Every CPAP machine has a filter. Filter maintenance is very important. The filter traps all of the airborne particles like pet dander and dust so that the air you breathe is clean. The filter protects the machine motor as well. Filters should be replaced each month.
Reusable filters should be hand washed with mild soap and warm water. Rinse the filter thoroughly and allow it to air dry until completely dry. Disposable filters should never be washed or reused.
Replacing the filter on your CPAP is simple and inexpensive. Do not delay in making this a routine priority. Check your filter often, especially if you live in a household with multiple pets, dusty air, or a smoker, and tweak your replacement/cleaning schedule as needed.
