Wisp Nasal Mask by Philips Respironics
The Philips Respironics Wisp Nasal Mask is a minimalist and lightweight nasal CPAP mask designed for comfort and performance. Unlike many nasal CPAP masks with bulky plastic frames that are difficult to clean, the Wisp features a lightweight frame that rests on the cheeks and wraps around the sides of the face. This compact frame offers support without adding bulk.
One of the advantages of the Wisp's frame design is its open field of view which makes this mask an excellent choice for users who enjoy reading or watching TV before bed. Additionally, the lack of a cumbersome forehead support also reduces bulkiness in front of the face and minimizes feelings of claustrophobia.
The Wisp is also a great alternative to nasal pillow masks as many CPAP users enjoy the minimalistic design of nasal pillow masks but find that nasal pillows irritate their nostrils. The Wisp Nasal Mask, on the other hand, offers the same compact design as a nasal pillow mask without the discomfort of nasal pillows.
The Wisp Nasal Mask is a great option for CPAP users looking for a lightweight mask that does not sacrifice performance for comfort. With minimal contact points, a clear line of sight, and a compact design, the Philips Respironics Wisp Nasal Mask is a comfortable and dependable choice that won't disturb your bedtime routine.
If you're looking to make some improvements to your sleep apnea therapy, give the Wisp Nasal CPAP Mask a try and experience the difference for yourself!
Soft Yet Secure Seal
The Wisp Nasal Mask is an excellent option for anyone seeking a mask that is both effective and comfortable. The mask features a light and soft silicone nasal cushion which doesn't feel heavy or cumbersome on your face. Despite its small size, the nasal cushion has no problem creating a tight seal around the nose, optimizing your sleep apnea therapy to make sure you're getting the most out of your treatment.
The nasal cushion's soft silicone material helps deliver performance without sacrificing comfort. You'll hardly feel like you're wearing a mask at all with how light and soft the Wisp feels! But don't let its softness fool you - the Wisp mask still performs very well. You can rest easy knowing that this mask will help you breathe more easily and comfortably throughout the night.
The Wisp nasal cushion comes in four sizes - Petite, Small/Medium, Large and Extra Large - to ensure the best fit and seal. Available as a Fit Pack, the Wisp comes with S/M, L and XL cushions which reduces any sizing frustrations. The Youth version also comes with three different cushion sizes - Petite, Small/Medium and Large.
The Wisp Nasal Mask is available in two different frame styles - fabric or silicone. Users can choose between the clear silicone frame or the reversible fabric frame which has a soft side and a silky side.
The Wisp features an adjustable headgear with magnetic clips for quick and easy application and removal. The magnetic clips guide the headgear straps to the mask frame, which allows for a secure and comfortable fit without the need for complicated clips or buckles. They also let users put on and take off the mask without having to undo the headgear.
Moreover, the headgear has a five-point adjustable system which provides a secure and personalized fit throughout the night. Users can adjust mask fit by tightening or loosening the Velcro straps on the crown of the head and on the sides of the face near the eyes and jaw. With this many adjustment points, there's no need to worry about the mask slipping or shifting as you sleep.
Note: The Wisp headgear can also be used with non-magnetic headgear clips. If you have a metallic medical implant, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, etc., we recommend choosing a mask that does not use magnetic clips.
Freedom to Move
The Wisp Nasal Mask comes with a lightweight and flexible short tube at the front of the mask. This tube connects to your CPAP hose for greater freedom of movement at night. The tube is designed with a 360 degree swivel at the end where it connects to the CPAP hose.
This swivel lets you toss and turn without fear of dislodging your mask so you can sleep more comfortably. To connect the short tube to your CPAP hose, simply push the swivel end into your hose. Disconnect the short tube by pulling it out of the CPAP hose.

Introduction to the Wisp Nasal Mask
Is there a standard sized cushion available for the Wisp Nasal Mask?
The Wisp Nasal Mask comes with three sizes of nasal cushions: Small/Medium, Large and Extra Large. The Small/Medium cushion is considered the "standard size" as most users find the Small/Medium cushion to be a good fit.
Can the Wisp Nasal Mask be used with any CPAP machine?
The Wisp Nasal Mask is compatible with all CPAP machines except for the ResMed AirMini Travel CPAP.
How do I fit the Wisp Nasal Mask?
- Select the cushion size that fits your nose comfortably. If the cushion feels tight around the nose or covers the nostrils, it is too small.
- Place the cushion over your nose and slip the headgear over your head. The mask should be centered on your face with the cushion creating a seal around the edge of your nostrils.
- Connect the headgear clips (magnetic/nonmagnetic) to the frame.
- Adjust all five headgear straps to tighten or loosen the mask as needed. The straps should be snug but not uncomfortable. If you can't slide a finger under each strap, your mask is too tight.
- Once your mask is comfortable, connect it to your CPAP machine and lie down. Turn on the CPAP and adjust your mask fit as needed if there are leaks.
How do I clean the Wisp Nasal Mask?
Weekly: headgear, elbow with short tubing, frame
Daily: nasal cushion
- Disassemble the mask.
- Soak each mask part in warm water with mild soap.
- Scrub the vent holes on the elbow with a soft bristle brush.
- Rinse each part thoroughly under running tap water and squeeze out excess water from the headgear.
- Air dry all parts away from direct sunlight.
Can I use the Wisp Nasal Mask if I have a beard?
The Philips Respironics Wisp Nasal Mask may be able to provide an adequate seal with facial hair, however, nasal pillows generally provide a better seal than nasal masks when facial hair is involved.
How often should I replace the cushion on the Wisp Nasal Mask?
The Wisp nasal cushion should be replaced every two to three months, or when it becomes worn or damaged. If your mask leak has increased without you making any adjustments to the headgear, it's possible that your cushion is no longer creating an adequate seal and needs to be replaced.
