Respironics DreamStation BiPAP AutoSV w/ Humidifier

Dream Bigger
You read that right, dream BIGGER!! Philips Respironics has done exactly that with the all new designed DreamStation. BiPAP Servo Ventilator users can rejoice now as Philips has made your wish come true. Designed with optimal ventilation in mind, users are set to receive the best sleep therapy with minimal intervention. Mainly designed to help users experiencing more complicated sleep disorientation, it takes tried and true methods and further advances them so that recognizing and reacting to pressure need changes happens instantaneously. The DreamStation BiPAP AutoSV has been proven to treat central and complex apneas/hypopneas, obstructive sleep apnea as well Cheyne-Stokes respiration(Periodic Breathing)

Work Less
You get to relax worry free knowing that the DreamStation AutoSV does all the work for you automatically. The advance technology in the AutoSV system delivers a multilevel algorithm that specifically is needed by the user giving the most optimal therapy at any given time. During a breath by breath event, the DreamStation utilizes a Digital Auto-Trak algorithm that tracks sensitivity of the user and changes pressure support when it is necessary. This is all done in order to maintain a stable breathing pattern through the night. Additionally, the algorithm in the AutoSV will also calculate the users spontaneous breathing rate and trigger an automatic breath into the user if a central apnea event occurs during therapy. This algorithm adjustment of pressure support is ideal as it helps normalize breathing all the while returning the pressure back to what was originally required.

Sleep Apnea Types that the DreamStation AutoSV is best suited for
Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA):
Absence of airflow caused by obstruction of the upper airway normally lasting a minimum of 10 seconds though there is effort to breathe continually. How the severity of this matter is generally measured by the Apnea/Hypopnea Index (AHI). This is determined by the number of episodes a person has per hour of sleep. With an Auto EPAP algorithm, it will help keep the upper airways open by responding to obstructions by actively searching for the lowest most optimal pressure at that time.
Complex Sleep Apnea: Sleep therapy users experiencing this type of sleep apnea generally show signs of periodic breathing patterns. Servo-ventilation helps adjust pressure to stabilize breathing while delivering a minimal amount of intervention.
Central Sleep Apnea: This apnea sequence is specified as a normal deep cycle of breathing in and then interchanged with a complete halt of breathing. This is due to problems with how the brain controls the person breathing and not because the airway is closing on the person trying to breathe. With an AutoSV, the auto back-up rate helps to provide that support during those central apnea events thus creating a spontaneous breathing action.

Humidifiers Intuitive Redesign
Philips Respironics has not only rejuvenated its humidification system with the DreamStation, the re-invention is certainly evident as well. Along with the heated tube you'll enjoy a steady stream of warm air. The DreamStation in conjunction with Heated Tubing will optimize humidified air flow and reduce the overall possibility of rainout all the while protecting the machine from water damage. The all new DreamStation Humidifier allows you to select between two humidification modes: Adaptive and Fixed. The all new Adaptive mode adapts the heat plate temperature to the surrounding conditions in the room and outside creating an ambiance for you to enjoy. If you prefer to stay constant, then the DreamStation has you covered as you can choose the Fixed Mode: allowing you to apply constant heat on the humidifier heated plate rather than adapt to the surroundings.

Optional Heated Tube
The DreamStation BiPAP AutoSV comes with a standard 6 foot, 15mm hose or you can opt to get the heated hose for a little bit more. The heated hose gently warms the air which helps to keep water out of your tube preventing you from inhaling water. The DreamStation heated tube is 15 mm, the same as the standard tube, but the heated tube provides temperature control that allows you to select your preferred humidification level. The Philips Respironics tube is compatible with all masks. Tube Heating Setting is 0 – 5 with 5 being the highest level.

Key Features of the Heated Hose

  •  Additional Humidification Solution
  •  Flexible and comfort
  •  Rainout Protection
  •  Selected Level of Humidity
  •  One Click Connection

An amazing feature to have, Opti-Start in the DreamStation BiPAP AutoSV machine has one goal in mind: Optimal pressure from the start. With the intention to improve your comfort this will decrease the likelihood of any apneaic events from happening during the beginning of therapy. By starting your therapy session 90% closer to your previous therapy session you won't have to worry about any residual events from happening. Don't like this feature? No worries, you can enable or disable this feature if it doesn't work out for you.

Are you a user that experiences periodic breathing or even central/complex sleep apnea? Have you tried multiple CPAPs and BiPAPs, but haven’t found relief or even a good night’s rest? If you are, then let’s look at what Phillips has designed to make your nights more comfortable and more restful.

While this device was designed for those clients experiencing central/complex sleep apnea, periodic breathing patterns, the DreamStation BiPAP autoSV will let you sleep comfortably. Just knowing any of these sleeping disorders you experience will be managed as needed throughout the night.

The DreamStation BiPAP autoSV with heated humidification has the ability to deliver optimal ventilation with little intervention. Its clinically proven algorithm supports your breathing pattern to minimize applied pressures, whether that be pressure support or the machine breaths. The auto pressure support will help stabilize these clients breathing patterns along with the auto back-up rate to help treat the central events. It is very important to deliver adequate ventilation while allowing users to have natural pauses in their breathing. This will help users breathe easier, knowing they are getting sufficient rest and oxygen while they are sleeping.

With its modern designed, exceptional quiet sound and sleek white clean look, the DreamStation autoSV has exactly what you are wanting in a BiPAP. This technology, along with leak detection, advanced humidification, data tracking (either by SD card or Bluetooth), giving users the treatment, they need to help them have a comfortable, restful night’s sleep.

The DreamStation BiPAP autoSV is lightweight and compact. It will fit in any luggage for traveling or on a nightstand with ease. Its intuitive, bright screen makes it easy to read and gives it a look of an alarm clock. It comes with a 2-year warranty, making things easy if anything would need fixing.

Not everyone will feel the benefits from the DreamStation autoSV, but keep in mind, it was created with efficiencies for your benefit. The remote troubleshooting tools, like the Performance Check or connectivity options, whether that is Wi-Fi or cellular, can let my users focus on what’s important — getting a good night’s rest. So, check out this BiPAP, it may help improve your quality of life!

Is the D900 Dream station new and does it have the same problem as the recalled units? Is this the unit that Phillips will use to replace BIPAP ASV machines that have been recalled? Thanks

Hi there, unfortunately all Dreamstation models have been affected by the recall, except for the new Dreamstation 2 which is a CPAP only. ResMed does have a ASV unit, but they are no longer sending us any ASV units as they are being reserved for the hospitals during this time. You will need to reach out to the manufacturer to inquire regarding that device. ResMed phone number: 1-800-424-0737.
