ResMed AirStart 10 Fixed Pressure CPAP

The ResMed AirStart 10 with HumidAir is one of the newest therapy devices in ResMed's Air series. It is an effective, low-cost, and basic device. It is simplistic to use for most users, and with all the basic features you'd expect in a premier CPAP machine, you will rest easy knowing you're getting outstanding quality. Equipped with a vibrant LCD display, you will have no trouble seeing at night and you will enjoy the accessibility of each setting. Another benefit is the light weight; as it is only 2.75 pounds, you have the flexibility to travel without all the unnecessary weight other machines often require. It is a great travel companion.

The AirStart is built on the idea of simplicity. Due to its basic design, this device is looking to target users in need of a second machine in the event of frequent travel or simply having a backup machine waiting in the wings for a rainy day. We've all been there before when it comes to searching for a machine that is simple without the extra gadgetry or unneeded features. Even so, features seen in past machines such as Exhalation Pressure Relief and built-in humidification are still included. There also is a Ramp setting, which sets up an increase in pressure prior to reaching your therapy pressure setting. This allows you to get acclimated to your machine each night. You can dictate the amount of time you would like before the machine goes into your set therapy pressure setting.

Expiratory Pressure Relief Along with Other Comfort Features
ResMed has carried over expiratory pressure relief (EPR) from their line of S9 models. EPR is an algorithm that works by decreasing the pressure at the beginning of each breath a user takes, and then subsequently limiting that pressure throughout exhalation. Patients can choose whether they want pressure to drop by one, two, or three cm H2O, and these pressure changes are made gradually so as to not awaken you while you undergo your therapy. EPR is also capable of detecting when you're in the midst of an unnatural respiration period: if an apnea lasts ten seconds or more, EPR stops and institutes your prescribed pressure setting until your breathing cycle recommences.

HumidAir Heated Humidifier
The new HumidAir humidifier features a slightly larger water chamber capable of holding up to 380 mL of water. The humidifier will help reduce some of the negative symptoms of CPAP therapy by propelling warm, moist air into your lungs. This helps prevent rainout, nasal congestion, and other unpleasant side effects. Patients who do not wish to have humidified air may opt to remove the humidifier from the machine entirely or simply not fill the water chamber. A great feature is the ability to warm-up the humidifier before use, allowing it to be warm even from the beginning of your therapy.

Ramp Feature
The ramp feature, long a standard in ResMed products, has been redesigned to help make therapy even more comfortable. In the ResMed AirStart 10 CPAP, you can still use the ramp to gradually increase pressure over a 45 minute interval. For the first time though, you now have the opportunity to delay the onset of the ramp from the beginning of your therapy. For users who dislike the sudden inflow of air pressure when they turn on their CPAP, the new ramp is ideal: simply program the ramp to start anywhere from five to forty-five minutes after you turn on your machine and you can delay the onset of any pressure at all! This will allow you to fall asleep without any incoming pressure, helping you fall asleep naturally.

Easy Controls, Innovative Display
Therapeutic accessibility remains a hallmark of ResMed's machines. There are no complicated menus or settings. On the display screen, the user is given the ability to change any settings deemed needing to be changed such as ramp time, humidity level, or EPR. Once everything is set the way the user likes, the display will show the settings you've chosen as well as the current pressure and level of humidity. Thereafter, it will have the display go black which keeps the room from being lit with extra lights that can oftentimes be unnecessary. When you wake up after your therapy you will see the hours of usage on display for you. Simplicity at its best; little navigation is needed to find this information!
The following functions are not included in this product: auto ramp, Smart Start, Climate Control, Remote Assist, Wireless Module, Myair, and Heated Hose. The included SD card records only hours used, mask seal, humidification indicators, and AHI.

Would not reccomend this Cpap, the machine itself is ok but I have had it for less then a month and I have bought 2 water resoviors (the third is on the way)The first one just crumbled along the bottom seam and the second one did the same thing. I am just dumbfounded how this keeps happening. I by no means manhandle it at all. It's a mystery to me. Hunting for a new one

*Thank you for reaching out to us! I have this machine also for about 3 years and have had no issues. Please contact us so we can get this fixed for you :)

I appreciate the fast service for the purchase of my new machine. I have used a C-Pap for 25 years and can never get a good night of sleep if deprived of the use of my machine. I further appreciate that cost associated with the new purchase. This is so much better than what my health insurance provided negotiated with another company. My thanks goes to all involved.

This machine is great! And very durable, has traveled all over the world with me and survived accidental drops and kicks. Easy to care for and super easy to figure out. It has really been a game changer for me now that I can sleep through the night and not awake with headaches. Have had my machine one year and am still happy with it.

I think it works! The day the equipment arrived I came down with a miserable cold. But trying to put headgear on in the middle of the night in the dark, I noticed I was not out of breath, nor was my heart pounding! I am looking forward to next week when I am not sick and can experience the total effects after 35 years of no breath!

had it a month, average 4 hours sleep per night, but i think it fixes apnea somewhat, had to adjust mask from pillow to nasal, sent wrong initialy
that helped lower the pressure, made it too high. Overall, it seems durable, and better quality and all the parts are good, think it's worth the money

I am really enjoying this unit. It's very quiet! I had a ResMed escape II that lasted for over 10 years. I hope this unit is equally as hardy. So far I like it better than the escape II.
