New CPAP user, ResMed AirSense 11

After snoring in a major way for ~ 40 years (and my poor wife subjected to the noise) I'm now using CPAP - ResMed AirSense 11, with nose "cushion" mask ResMed N20. Total 16 nights so far.
For 15+ years, I had a variety of treatments: Pillar implants, Nite Lase ablation, mouth taping, etc., and then a series of very aggressive oral appliances which attempted to hold my throat open. Some but not a lot of success.
I had heard and read from so many people that they just couldn't stand CPAP, so resisted until recently.
I had an overnight sleep study just before getting CPAP prescribed - AHI 12 in general, but 36 during REM sleep!!
From the first few minutes of the first night, all has been tolerable or better. I've gotten used to it very quickly.
My AHI is now under 2.0 every night, and related values in synch.
I'm now intensely studying / examing all related data that's available.
If you haven't, please check out getting an SD card that plugs into the Resmed machine and allows analysis using software on your computer. Start with OSCAR. May want to also use AirWayLab. Shows every breath and all details.
Note: I haven't gottent tangled in the hose at all. It's just the right length to loop over the post on our headboard. I did try a few pillows but came back to my original pillow.
It took me a bit to get a routine for cleaning, etc. Pay close attention to all the instructions / guidelines on this.
After resisting CPAP for years, I'm now fully committed to using it optimally! I'm convinced it's now saving my life every night. Happy to share any info with anyone interested.

No case for protecting the card outside of machine

My dr asks me to bring the card to appts. A small storage case would be very useful for keeping the card protected when transporting.

Works Flawlessly

This SD card can be inserted in the machine and the data it collected can be used with the OSCAR program to generate curves with a lot of data that you can't get with the my Air app

Being able to review machine data about my CPAP is important

Being able to review machine data about my CPAP is important. You can’t get the detail out of the machine without the SD card.

Didn’t fit my AirCurve 10 Machine

Very disappointed that it did not fit my AirCurve 10 machine, when it was supposed to have worked :(

Although my new AirSense 11 has a modem built in. Having an SD Card in your machine is vital if you want to see more detailed breath by breath, nightly data. There are third party utilities, like "Oscar" and "SleepHQ" that can show you this data on your computer. Having this detailed information can help you make more informed decisions regarding your sleep therapy. My card also came with a nice carrier, to allow you to safely carry it to your doctor or sleep tech if needed.

Works great with my machine, easy to use and have no issues at all

It works. It's an SD card. This should have been included at no cost with the machine, and I'm marking it down because of this.

I purchased this when I purchased my machine. Glad to get everything I need in my 1st purchase.

Can this disk be sed with a ResMed 9 unit?

RespShop

Hi Terry,

Yes, the SD card can also be used with the ResMed S9 unit. It is compatible as long as the device supports standard SD cards for data storage.

Just insert the card into the SD slot on the machine and it will record your therapy data normally.

If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know. We’re happy to help!

Does the ResMed Aircurve 10 let me know when the SD card is full?

RespShop

Yes it will give you a notification. It can hold up to a years worth of data. After that, it will get wiped and refresh with new data. If you want to save your old data, create a directory on your PC and copy the SD card's contents to the new directory. Format the SD card, and it will be like is brand new. It will set up the required files when you insert it back into the CPAP.

What card reader can be used to access data from this SD card on an iPhone to use with an app like SleepHQ? Some readers don’t seem to recognize this particular card as a data source.

RespShop

We do sell a card reader called the SD/Micro SD Card Reader for CPAP Machines, https://www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/software/sd-micro-sd-card-reader-p-1753.html. This should work for you!

What card reader can be used to access data from this SD card on an iPhone? The reader I’ve purchased won’t recognize it.

RespShop

Hi there! The data will not be able to transfer onto an iPhone. You will need to view the data on a specific software. You can download a free software called OSCAR- Open Source CPAP Analysis Reporter. We have a video on it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gTqW_Q1SNA&t=39s&ab_channel=RespShop

To another question you answered:
“Hello it does not come with a card because it has the wifi and US cellular option.”
Isn’t that a mistake to say anything about wifi? How does wifi come into play?
(MyAir on a device connects via Bluetooth. Can the AirSense 11 send info to MyAir via Bluetooth, then since the device with the MyAir app connects to WiFi that usage info can get to the provider - all that happening where there is zero Cell Data signal? Would be cool for my sitch.)

RespShop

The MyAir app works with the Airsense 11 and some models of the Airsense 10. (Not the 37382 model). MyAir allows you to send the data to whomever you wish. The built in modem allows for wireless data collection when set up for this service.
