Is the AirFit F20 Full Face Mask a good choice if I have facial hair?

The AirFit F20 generally seals well with facial hair, although this depends on the style. To improve the seal between the cushion and skin, we suggest using a CPAP mask liner and/or keeping facial hair trimmed.

If leaks persist, the AirTouch F20 Full Face Mask might be a better option. The AirTouch F20 comes with a memory foam cushion that stays in place more effectively than silicone cushions. Memory foam also offers a softer fit and is more comfortable on sensitive skin.

What is the difference between the AirFit F20 and AirTouch F20 full face masks?

The AirFit F20 and AirTouch F20 share the same frame, headgear and elbow connector. The only difference between the two is the material of the full face cushion. The AirFit F20 features a silicone cushion while the AirTouch F20 features a memory foam cushion.

Can I use a different type of cushion with my AirFit F20 Full Face Mask?

Yes, the AirFit F20 mask is also compatible with the AirTouch F20 memory foam cushion, allowing you to choose the cushion material you find most comfortable.

How do I clean my AirFit F20 Full Face Mask?

Weekly cleaning: headgear

Daily cleaning: frame, cushion, elbow

  1. Disassemble the mask.
  2. Soak the mask parts in warm water with mild soap. Avoid soaking for more than 10 minutes.
  3. Scrub the vent holes on the elbow with a soft bristle brush.
  4. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water, squeezing out excess water from the headgear.
  5. Lay parts out to air dry away from direct sunlight.
How often should I replace my AirFit F20 Full Face Mask?

To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.

The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.

My ResMed AirFit F20 mask is leaking. What should I do?
  1. Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose and mouth.
  2. Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
  3. Ensure you're wearing your AirFit F20 mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
  4. Adjust your headgear as necessary.
  5. Try a larger or smaller cushion or headgear size.
  6. Replace any worn out mask parts.

If your CPAP mask still leaks after following all those troubleshooting steps, a different mask style may be a better option. Feel free to contact RespShop for assistance in choosing a different mask.

I eagerly awaited receipt of my new F20, expecting that Resmed would have improved on the F10, which I find ok except the cushions do not last long and the headgear is pretty hopeless as usual. However, although I followed Resmed's instructions, I found that the only way to stop leakage was to have the mask fairly tight. In turn this made the bridge of my nose and cheeks sore by morning. I think the cushion is awful and the plastic of the mask very harsh. The mask is very noisy too and it is easy to dislodge the connecting elbow. The headgear is fine and would be better adapted to the F10. Overall, it will be chucked into the box with other masks that I find difficult to use. A waste of money on my part.

I don't usually write reviews but the only review on this site was super negative. I didn't think it was that bad. I don't think there will ever be a perfect full face mask but this was the best I've ever had. I find with all the full face masks I've tried that you have to really cinch down the straps to limit/stop the leaks. This can cause you to have a minor sore spot on the bridge of your nose and of course stap marks. This is the first mask I've had that doesn't leak and you know what that means, a good sleep! I'll take the minor and temporary nose irritation until they have improved this issue.

I am using the ResMed Airfit F20 full face CPAP large mask with headgear. I like it except that in order to get a good seal (NO leaks) it must be worn tight on my face. It also causes soreness at the bridge of my nose when I use or. remove the mask. ResMed, if you can correct this problem the mask would be great I am going to try a medium size mask and hope this will correct the problem. Send this to ResMed for corrections to the mask, please. Thank you.

Hi I originally panned the F20 after one night of trying it out, but since then have found that, if adjusted properly, it is less likely to leak than any other mask I have tried, and I have many unused masks. I use a Bipap AVAPS machine and recently travelled overseas for a few weeks, taking both my F10 and F20, thinking that I would use the F10 mostly, but after a few days of travel realised that the F20 gives a better seal, is more comfortable and the straps are more reliable and less likely to rub. I have tried many masks including nasal masks, pillows and full face masks. As I suffer from COPD, lung caner and sinus problems I can only use a full face mask and this is the best I have found so far.

Many good feature but the thick plastic cuts my nose.
