Eson 2: Quiet. Comfortable. Great seal.

Quiet.
If you are looking for a quiet mask, the Eson 2 is the answer! The reusable diffuser (the part covering the expiration valve) ensures the noise-sensitive sleeper a great night’s sleep. Although a tough tug to get off, you can wash the diffuser periodically in mild soap and water.

Comfortable. The Eson 2’s blue headgear is soft and light, making it very comfortable to wear. The special velcro on the straps is designed to be durable. You can easily remove the mask by down-twisting the clips or by pulling open the velcro straps. It is designed so the straps do not pull out all the way. Simple.

Great seal. The design of the Eson 2 makes it a great-fitting mask. The ball-and-socket design on the elbow allows more flexibility with the tubing, reducing any tugging that may cause leaks.

My customers love this mask for good reason!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean the Eson 2 Nasal Mask?

Weekly cleaning: headgear, diffuser

Daily cleaning: cushion, frame, elbow, swivel

  1. Disassemble the mask.
  2. Hand wash all parts in warm water with mild soap. Avoid soaking for more than 10 minutes and avoid scrubbing the diffuser.
  3. Rinse each part thoroughly under running water.
  4. Let the parts air dry away from direct sunlight.
How often should I replace the Eson 2 Nasal Mask?

To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.

The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.

My  Eson 2 Nasal Mask is leaking. What should I do?
  1. Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose.
  2. Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
  3. Ensure you're wearing your Eson 2 according to the fitting instructions in the user guide or the myMask app. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
  4. Adjust your headgear as necessary.
  5. Try a larger or smaller cushion size.
  6. Replace any worn out mask parts.
If your CPAP mask still leaks after following all those troubleshooting steps, a different mask style may be a better option. Feel free to contact RespShop for assistance in choosing a different mask.

Reduced both lacrimal regurgitation (dry eye) and abrasion of sinuses, works for side sleeper

Thanks to Laura at RespShop for an excellent suggestion.

P10 and similar shoot jets of air that abrade sinuses and force air through tear ducts, drying eyes.

The Eson 2's flexible and forgiving cushion does not shoot jets of air and seals as best as I could hope for a side sleeper. The Resmed equivalent lacked the flexibility in the cushion, leaked and expelled loud jets of air out its front (poor diffuser).

Now I just wish there were a version with the tubes going over my head to reduce weight on jaw and neck.

Long lasting comfort

Many don't know that the Eson 2 Mask comes in a variety of sizes and supports multiple nose size cushions. These masks last a very long time and are very comfortable.

Change of Mask Eliminates Eye Irritation

I have been a longtime user of the ResMed AirFit P10 mask. I used it in conjunction with my ResMed AirSense 10. It did its job well, but the mask’s straps would end up riding up my face and would end up next to my eyes. I suspected that my eye irritation and dryness might be related to the straps ending up near the outer edge of both eyes. Well that suspicion turns out to be right.

I also have a Breas Z2 travel CPAP, but have had a hard time finding a mask that would allow me to effectively use an HME (heat, moisture exchange) filter, with this machine. In order for any HME to work right, it has to be located next to the actual mask. The AirFit P10 has a 16” long. So the HME felt ineffective with that mask. Finally, I dummied up and called RespShop for a mask recommendation.

It was suggested that I try the Fisher and Paykel Eson 2 mask. So I went with their recommendation. It turns out that it does work well with the HME filter. BUT with the HME filter connected directly to the mask, I was developing air leaks, especially whenever I rolled to my sides.

To get around that problem, I repurposed the short tube that comes with the Qtube sound muffler.

Using that short tube, I was able to successfully address the mask leak problem. AND still have the HME filter close enough to the mask to be effective. I am finally able to use my travel CPAP without the feeling, at the end if the night, that I’m dying of dehydration in the desert.

And the unexpected bonus was that when I woke up the next morning, my eyes were not dry and irritated. And that continued every night that I used the F&P mask. So I decided to try the F&P mask with my home CPAP unit.

It turns out that the root cause for my years of eye irritation and dryness has been my previous mask!

For situations that are similar to mine, where your current mask’s straps are getting close to your eyes, I confidently recommend the F&P Eson 2 mask, as excellent alternative.

Thank you RespShop! Your folks are awesome!

Good fit even with a beard

I thought the Eson 2 mask was very comfortable, and I quickly adjusted to it. Breathing was easy, and leakage was minimal. When I need to get up, I just pop the connector off and leave the mask on, do my business, and hook it back up, and back to sleep I go.

My mask failures start with assembly. Blue and gray stripes look too similar. More difference in the hues would help. Two emails to the very patient person were big help.

The device itself fits easily with snug fit. I live alone, did not use diffuser. Operation very smooth. Temperature inside cushion rose, then settled after a few minutes.

I sleep mostly on back, legs up on pillow. Heated CPAP tube connected smoothly and effectively. Straps connected and adjusted well, which has been major problem for me in the past.

Cushion smelled bad after one night. Cleaning it will be essential.

In sum: I've used mostly nasal pillows in the past to general disgust because I can't maintain connection with latex equivalent of tissue paper (editorial comment) Air flow with this is very smooth, very steady, and reliable sleep gets better sleep. Yes! Yes! YES!

I couldn't use this for more than 2 nights. The mask frame is very large and cumbersome. It was like a presence on my face. As a side-sleeper, it was uncomfortable. You receive small, medium, and large cushions. For me, the medium was a bit too small and the large a bit too large. I had leakage from both. There are clips and velcro, a top strap, and 2 face straps...a lot to deal with to get the mask on. Be aware: This was my 2nd mask as the first one I got with my new CPAP machine was not a good fit either. The Eson was recommended by a RespShop therapist so I went with it. It was not explained to me by the therapist that it did not qualify for the 30-day trial as that's only valid with one mask purchase every 6 months.

The mask has a good fit/seal. It is little inconvenient if you move around in your bed.

My Eson 2 mask arrived a few weeks ago after I decided to upgrade from the Eson 1 that I had been using for a few years prior. The biggest upgrade is the sheer comfort I get from the Eson2. It's astounding. I can't believe I was putting up with the Eson 1 after I made the switch. It's just so different. My face also feels free in the morning and-- lo and behold-- I don't have to deal with marks on the sides of my face or on my forehead in the morning anymore either. I'm very, very happy about this to say the least. The Eson 2 is also easier to clean for me personally. And the mask works just as well as the Eson 1. I haven't had any troubles with leaks or the like.
The Eson 2 is definitely an upgrade to the Eson 1 and I recommend upgrading just for the comfort if you have the funds to do so. The comfort makes such a difference and I get better quality sleep from the eson 2 but both the Eson 1 and 2 are very good masks and I would recommend both of them to anyone.

The machine itself is good. But I absolutely hate the place where you connect the hose to the mask, it is to short and comes off way to easy. It needs to be built better. But hey it's a cpap machine that you don't need a prescription for.

I am very pleased with my new mask. Previously, I used the original Eson nasal mask. My doctor suggested that I try this updated version with my new Philips Respironics Dream Station cpap machine. This one seals well with my mustache. The new design of the clear plastic piece that runs from the forehead and down the bridge of my nose is angled a little different than the original Eson. This seems to put better pressure onto the nasal cushion and creates a better, and more quiet seal. My wife noticed a big difference. In fact, it was so quiet the first night that she says she checked on the machine while I was sleeping to be sure it was powered on! THANK YOU !

Top plastic on forehead is very delicate plastic. Mask works good if it wasn't for the weak design, need to go back to Original Eson, its made with thicker plastic around forehead area. I have had to replace 2 mask already due to same problem.

I am sorry to hear that. Please remember if your mask does not work for any reason you can contact us within 30 days for an exchange!

this is the fifth time I have had to replace this piece. Its always the same plastic pieces that break, no matter how careful
i am. It is the piece of plastic at the top of the nose piece that touches the forhead. they need to be closed to strengthen them.

The Fisher & Paykel Eson 2 is a great mask, fits well, the defuser is quiet., this is the third one I have purchased, highly recommend it

A

The Fisher & Paykel Eson 2 nasal CPAP mask is the best mask I have ever used! The customer service representative at Respshop recommended it and now I know why. I have been using a nasal pillow mask and my nose was getting sore and I had a lot of leaks. I was nervous about trying a new mask but the fit pack option made it very easy to go ahead and order. I did not have to worry about what size would be the best for me as all three sizes of cushions came with it. I didn't know a mask could fit this well or be this quiet. My partner really appreciates the filtered expiration valve too. Now the air does not blow on them and there is no noise at all. The headgear adjustments gave me the perfect fit so now I do not have mask leaks to contend with. I am able to sleep all night without being woke at all now. Respshop told me the most important piece was the mask and they are right! Now that I have a quiet and great fiitting mask, my cpap therapy is easy. If you are looking for your best mask, I recommend the Eson 2.

I have a Transcend micro for travel. I experience significant dryness with my daily mask (dream wear under the nose) even with AirMist HME.

I’m an active sleeper and am looking for a mask that will position the AirMist HME closer to the point of exhalation. Is this mask compatible with the AirMist HME and (your opinion) is this a good mask for the described purpose?

RespShop

Yes! The Eson 2 would be an excellent mask for the Airmist HME kit to do the best work as it will be closer to the point of exhalation than the Dreamwear nasal allows. This mask comes in a fit pack so you don't have to worry about size either.
