CPAP and BiPAP Bacterial Filter by Sunset Healthcare
This Bacterial Filter from Sunset Healthcare significantly reduces the bacteria and viral content in your CPAP or BiPAP airflow. It is compatible with CPAP and BiPAP machines of all brands and connects to all standard 22mm OD CPAP tubing. It can be used with or without a heated humidifier.
This filter is not washable and should be replaced weekly or when dirty. If this bacterial filter is connected to a machine with a heated humidifier, it will require more frequent replacement, typically every three days. This is because the filter becomes saturated with moisture from the humidifier.
Usage Instructions
Connect one end of the bacterial filter to your machine and the other end to your hose. If you are using a heated tubing, place the bacterial filter between your CPAP mask and heated tubing.
We are not able to speak for Philips as we are not Philips. Please contact Philips at 877-907-7508. Thank you.

I came across the CPAP Bacterial Filter on the Respshop website, and it was during the COVID-19 lockdowns. It was also a time of CPAP recalls for my CPAP for retrofitting, and I am now a regular user of this bacterial filter, and will no longer do without it. The cost is minimal compared to keeping the air I breather at night clean. It is so important to have valuable products like this to maintain your health and proper sleep patterns.
This filter has been realy good. It helps to prevent any airborn bacteria or other debris from entering my lungs while sleeping.
I was interested in increased health precautions with my Philips CPAP Machine, and the Sunset Healthcare CPAP Bacteria Filter filled the bill for me. It is well designed, easy to install, and works well. I now regularly purchase the bacteria filter in combination with my other CPAP Supplies.
People need to read and understand that Phillips (the manufacturer of the machines) and not Respshop is to blame for this issue. The filter is super easy to install. 1) Remove tubing from the machine 2) Put the larger end of the filter end where tubing usually goes 3) Attach hose to smaller end
I bought this to catch any particles that may get blown through the air tube on my dreamstation CPAP due to the recall. It worked just fine. Just make sure you get the right size for your tubing. It did not reduce the airflow and it gave me a greater sense of security while waiting for the replacement machine came in.
If you are caught in the recall if Phillips CPAPS this is the way to go until your machine is replaced. Filters work great. Each one is good for about a week. Very surprised how much it catches. I’ll continue using with my new CPAP.
Folks, don't ask this company to send you free filters because the PHILIPS company recalled their C-Pap machine. This respshop is not a Philips company. They only offer filters to those who's doctor recommended them as a temporary fix. Respshop is separate from Philips. They can help you by selling filters and explain to you how to install them. They tell you right off the start that these filters do not filter out the dangerous gases eminating from the foam insulation. Only pieces of foam get caught so you don't continue inhaling them through the hose. The gases were there before you even put the mask on. They can make you very sick including some reports of cancer believed might be a factor.
So please do not blame respshop for Philips recall. Mine was recalled but I was able to convince Medicare that even though I only had it for 1 year, I was told to stop using it so that paved the way for me to seem it unusable and I want you to cover the price of a new one.
They agreed that it was an inferior product and gave me the ok to buy a C-Pap machine. Any brand. So I'm waiting for a resmed Airsense C-Pap machine. Excellent reviews.
respshop actually has a great video online that I have just viewed. It shows how to adjust the air pressure: now I can use my re-called CPAP with the respshop filter and still breathe! Thank you respshop!
I recommend buying the three pack of filters I have been using them for a while now luv them a lot lest worrying about the the poison coming out of the crappy machine
This was easily installed and I have had no problems with its use.
Due to the "recall" I decided to use a inline bacterial filter for my protection. The order was quickly shipped and received. The filter does not seem to interfere with the flow of air and is simple to install in my unit. I used a "Sharpie" to write the day the filter was inserted and will replace it every three months or sooner if the surface shows debris or the airflow is affected. Will order again!
Fantastic inline filter for your CPAP hose. This is especially important if your CPAP has been recalled and you are waiting for action from Philips. This inline filter will remove any particulates.
Very helpful. Improves breathing. Enjoy using it thank you for providing
It seems to work fine with a slight reduction in air pressure.
When you get more filters in place sent one to my address. I have the Philips Dream station Respironics.
Bought to use due to recall. It's not a 100% solution but maybe an ok option to help short term. I have a heated tube and this does not connect to heated tube on machine side. Had to wear at top of my mask on had where my tube plugs in which is not ideal.
Switched to non heated tube and can use on machine end.
The Quality is totally different to the example you have it use to cost 2.50 now around 7 dollars but quality I poor I hope they last the same
the filter fits well, but it diminishes the airpressure. Can you advise me on how to fix that?
Only complaint I have is it’s size and weight. Weighs down the hose. Thus pulling on tubing which causes my mask not to fit as well. Causing a leaking issue.
I am a truck driver, the trucking industry requires all truck drivers who have sleep apnea to use this machines and stay 80% compliant. The (DOT) Dept of Transportation doctor down graded my perfect 2 year medical license to 3 months until I get up to compliance using the machine. I just found out about the recall by ordering supplies, no one was going to tell me this device may cause cancer. Now I may loose my career because I will not be able to meet the DOT compliance they require. A lot of drivers will loose their driving careers if the DOT does not give them a medical extension until this mess is fixed.
While I'm sure these work great, I can't really use them due to the placement of my machine in the open section (not on top) of my nightstand. I dont think the makers really took "limited space" into account.
Did not fit but fast shipping will try another type of filter
This will fit, please give us a call and we will show you how to attach it to your device.
Very pissed off. Have developed breathing problems. Why do we have to buy these filters if its a recall. I'm now seeking the assistance of a attorney. Not happy
Yes we understand that as well. Please note the recall is with Philips and not with Respshop. Give us a call as we can offer some short term fixes during this difficult time. You may want to consider renting for a while or purchasing a travel device as your back up.

The bacteria filter I bought is $7 and cast me $13 in shipping! That is unacceptable and I will not be using this company in the future. Also the filter degraded my CPAP pressure slightly, so I stopped using it. This was supposed to be a stop-gap while the CPAP recall process plays out, but Respshop said I need to replace this filter every three days! Are you kidding me? At that price? Good business move Respshop! Bad move for me!
Hi John, on our webpage for the product, it does say that this is just to protect from particulates, but will not protect from gas unfortunately. This should only be ordered if recommended by your doctor. The filter can only last 3 days if you use it with the humidifier as the moisture will block the pressure. It is also noted that users may notice a differential in pressures depending on current settings. I do apologize for the inconvenience. If you decide to order more, please use code FILTER to save on shipping for the filter.
Not sure why but doesn't fit ,does it connect to machine then hose or hose then mask I'm confused but it's very difficult sleeping since I stopped using machine
Hi Jeff, please give us a call and we will help you install the filter. It fits in between the device and tube, or in between the tubing and the mask. You can call us at 866-936-3754.
At the top of the add it reads “ It does not block the off-gassed chemicals”. How is this product protecting me?
This device is only able to protect from particulates, not off-gassed chemicals. This is why we only recommend this if advised by your physician to use.
So I have to purchase a filter to prevent my CPAC Machine from killing me. Isn’t that something that Phillips should be sending out to all machine owners. I have been talking with several machine owners and we think it’s time to file a class action suit against the company. You were told by your doctor to use it every single day Phillips is taking forever to make this problem go away. Just saying
Hello, please remember that we are not the Manufacturer. Philips Respironics is the manufacturer. Please direct your concerns regarding the recall to them directly at 1-877-907-7508.
First of all, I can believe I was charged to order an adapter for a CPAP machine that is being recalled due to expelling cancerous toxins. The recommended adapter not fit the CPAP machine. What a rip off
Hello, please remember that we are not the Manufacturer. Philips Respironics is the manufacturer. Please direct your concerns regarding the recall to them directly at 1-877-907-7508.
The filter should fit between your mask and your tubing. Please give us a call and we can assist with installation. 1-866-936-3754.
I think a class action suit should be entered. I would not have known about any of this if I didn’t call ResMed to order supplies and hear their announcement regarding the “Recall”. Had to Google it to get information and now I have to purchase a stop gap temporary fix. Philips needs to step up and supply all the effected users of their inferior product with everything needed. Why wasn’t a notification sent out?
Please note we are RESPSHOP.COM and not Philips. We are here and ready to help if we can.
Phillips should be sending these filters at no cost to everyone who has one of their CPAP machines recalled. Patients have already been exposed to harmful chemicals due to Phillips' faulty equipment - and now you want them to buy your filters to protect them from your mistake. Why should they now have to pay for a filter?! Phillips is putting so many people's health at risk. Shame on you! I want free filters delivered to my home until Phillips fixes this mess!
Please remember we are Respshop.com and not Philips. We are here to provide products and services you may need and are happy to assist during this difficult time.
SO this Dream station CPAP machine is not safe to use but i am told that i must purchase filters and a lot of them, 2 - 3 filters per week when using humidity
If this faulty equipment is needing a filter shouldn't they be supplied by the manufacturer at no cost to the customer ?
the worst is i just learned about this recall on 7/14/2021
i would think my oxygen supply company (Lincare) would of /could of told me immediately but they NEVER do anything of the sort.
so when can i expect a temporary fix/ permanent fix for this deadly device
