CPAP Mask, Hose, and Chamber Cleaner
Cleaning your CPAP equipment, especially your mask, tube, and humidifier water chamber regularly are of the utmost important when it comes to safe and effective CPAP therapy. While using your CPAP equipment, bacteria and germs can build up inside your tube and mask. This can have long term negative effects on your overall sleep apnea therapy while also causing your equipment to break down, leading to more constant replacement of parts. Daily cleanings are mandatory for all CPAP equipment, and the most effective way to thoroughly clean your equipment and kill 99.9 percent of that bacteria is to use the SoClean CPAP Cleaner and Sanitizer.
Most Thorough CPAP Cleaner Available
Using the same process that hospitals use while sanitizing equipment, the SoClean CPAP Cleaner and Sanitizer guarantees that it kills 99.9 percent of any type of negative build up in your CPAP mask and tube. You do not have to take apart your mask and wipe it down with a wipe or use any type of spray; just put your mask directly into the SoClean and let it do the work!
No Chemicals or Water
Using oxygen, the SoClean will automatically clean your CPAP equipment without using any type of alcohol or chemical that can leave a smell on your mask.
Heated Tubing Adapters
If you are using a ClimateLine tubing with a ResMed S9, heated tubing for the Fisher and Paykel Icon, System One 60 Series Heated Tubing, or heated tubing for the Fisher and Paykel 600 Series CPAP Machines, an adapter is required in order to clean your tube. There are four different types of adapters available for purchase for these four types of heated tubing, so know what type of machine you are using and if you have the heated tube before purchasing.

FAQ
Do I need to take apart my mask to put it in the SoClean?
No, your mask goes in as is and will come out thoroughly clean, as 99.9 percent of bacteria will be destroyed while inside. Your mask should be attached to the tube and water chamber as well, as all three will receive cleaning.
What are the benefits of cleaning my CPAP equipment?
By cleaning your equipment daily, you lengthen the lifespan of things like your mask cushions and tubes. This leadsto less frequent replacement of parts and less costs. But cleaning your CPAP equipment isn't just about the costs, it's also about your health! CPAP equipment that does not get a thorough cleaning can allow for bacteria and pathogens to build up which will lead you to getting sick more often and having negative effects on your overall health and sleep apnea therapy.
Why does it look like my mask is yellowing?
Clear or yellowish residue is usually just built-up facial oils. The SoClean will oxidize/sanitize any organic residue on the mask, but an inert (and sometimes yellowish colored) material residue can be left behind. Wash the mask out well with the pre-wash or with fragrance-free dish soap. This is the most common cause of yellowing. It may seem as if the plastic is yellowing, but the yellow color may be caused by a fine film of facial oil residue.

Subject: Odor
I don't want to be too critical about this purchase but want to be honest:
1. Yes, a little overwhelming when you open up the package and figure out the connections.
2. I had to purchased another water holder because this did not work with my current unit without that purchase.
3. When cleaning, it is loud. I plan the cleaning when I am not in the bedroom so that is NOT an issue.
4. Smell. Worse part is the after smell. I have cleaned my new head gears like suggested and all but after using the machine the mask always has that ozone smell for a long time while using the mask. I just can't get that to stop no matter what I do. I hate that smell when trying to go to sleep. Is it unhealthy? I hope not.
Is it working? Who knows, it is a trust thing. I suppose it is killing the bacteria an all. But the after smell in the mask is the biggest drawback. I kind of regret buying this machine for that reason.
Cliff note version:
Very loud when cleaning, like drown out the TV loud. Thankfully it's only for about 12 minutes
Cannot put the nose piece in the SoClean because the ozone smell makes me absolutely nauseous.
I wash that piece by hand.
After it cleans, I let the CPAP run for an hour to "air" out the smell from the hose.
I love the concept, but not the price (I had to buy another additional 20.00 adapter on top of the $300) nor do I like the ozone smell, but clean is clean. I gave it two stars because it is somewhat easy and I like knowing that nasty mutant microbes are not living in my DME.
Would I buy it again ...... not for that price.
I've decided not to pay the huge price tag for a machine that only kills bacteria. A soapy solution does the same thing. This machine has mixed Youtube review, many say there is an odor after cleaning and some say you still have to clean the mask cushion, as it will not remove facial oils from the cushion with just circulation O2 through the tubes, I'll stick with wipes and soapy water. I have Anthem Insurance and they pay 100% of CPAP costs and they have stated that this machine will likely never be covered under insurance as it is a luxury item and not a medically needed item. Way to expensive for the draw backs people are stating.
I had debated for a couple years about making this purchase; considered a UV light unit instead (just based on cost) but they sounded fragile. When Respshop sent me a 20% discount offer, I took the plunge on SoClean.....SoHappy I did! This unit is well designed, simple to use, and I was relieved the ‘smell’ issue some reviews mentioned was really not an issue at all. This unit has greatly increased my confidence that my unit his free from bacteria and fully sanitized every day. No more worries and I sleep great. Thanks SoClean and RespShop!!
When I opened the package I was almost overwhelmed. There were SO MANY pieces and I thought I'll never figure this out. But I took a breath, read the manual completely (and laid out the pieces as I read) and then began to assemble the component. Oh my, it was a BREEZE. Setting the date, etc., also easy, easier than in my car. Attaching it to my CPAP was also straightforward IF ONE FOLLOWS STEP-BY-STEP what is shown in the manual. Does it come on automatically? You bet it does. I could not be more satisfied!
I notice some of the negative reviews are from non-owners...who allows that? Only actual owners should review! Personally, I love mine! I have had it for a month or so, and can tell such a difference in the way my sinuses feel after sleeping. Yes, the ozone smell is a little weird when you first start your unit, but goes away within a few seconds, and then the air smells "clean." I am so glad I added this to my Resmed Air Sense 10!
Really cool tool. Makes cleaning my mask and tube so much easier than ever before. I spend no time going through all of my equipment, just let the soclean do it for me. Its a little more expensive than other stuff, but its so cool and effective that it was worth the money.
You breathe into your mask and tube all night, its no wonder you might get sick again from bacteria. With the soclean thats not a problem!
This machine is easy to operate. As with any product, the down side is the cost of the filter, and for me, the lingering odor left on the sanitized mask is border-line unpleasant. From the instructional comparison video, a CPAP user needs to also clean their equipment. This machine (in spite of its name), only sanitizes the equipment. All in all, this machine is great for its purpose.
Easy to set up. Very simple. I really don’t notice any odors like others mentioned. No way to really tell if it’s killing germs, act of faith I guess. After 1 week, I’m into the routine. Only thing I noticed is the open button is flimsy. Plastic and takes 2 hands to open. Looks like a part waiting to break. We’ll see. Other than that, very pleased.
The machine does a great job. I got allergies after using a cpap for awhile. I got rid of the allergies after using the SoClean. The only negative I have is the latch on the SoClean case is very poorly made. Mine broke after a year or 2. It is made of plastic but should be made of metal.
