CPAP and BiPAP Bacterial Filter by Sunset Healthcare

This Bacterial Filter from Sunset Healthcare significantly reduces the bacteria and viral content in your CPAP or BiPAP airflow. It is compatible with CPAP and BiPAP machines of all brands and connects to all standard 22mm OD CPAP tubing. It can be used with or without a heated humidifier.

This filter is not washable and should be replaced weekly or when dirty. If this bacterial filter is connected to a machine with a heated humidifier, it will require more frequent replacement, typically every three days. This is because the filter becomes saturated with moisture from the humidifier.

Usage Instructions

Connect one end of the bacterial filter to your machine and the other end to your hose.  If you are using a heated tubing, place the bacterial filter between your CPAP mask and heated tubing.

Question
I have a Dream Station 2. The end of the hose that plugs into the unit had 3 prongs that go into the 3 holes on the unit.
Will this adapter work due to it not having the 3 prongs to lock into the unit.

Answer
The Dreamstation 2 is not affected by the recall, so you don't need to use this filter with your device. The foam in the Dreamstation 2 is not the same as the affected sound abatement foam for the recall. Thank you.

Question
I can't figure out how to put this on my machine. I saw the reply to put it on between the machine and the tubing, but how?

Answer
Your mask may have a quick connect which is a piece that fits in the tubing, that makes it easier for you to remove and apply your mask to the tubing. This would be why the filter is not fitting. You would need to remove that piece from the tube and attach it back to the mask. The filter would then fit between the filter and the tube. Please give us a call if you would like further guidance. Thank you.

Question
I have a Remstar SE Auto, Do these filters attach to the outlet on the CPAP machine or between hose and the mask?
The filter seems too stiff to attach directly to the outlet on the Remstar machine.
Thanks.

Answer
The filter works both ways, but I would suggest attaching it between your mask and hose, that way if you're still using humidity and a heated tube, it may last longer then having it attached directly to the device.

Question
I ordered some bacteria filters because of the recall. Do they attach to the base of the hose? How often should they be changed if I don’t use a humidifier? Thanks

Answer
Hi, they should be placed between your cpap machine and tubing. Change them every week unless you use the humidifier then every 3 days max. Thank you

Question
I also have a Dreamstation which uses the humidifier with the heated hose.

Other YouTube videos claim this will not support the heating hose because of how the end is.

Is this even a valid statement? From other responses provided to folks ob here with the same Dreamstation humidifier, it sounds as everything will be fine.

Can you please confirm?
Thank You!

Answer
Hi, yes it will not work there, but you may put it between your mask and hose. Thank you

Question
I have a Dreamstation, by Philips. Because of the recall i am considering using your filter. I also use a hot humidifier and hose and all. Which filter is the best for me, please? Could you recommend one? There are some differences in numbers and i am not sure which one to buy. thank you.

Answer
Hello,
This filter will block the debris from the foam should be replaced every week. However, since you are using a humidifier, the filter will need to be replaced more often (every 2-3 days ideally). It doesn't work as well when wet. They come as a pack of 5 filters. The 5 x 5/pack or 10 x 5/pack may be a better option since you will need to replace them often.
Hope this helps!
