When this Vitera full face mask came out, I was very impressed with the amount of research that had gone into this product! Fisher & Paykel shared with our company what exactly goes into creating a new full-face CPAP mask, and I have to say it was impressive, to say the least. I took the Vitera full face mask home to give it a go.
I don’t usually wear a nasal mask unless I have a cold or am reviewing a new mask, so my preference leans toward the nasal versions. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the Vitera Full Face mask is. It is also imperative that my line of sight not be obstructed since I like to read in bed, and for a full face mask, this did the trick.
I like a couple of other things about this full-face CPAP mask. In particular, the very comfortable cushion, which Fisher & Paykel call the RollFit XT Seal, really does roll or glide to stay in place as you move and auto-adjust to minimize mask leaks and pressure around my nose.
I also really like the headgear clips because they are adjustable in five areas. Once you have it adjusted to your liking, you have two quick-release tabs on the frame for easy release. They also allow you to take the mask off and put it back on without having to readjust it to fit again.
The VentiCool headgear creates a very stable yet cool feeling to the full face CPAP mask, which means no slipping around while you sleep. My final thought on the Vitera full-face mask is that it is a very comfortable and convenient mask for CPAP users.
Compatible with CPAP and BiPAP machines from all manufacturers. AirMini users will need an AirMini Tubing Connector Adapter and a non-heated hose to use the mask.

How do I clean my Vitera Full Face Mask?
Weekly cleaning: headgear
Daily cleaning: cushion, frame, elbow, swivel
- Disassemble the mask.
- Soak all parts in warm water with mild soap for up to ten minutes.
- Rinse each part thoroughly under running water, squeezing out excess water from the headgear.
- Air dry all parts away from direct sunlight. Lay the headgear flat to dry, or you can hang to dry.
How often should I replace my Vitera Full Face Mask?
To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.
The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.
My Vitera Full Face Mask is leaking. What should I do?
- Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose and mouth.
- Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
- Ensure you're wearing your F&P Vitera according to the fitting instructions in the user guide or refer to the F&P myMask app. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
- Adjust your headgear as necessary.
- Try a larger or smaller cushion or headgear size.
- Replace any worn out mask parts.

Is the F&P Vitera a good choice for users with facial hair?
The Vitera generally seals well with facial hair, although this depends on the style. To improve the seal between the cushion and skin, we suggest using a CPAP mask liner and/or keeping facial hair trimmed.

I’m new to Cpap but after talking to Christina I think I found the perfect mask! She asked all the right questions it seems. She asked if I’m a mouth breather: YES, and if I have facial hair: YES and told me this was the mask to get. I’ve always heard that sleeping in a mask is a pain that I’ve honestly had no problems. The piece that goes over my nose and mouth is soft and comfortable and I don’t know if it’s the right word but it seems “light”. There’s a strap that goes around the back of my head and one that goes across the top of my head. It is comfortable and barely noticeable. I don’t have any other experiences with these masks, but this one seems really great.

I've tried a variety of CPAP masks, but I always come back to the Vitera because it's the most comfortable one for me. It provides a great fit, and even with my facial hair, I don't experience any mask leaks. It's been the most reliable and comfortable mask I've used.

Constant air leaks, measured only 5% on my BiPap machine. Very uncomfortable with air leaks and noise interruptions keeping me awake nearly all night. I purchased both medium and large and both were a very disappointing and expensive purchase. Wish I had my money back!

I’ve tried several masks. I started with the hybrid models and tried a nasal one too. Nothing works as well as the Vitera full face mask for a good night sleep with little to no leakage.

I am a side sleeper that moves constantly in my sleep. Left side, back, right side. Repeat constantly. I have a deviated septum so I have to use a full face mask instead of the nose pillows.
This mask saved me from air leaks. It has a great seal. It will still leak but I learned:
- clean the mask every day
- wear a cloth liner
The hose is in front of your body, but I often flip it to go over my head so I don't get tangled and strangled as I sleep dance.
The seal is good enough that I don't have to go so tight that I leave deep marks in my skin.

The mask has an ok seal but my mouth still manages to slip out of the bottom and causes me to tighten the straps around the back of my head which is really uncomfortable… just to prevent leaking… I really hate it

Well I'm still new to this mask, about a week or so. Right away, the cons:
the swivel is noisey.
The cushion is abrasive.
The air vent -breeze- is strong, like gale force.
I quit after first two nights. Then decided to try it with a liner I made out of a shirt.
Now I love it. I have king size bed so my partner is not victimized by the breeze..
Long story short- try it with a liner of some kind if your "delicate" like me!

I had recurring problems with the mask drying out my mouth even when using water in my C-Pap.

As a mouth breather throughout the night, this mask is a must for a comfortable and sound sleep. I purchased this mask after trying a nasal mask that just did not work for me. I wanted to be able to breathe in and out through both my mouth or my nose throughout the night. This is the first full face mask I have tried and I like that you can get the "fitpack" with different sized cushions to figure out what fits the best. It came with a small, medium and large cushion. I thought I was going to be large but it turns out I only needed a medium. It was also recommended to me since I have a lot of facial hair that I would have better luck creating a seal than I would with something similar. I am able to wear it more loosely on my face and minimal air escapes throughout the night and it appears by the numbers on my machine that my sleep apnea is being well controlled with this mask. The only negative I have been able to find is that I enjoy putting my machine on prior to going to sleep and reading a book but because of the bar that comes on the forehead, I am unable to use my glasses. You win more and lose less with this mask!

This mask did not work for me at all. No matter what adjustments I made or which cushion size I tried. It wasn’t uncomfortable. Not sure what the issue was but I couldn’t stop the leaking. Maybe it was my face shape. 🤷🏼♂️

Works beautifully, very happy I ordered this mask, however I can not figure out how to remove the swivel elbow to be able to try out another size mask I received. I have made several attempts using the illustration in the Use and Guide book, to no avail. Any suggestions ?
