Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean the Eson Nasal Mask?

Weekly cleaning: headgear

Daily cleaning: cushion, frame, elbow, swivel

  1. Disassemble the mask.
  2. Hand wash all parts in warm water with mild soap. Avoid soaking for more than 10 minutes.
  3. Rinse each part thoroughly under running water.
  4. Let the parts air dry away from direct sunlight.

The diffuser should be replaced every 2 to 3 months. It is not washable and should not be exposed to water.

How often should I replace my Eson Nasal Mask?

To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.

The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.

My Eson Nasal Mask is leaking. What should I do?
  1. Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose.
  2. Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
  3. Ensure you're wearing your Eson Nasal Mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide or the video below. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
  4. Adjust your headgear as necessary.
  5. Try a larger or smaller cushion size.
  6. Replace any worn out mask parts.

If your CPAP mask still leaks after following all those troubleshooting steps, a different mask style may be a better option. Feel free to contact RespShop for assistance in choosing a different mask.

Customers praise this CPAP mask for being "comfortable," "lightweight," and "quiet as a mouse." Many report excellent seal quality and low AHI readings. The adjustable headgear and easy-to-clean design are appreciated. However, sizing inconsistencies exist—"a medium with other brands means you need a large" here. Some report air leaks requiring frequent adjustments and noise at the elbow.

Buyer beware of size

Buyers of resmed masks assume the industry is standard. It is not! A medium with resmed means you need a large with a fisher system.

Hi Tom! Thanks for pointing this out. Sizing can definitely vary between brands and even between different mask models, so we always recommend checking the specific sizing guide for each mask rather than assuming the same size will fit across brands.

Fisher & Paykel Eson2; the only mask for me!

I've used the Fisher & Paykel Eson2 for years, after starting with the original Eson more than a decade ago — and it’s still the perfect mask for me. There are a few key reasons why the Eson2 continues to stand out.

Ease of use: The front socketed hose connector on the nosepiece is both flexible and versatile during sleep. It allows smooth circular movement of the slimline hose as you shift positions, preventing kinks and keeping the mask securely sealed. The coupler is removable and rotates independently, giving the mask two points of rotation—making it incredibly comfortable and practical.

Headstrap design: I use a CPAP cleaner but keep the headstrap out of the cleaning bucket to prolong its life. It’s easy to remove and reattach, even in the dark, thanks to the simple loop-style front attachments. This thoughtful design makes upkeep effortless and the strap far more durable.

Nose cone (seal): The soft nosepiece is removable and easy to clean. I wash it by hand with mild soap and water or wipe it down, then simply snap it back in place. Replacement nose cones are sold separately, allowing the rest of the mask to last for years—another big plus.

Nose filter: The removable nose filter can also be cleaned with mild soap and water. Pressing it gently between paper towels dries it almost completely, keeping it ready for use.

I’ve tried other masks and nasal pillow systems, but I always return to the Fisher & Paykel Eson2. It even works perfectly with my ResMed AirSense Mini when I travel. For me, this mask just makes sense.

Pretty Good Overall

This is one of the better masks that I have tried, and I have tried a lot. It is comfortable and easy to clean. It does have a tendency to get air leaks ever few days, so you have to keep adjusting it. That is the only downside, but I have been pretty happy with it.

This is a very comfortable mask

This is a very comfortable mask. I have been using Fisher & Parker masks for many, many years. When I adjust it properly, it is as quiet as a mouse!!

I ordered 2 masks this one Fisher and paykel medium is too large. Nose piece is fine but the headgear is too large, cannot adjust to fit.

This is my first time trying an Eson mask. I've never liked masks where I have to put a silicone "nose piece" into my nose, so I like the design of this nose piece. The nose piece goes around my nose instead of inside my nose, so this mask is much more comfortable for me in that sense. I also like how easily adjustable this mask is. The top part of the mask offers extra adjustment which made helped me get rid of the sags/leaks that I noticed the first night I tried this mask. The mask fits well and feels great. The only problem is that there is a forehead piece that makes it a little difficult to see after I put on my mask. I wish this piece was less obstructive to my vision, but I think the benefits of this mask outweighs that.

I like this mask because it's well priced and works well. Didn't know brand before but now I am a fan of them.

This mask is design with two main focuses: seal of the cushion, and quietness of the air flow. It lives up to both of these and overall performs as a top notch mask. I can unequivocally recommend it to anyone looking for a nasal mask, and it’s become my favorite mask out of all the ones I’ve used before.

The cushion is designed where there’s a rigid plastic part nestled in a broader, flexible silicon seal. This can bend in all directions and flex, which is meant to conform to your face. What this means is that the part actually touching your face is able to form a perfect seal. Airflow is uninterrupted and the air is sealed up which means you don’t have leaks. I’ve found this to work great and I’ve been able to sleep night after night without discomfort, lines on my face, or leaks. Replacements are reasonably well priced too.

As for the noise, the mask has a sophisticated diffuser system called the Q cover. There’s an insert which helps diffuse the air and I’ve found that this the most quiet mask out of any mask I’ve used. Replacements for those are fairly priced too.

Finally, the headgear is nice. The material is breathable and easy to adjust, with sufficient holding points around the head. It also has clips on the bottom two straps which clip into the plastic portion. They’re easy to disconnect so you can get up and going very easily.

I bought this mask since it had such glowing reviews and after wearing this mask for a few weeks, I can give my full recommendation as well. This is definitely the lightest mask I’ve ever tried, it really seems like this mask is designed for maximum comfort and quality for minimum weight. It fits on my head quite comfortably and even though it’s 5 straps, I haven’t had any pain or imprint problems. The strap material gets a little hot on my head but I keep my room cool at night anyways so it’s but a foible.

Cushion is good too, it fits and sits on my nose fine without leaky problems. Just make sure to use the size gauge they provide on this order page, I used it and found that the cushion fit perfectly. NO fitPack option so make sure you choose your cushion size right the first time, otherwise you might have to exchange or buy a new one. Overall, this is a very good mask and I’ve been sleeping great the past few weeks.

Great mask, I have no complaints. It’s nothing revolutionary but it does its job well and it’s comfortable and convenient.

Comfort:
This mask doesn’t feel obstructive at all, and it’s good for all sleeping styles (other than on your face). The tube elbow pivots so when I sleep on my back, the hose doesn’t have to sit on my body and my arm. There’s three points of adjustment too which means you should be able to adjust it to whatever feels comfortable to you. Just one note, the manufacturer advises you to only adjust the top of the head strap once and to use the forehead and cheek straps for day-to-day adjustments. I would advise you to make some further adjustments once you get in your sleeping position. Overall, the mask feels very lightweight and comfortable.

Convenience:
I get up a decent amount during the night to use the restroom (old age) so it’s pretty important that I can get disconnected without hassle. This mask doesn’t use magnet clasps but it does have a quick release clip on the right side which is very fast to get undone. However, I don’t even need to use it because I found you can just disconnect the main hose at the elbow part. Really fast and it means I don’t have to even take the mask off.

Performance:
I haven’t detected any leakage problems and my AHI is as low as ever with this mask. Not much else to say on performance other than the noise seems to be good due to their “Q Cover” system.

Overall, I find this mask to be fantastic. It’s comfortable, convenient, efficient, and all at a great price. I would recommend you consider it too.

Love the Mask !!!
I've had 2 of them now !!!
But the prongs on my forehead keep breaking.
Is there an option to purchase just the base peace without having to buy a whole new mask?

Fabulous fit! Nice and quiet. Best mask of the almost dozen I've tried! The design keeps it from being in the way of seeing. The louver cover with filter means I'm not blow a strong stream of air on my wife. Most intuitive design I've yet tried.

This Fisher & Paykel mask resists moving around when sleeping. It also feels light enough to not overwhelm. It has adequate adjustment for perfect fitment. I have used this mask style for the better part of a decade and will for the foreseeable future.

Craig G. You can disengage the main hose from the gray plastic end piece. The grey plastic end piece remains inside the hose but is designed to be separated from clear plastic swivel. This way you don't have to take the mask off when using the bathroom late a night. The best mask EVER!!!

Probably close to the best nasal mask i have used so far, i am using it with Icon Auto and i have never had such low AHI reading in 4 years. With the combination of the Icon Auto and this mask i average 10 instead of the prescribed 14 on my old Icon Premo.
I have used my other masks as well with the icon auto and reading are also lower but i think this mask is definitely the most efficient one for me.

This nasal mask is very easy to use. It's comfortable. After using it together with chin strap, my AHI comes down to less than 1.

I have been pleasantly surprised by this mask. It is quiet and comfortable and I have had no leaks despite a beard and sleeping on my side. Only slight problem is that it is a little hard to put back on in the dark while half asleep but I am sure a will get used to it.

Can I use this headgear for my eson 2 as well?

RespShop

This headgear is specific to just the Eson and not the Eson 2

A

I currently have an Eson headgear with the size listed as M/L.
I want to get the mask with headgear. Sizes listed are S or M or L.
So I'm not sure whether I should order M or L -- or is there a M/L option?
Thank you.

RespShop

Hello, I would order the medium as they tend to expand as you use them. If it does not work please call us back and we will help you. Thank you
