soap. Use a soft bristle brush to clean the inside of the chamber and air dry away from direct sunlight. Please note that the standard water chamber is not dishwasher safe. However, the cleanable water chamber is top-rack dishwasher safe.

How often should I replace my AirSense 11 supplies?
The AirSense 11 tubing (heated and nonheated) and water chamber should be replaced every 6 months. The filter (standard and hypoallergenic) should be replaced every 6 months or earlier if you have pets.

Does the AirSense 11 automatically adjust pressure?
Yes, when the AirSense 11 is set on AutoSet/AutoSet For Her mode, it will automatically adjust pressure throughout the night. Pressure adjustments will be limited within the set minimum and maximum pressure settings.

Does the AirSense 11 come with a SD card?
No, the AirSense 11 does not come with a SD card. The AirSense 11 sends summary and detailed therapy data to providers using cellular communication, so a SD card is not required for data transmission.

The machine's internal storage can hold up to 365 days of summary data without a SD card. However, detailed data storage will require a SD card (sold separately). 

Do I have to use the ResMed myAir app with the AirSense 11? 
The myAir app complements your sleep therapy by providing resources to help you stay on track. It also offers a convenient way for you to track your progress. However, the AirSense 11 is fully functional by itself and the app is not required to use the machine.  

What are the differences between the ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP and the new AirSense 11?
The ResMed AirSense 11 offers improved Bluetooth connectivity and over-the-air software updates, as well as an AutoSet for Her mode. It also features full touchscreen navigation and a smaller, more streamlined design compared to the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet. 

Where is the AirSense 11 made?
The machine motor is made in Australia or Singapore. The power supply and travel bag are made in China.

Does the AirSense 11 AutoSet send data to my doctor? 
Yes, the AirSense 11 AutoSet sends data to your doctor using its built-in cellular modem. Your doctor can also make changes to your machine settings remotely. The AirSense 11 does not send data via Wi-Fi.

Can I use a pulse oximeter with the AirSense 11?
Yes, the AirSense 11 is compatible with the NONIN WristOx2 Oximeter 3150 with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

When I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, I was given a prescription but little information. I was underwhelmed about using therapy and I felt completely unsupported. I called Respshop to order the Resmed Airsense 11. I certainly was not expecting to speak to such an informed customer service agent. I was pleasantly surprised to know I was speaking to an experience professional. I learned so much in that initial conversation that I actually started to look forward to using therapy. I did not hesitate to add the Remote Data compliance Service to my order when she explained this supportive service option. The Resmed Airsense 11 has a built in modem so Respshop could connect it to a professional program and be able to review my sleep data. Amazing. Now I receive regular reports with explanations of the data. I now understand compliance, effects of a mask leak, AHI and my auto pressures. I was able to have confidence in the therapy when I understood the data. It is obvious by both the data, the expert review and by how much better I am feeling. When you purchase the Resmed Airsense 11 Cpap, get the remote data compliance service as well!

Subject: Water reservoir is an issue
I had used AirSense 10 for some years and rented this AirSense 11 to try. I worked great and I could feel that the pressure changed smoothly. However the water reservoir is a BIG problem here, it ran out of water within 5-6 hours. I tried filling water as high as possible, still in would not last until the morning. I will wait for another model that is fixed this issue.

Hello, thank you for your feedback regarding this Resmed device. We will forward this information to the Manufacturer. The water reservoir is a bit smaller than the Airsense 10 device when ResMed made the Airsense 11 overall more compact.

I am totally dissatisfied with Airsense 11 autoset, before making the purchase I contacted Respshop through the chat to ask some questions about the team and the most important was the place of manufacture of the machine, to which they told me that it was made in Australia. They sent a photo confirming the country of manufacture and as it appears in the photos of the Respshop virtual store, to my bad and great surprise when I received the equipment I realized that the equipment is Made in Singapore, which I did not buy in my Country Lima Peru South America because by medical indication, the doctor recommended that the equipment be made in the USA or Made in Australia
even in the purchase order where they indicate the products that have been purchased they specify Made in Australia
I feel totally cheated by the Respshop company since they offer a Made in Australia product and when they deliver it to the customer it is Made in Singapore, if they had been honest with the manufacturing site I would have bought the equipment in my country avoiding spending a large additional sum of money for the cost that has caused me that a person brings me the equipment and the taxes that have to be paid in my country for entering with a machine like that
I have been encouraged to write this comment because a company cannot be allowed to offer a Made in Australia product and when they send the equipment it is Made in Singapore I go to the fact of deception which as a client I cannot allow
I have reported my case this morning via chat and they tell me that they will hardly find a Made in Australia team, so why offer something that they do not have, I am still waiting for a response to see if in the new group of teams that arrive they verify if are there any Made in Australia
Unfortunately, I live very far away and they have caused me a big problem since the equipment that I received in Peru has returned, since I have to change it, I will have to find a person who can do me the favor of returning the equipment, obviously they will charge me for doing that favor
And it makes me sad to go through this situation because the lady with whom I chatted was very kind, she even helped me make the purchase and today I contacted a very kind lady to give my complaint and I am waiting for her to help me find the best solution

They now have manufacturing sites in Australia, France, Singapore, and the US. Singapore is a very technologically advanced country and ahead of most countries around the world. Please pass this message along to your physician, as they most likely wanted you to purchase a ResMed product and only mentioned Australia because that is where they originated. We unfortunately cannot choose which manufacturing site they come from, but please rest assured that each manufacturing site has strict quality control.

Subject: Nice machine
So far so good. Lower profile than my S10 and is just as quiet. No complaints on how it operates and the LCD touch screen is a nice addition. Some people have complained about the hose connection being straight out of the machine but I haven't had a problem with it. On the downside, the chamber for the water is a bit awkward as it is easy to spill water out of it while carrying it back to the machine. For that the review looses a star. I did take me several tries to get the S11 to connect via Bluetooth.

I treat patients with Sleep Apnea. The AirSense 11 is now the gold standard.Respironics has been recalled and the machines they make are to replace the recalled devices. I cannot remember the last time I received an electronics device made in the USA. There is another company, Luna, but would stay away from these machines. They lack many of the functions of ResMed and are unreliable. They do not have a modem so you will need to find an MD that is able to monitor and set up the machine.

I've only used it 4 nights so far, but, really like it. It was easy to setup and use. The sleep results are immediate on the app after disconnecting my mask in the morning. The humidifier tub lasts me all night, which for me is 11 hours, as I have several medical condidtions that require additional rest. I especially like the touch scree, so easy to use and see the information and settings you need to adjust. I have moderate obstructive sleep apnea. It's a very nice machine.

I am enjoying having the wifi ability on my new Airsense 11 so I can use the ap MyAir. Sometimes I see my AHI be higher than 5. Should I be concerned?

Answer
Every once in a while you may see the AHI score be higher than 5. This could be caused by a large mask leak. You want to see the AHI be less than 5 more often than not. To really know what is happening with your data a compliance report would be beneficial. We have a remote data compliance service to assist you with this.

Unfortunately not. However the water should not run out after one night unless you did not top up the water in your chamber or your mask is leaking excessively. If there is a leak of 20/lpm or more this may be why your water chamber is running out of water.

The water tank runs dry every night, (humidity set to auto). Worse refilling is a challenge, and often machine will not work unless the tank is slammed into the CPAP. This often forces water into the tubing, causing a gurgle. Now I have to dismantle and drain the tubing. Huge design flaw. Any fixes available? A larger water tank is clearly needed

I have a few questions- is your mask fitting well? You will go through more water when you have a leak.

You can also increase your tube temperature if you are using a heated hose to assist with the gurgle!

Does anybody know which setting or settings on the Resmed 11 allows for optimal ease of exhaling? I've adjusted all the settings repeatedly and I can't seems to make an adjustment which allows me to exhale easily. I've tried an array of different masks but they all feel basically the same. The pressure seems okay when I'm in a testing mode but at night when I'm sleeping is when I notice that exhaling is troublesome. I realize that there should be a bit of pressure but I don't think it should actually wake me up. I've tried the CPAP setting and the Autoset Setting. Help!

If you are new to CPAP, awakening due to high pressure is normal. However, if you are finding that your max pressure is too high, contact your provider to see if this can be lowered. Have your provider also look into the EPR setting, this is a comfort feature to assist with ease of exhalation. Ensure your mask setting is showing the correct mask type, if you are using a full face mask but the setting is showing nasal pillows, the pressure flow will feel different and uncomfortable.

How can I find out what the best pressure setting is for me? I have Airsense 11 Auto as of a month ago. I get gurgling in the hose. I also get mask refit notices but the nose pillows fit fine and I don't hear any leaking!

Your machine will be able to advise you of your 95th percentile pressure and events per hour to see if you are being adequately treated. Gurgling can mean there is water in your tube, either your humidifier setting needs to be lowered or you will benefit from a heated hose.

My new air sense 11 model is set at 4 but I don't sleep at night because it is way too powerful, I have to tighten my mask so much that it hurts but air still seems to come out of it, I have a medium mask and the air makes my cheeks blow up if that makes any sense. I have not slept thru since I received my machine, thought maybe I could lower the 4 to a 3 to see if it will help but it goes no lower than 4.

4 is the lowest setting a CPAP machine can go. You do not want to have your mask too tight as that can cause pressure sores and issues breathing. My suggestion would be to take your mask into the bathroom and fit it comfortably. Ensure when fastening that all sides are even. Take your machine out of your bedroom setting and maybe set it up in the living room or spare room where you can watch tv or read a book. Once comfortable plug your hose to your mask and turn your machine on and relax. If you are using a nasal mask breathe in and out from your nose comfortably. If you have an issue breathing out of your nose, switch to a full face mask if you need to open your mouth to breathe.
