CPAP Bacteria Filter

The CPAP Bacteria Filter significantly reduces the bacteria and viral content in your CPAP airflow without compromising the flow of air from your CPAP device. When installed the filter prevents bacteria and viruses from infiltrating into your CPAP tube, CPAP Mask, and ultimately your airway. The filter fits all standard CPAP tubing.

Key Features

  • Highly Efficient Filter
  • Compatible with Exhalation Pressure Relief Features
  • Stops Viruses and Bacteria

Reviewers Tip:

It is highly recommended you do not use the bacteria filter for more than 3 days with a humidifier

FAQ

How often should I replace the bacteria filter?

The answer varies depending on usage and the environment you conduct your sleep apnea therapy in. It is recommended you check your filter every week, and if you see any signs of discoloration or moisture, you should change the filter.

This filter is compatible with all CPAP tubing.

Folks, don't ask this company to send you free filters because the PHILIPS company recalled their C-Pap machine. This respshop is not a Philips company. They only offer filters to those who's doctor recommended them as a temporary fix. Respshop is separate from Philips. They can help you by selling filters and explain to you how to install them. They tell you right off the start that these filters do not filter out the dangerous gases eminating from the foam insulation. Only pieces of foam get caught so you don't continue inhaling them through the hose. The gases were there before you even put the mask on. They can make you very sick including some reports of cancer believed might be a factor.
So please do not blame respshop for Philips recall. Mine was recalled but I was able to convince Medicare that even though I only had it for 1 year, I was told to stop using it so that paved the way for me to seem it unusable and I want you to cover the price of a new one.
They agreed that it was an inferior product and gave me the ok to buy a C-Pap machine. Any brand. So I'm waiting for a resmed Airsense C-Pap machine. Excellent reviews.

Yes we understand that as well. Please note the recall is with Philips and not with Respshop. Give us a call as we can offer some short term fixes during this difficult time. You may want to consider renting for a while or purchasing a travel device as your back up.

Subject: not worth it
The bacteria filter I bought is $7 and cast me $13 in shipping! That is unacceptable and I will not be using this company in the future. Also the filter degraded my CPAP pressure slightly, so I stopped using it. This was supposed to be a stop-gap while the CPAP recall process plays out, but Respshop said I need to replace this filter every three days! Are you kidding me? At that price? Good business move Respshop! Bad move for me!

Hi John, on our webpage for the product, it does say that this is just to protect from particulates, but will not protect from gas unfortunately. This should only be ordered if recommended by your doctor. The filter can only last 3 days if you use it with the humidifier as the moisture will block the pressure. It is also noted that users may notice a differential in pressures depending on current settings. I do apologize for the inconvenience. If you decide to order more, please use code FILTER to save on shipping for the filter.

I just found out about the recall by ordering supplies, no one was going to tell me this device may cause cancer. I can't figure out how to put this on my machine. I saw the reply to put it on between the machine and the tubing, but how? (Asked on 07/10/2021)
A:
Your mask may have a quick connect which is a piece that fits in the tubing, that makes it easier for you to remove and apply your mask to the tubing. This would be why the filter is not fitting. You would need to remove that piece from the tube and attach it back to the mask. The filter would then fit between the filter and the tube. Please give us a call if you would like further guidance. A:
Philips is recommending that patients halt use of ozone-related cleaning products. Dish soap and water is what is recommended, and vinegar/water solution as needed. The filter is recommended to be used with the Humidifier off as well, as the filter will last longer this way. If used with the humidifier you may only get about 3 days of use on it. We are however sold out at the moment, so please check back weekly for updates.

The filter works both ways, but I would suggest attaching it between your mask and hose, that way if you're still using humidity and a heated tube, it may last longer then having it attached directly to the device.

A:
Hello,
This filter will block the debris from the foam should be replaced every week. However, since you are using a humidifier, the filter will need to be replaced more often (every 2-3 days ideally). It doesn't work as well when wet. They come as a pack of 5 filters. The 5 x 5/pack or 10 x 5/pack may be a better option since you will need to replace them often.
Hope this helps!
