Philips Respironics Nuance Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask
With the Philips Respironics Nuance Pro Nasal Pillow Mask, you can have a mask that perfectly suits your lifestyle.
It comes in two frame options: the silicone frame is lined with gel pads for extra cushioning and stability, while the soft all-fabric frame offers an even gentler touch.
Designed to minimize contact with your face, both these frames reduce skin irritation and provide an open line of sight.
Each frame is attached to a fabric headgear with three adjustment points — one on the crown of the head and two on the sides of the head.
Combining the non-slip headgear design with the sealing power of the gel nasal pillows, the mask creates a secure seal and allows for easy fitting.
For an enhanced seal, a 360° swivel at the end of the short tube lets you turn in bed without tugging excessively on the CPAP hose. To keep the tube out of the way, you can tuck it into the tube management loop at the top of the headgear.
Daily cleaning: non-fabric parts
- Disassemble the mask.
- Soak all parts in warm water with mild soap for up to ten minutes.
- Rinse each part thoroughly under running water.
- Air dry all parts away from direct sunlight. Lay the headgear and fabric sleeves flat to dry, or you can hang them to dry.
The gel cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. The gel cushion naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.
However, keeping facial hair trimmed will always help improve comfort and fit for any mask.
- Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the tips of the nasal pillows to inflate and settle comfortably inside your nose.
- Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
- Ensure you're wearing your Nuance/Nuance Pro mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
- Adjust your headgear as necessary.
- Try a larger or smaller cushion size.
- Replace any worn out mask parts.

I purchased the nuance pro gel nasal mask and have been using it for approximately a month now. At first, I was a bit disappointed by the section where the nasal pillow attaches to the headgear because it was leaking quite a lot in the first few days I tried it. Also, the section of the mask with the nose part seemed a little flimsy to me. But, I realized I could adjust the mask pretty well with my headgear and also my cushion size and eventually I got it so the mask doesn't leak for my face shape. So far over a month, I haven't experienced any more leaking. And also the nose part of the mask has held up surprisingly. I had a bad first impression with this mask but after giving it a chance, frankly speaking, it's not a bad mask by any means. Definitely good value for the price. Respshop was very helpful in giving me advice about this mask.
Very good lightweight CPAP mask that is also comfortable. The cushion has gel in it which makes it fit better and also reduces pressure. You can also choose between a gel or fabric frame. I use gel and it's comfortable and breathable. Great mask overall.
Very comfortable, even for a new CPAP user. Easy to adjust, and doesn't interfere with my sleep.
I was glad to see it came with all three pillow sizes to try and there doesn’t seem to be differing frame sizes, so no need to fret about measuring. I can see why people like the gel so much, it made this pillow incredibly comfortable as well. They seal up really well but feel cool to the touch. They’re nice and pliable (but also firm) so they’re both comfortable and secure. Haven’t had any irritation. Also, the pillows are pretty cheap compared to ones I’ve had to buy for past masks, so I’m not worried about having to replace them.
Overall the mask is comfortable. In line with the gel theme, I got the gel frame as well. For similar reasons to what was mentioned above, the gel cheek pads are great. They keep my face feeling cool and distribute the pressure of the straps well. I don’t wake up with red lines from the straps or any kind of pain at all. The headgear also secures well and feels light and breathable.
The only complaint I have is that this one is louder than my old mask. But this is a minor thing because this mask does everything else right. I'll continue using this mask for sure.
Comfort really is the name of the game here and it excels in all areas. The straps are almost unnoticeable, they’re just that light. Nice and soft material and the adjustment Velcro feels sturdy. As I mentioned though, I chose the gel frame which comes with these large pads of gel on the cheek straps. They’re fantastic, they feel cool against my face and really spread the pressure out. I have zero problems with red cheek lines now, which is something I could not say with my old masks. After experiencing this, I don’t think I can ever move away from gel-padded frames.
The gel on the pillow is great too. I always had issues with pillows pressuring around my nose, like someone was pinching it. All those issues went away with the gel pillow however and I’m happy to see replacements are quite economical too. No problems with seal, it seals up great and doesn’t slip at all at night.
For my review of the Nuance, there certainly is no nuance. The mask is flat out amazing and I’ll happily shout it from the rooftop. If anyone is looking for the most comfortable nasal pillow mask on the market, I’d gladly vouch for the Nuance as a contender.

First let me say that this mask works well for me. I have used it for years now. The only real complaint I have is that the headgear in the back slips and slides up to the top of my head while sleeping and also the velcro seems to wear out pretty quick. Is there something I can do to stop the sliding?
PRO: Lightweight, well constructed.
CON: Two stiff on my nose, got soreness.
Resmed Airsense and above mask gave me an AHI of 35.
Resmed S9 and F & P Pilairo Q gave me AHI of 5.5
Is it then machine or the mask???

This is the second time I bought this mask and I don't know why but it feels very different from the first one I used in the past. I move around a lot and there are leaks from where the piece where the nose pillow and the headgear meet. I also can't get this part to connect comfortably without leaking. It's either too loose and leaks, or its too tight and uncomfortable to sleep with. My nose hurt very badly in the morning after I set it up too tight once. I will be returning this because I think the sizing was off for me. My old mask didn't have these problems so I don't know if the mask changed or if I changed.
This is a pretty expensive mask so I am disappointed that I have to return it. I will update If my new mask is better.
I have this mask for a week now and I was previously using the Wisp Nasal Mask with Headgear.
Changing mask type was because of the pressure on my face with the Nasal Mask, but this pillow mask makes tremendous pressure to my nose and I often woke up in the night and remove the mask to relief my nose.
The mask has noise to yourself only when you intake the air which is very annoying to me.
The mask cannot hold its position or blowing to hard into your nose when the pressure level is 10cmh2o or higher which would eventually wake me up in the middle of the night.
Sadly I was disappointed and I can see why this mask was discounted. The straps that hold it on your head are on the very top of my head and don't ever get the mask on there firmly. I have to continually pull the back strap back into place all night long losing sleep when the nose piece pillows lose connection. I looked closely at the other mask I bought from you and on it the straps are wider and lower which allow you to pull the back strap on to the back of my head securing a better connection. I have been sleepy since I got the mask and just figured out that the mask coming loose is causing the pillows to lose connection. Is this a youth mask or a woman's mask? It just doesn't fit my head like the dozens of masks I have used over the years.

I'm very disapointed in that most of the air flow leaks out prior to getting my pillow in place. I beleive it is defective. I would like you to replace that item.

Tried all 3 nasal pillow sizes and could never get enough air to come through. Not sure what the issue is but I couldn't solve it so this mask is definitely not for me.

I thought this would be an improvement over my old mask, and at first I found it very comfortable and convenient. Within a week, however, the velcro that allows for adjustment of the straps began to weaken. The slightest motion at night causes it to snap loose, breaking the seal around my nose. I won't be ordering this product again.
