Fisher & Paykel ICON+ Auto CPAP Machine
A CPAP with a Sleek Design and Exceptional Performance
Featuring a stylish and compact design that allows for the machine to blend in perfectly with its environment, the ICON+ Auto CPAP also delivers on its performance allowing for exceptional sleep apnea therapy without the bulk and noise of other CPAP machines. The ergonomic design makes it possible to fit the machine on your bedside table, and features a built in alarm clock, allowing for reduced clutter, making your CPAP machine more versatile while giving you added bonus features that other CPAP machines do not. The ICON+ Auto CPAP is noise free resulting in a more comfortable night's sleep for you and your partner.
Auto CPAP
The ICON+ Auto CPAP machine with humidifier is designed to change pressure settings automatically as your breathing habits change over the course of the night. Using its flow based algorithm, the ICON+ will check for limitations and apneas on every breath. If and when you experience an event, the ICON+ will increase the pressure automatically until it has cleared the obstruction or it reaches its maximum pressure level, resulting in a more night's sleep.
Built in Heated Humidifier with ThermoSmart Technology
CPAP therapy generally dries the nasal passages leading to congestion, but heated humidification helps re-saturate the air reducing the congestion and providing more comfort during CPAP use. Ambient temperatures can have an effect on typical humidifiers performance, but with ThermoSmart technology the ICON+ Auto CPAP Machine with Humidifier delivers custom humidification levels that are maintained throughout CPAP use no matter what the outside temperatures are, reducing condensation in the mask and providing better therapy. You can also purchase heated tubing
to reduce rainout and provide constant temperatures.
Dishwasher Safe Water Chamber
Holding up to 420 milliliters of water, this one piece chamber
is easy to remove and clean, including working in a dishwasher to reduce the daily maintenance required for CPAP therapy users.
InfoSmart
The ICON+ Auto's USB SmartStick can record up to a year's worth of compliance data, 30 days' worth of AHI pressure and leaking data, and cumulative data that allows the user to manage and store their data in whichever way they choose, resulting in a more efficient way of analyzing and sharing data with health care providers.
SensAwake Breathing Algorithm
Pressure is dropped automatically when the user wakes up after a night of CPAP therapy, reintroducing the user to normal conditions and relieving the user of any potential irritations. When your breathing patterns become irregular, SensAwake automatically reduces pressure to help reduce the amount of times CPAP therapy users wake up in the middle of the night.
Travel Friendly
Compact design that is light weight for the users, the ICON Auto CPAP machine with humidifier is travel friendly, reducing travel stresses that come with logging heavier, bulkier, CPAP devices around in luggage.
Default Settings:
- Pressure Range: 4-18 cm H2O

Reviewers Tip:
The water chamber in the ICON+ Auto CPAP Machine is much easier than other water chambers that I have dealt with. There are no latches or buttons to press, just twist the lid, lift up, and pull out the water chamber to dump out any excess water from the previous night and refill with new water. As with all CPAP machines where you use a humidifier, I recommend using distilled water to lengthen the life of the chamber and to receive best results from your CPAP therapy.

FAQ
I am used to having a humidifier with my CPAP machines, where I can I purchase a humidifier for the ICON?
The ICON Auto actually comes with a built in heated humidifier that works with normal tubing, providing bonus comfort to CPAP machines that do not have humidifiers. You can also purchase heated tubing for additional relief depending on your personal preferences.
Is there a mask included in the purchase of this machine?
No, all masks come separately from machines allowing you to choose your preferred mask and size. All of the masks sold at RespShop are compatible with this machine and any of our CPAP, APAP, or BiPAP machines so that you have a wide variety of choices available to you.

great instruction and easy follow. it has made my treatments more comfortable. And i sleep through the night completely.
A very well made product. i highly recommend this unit.
He has changed my life and saved the wedding!
Very Good, and quiet, and big sale
At $600 to $2,500 locally, dental appliance is an excellent option (yet mine just cracked).
In order of things I have not tried: exercises listed on web and, at about 2$ per night, Provent seems the best bet for airplane travel or the occasional overnight away.
If you suffer from daytime drowsiness, the only good evidence is that machine works more effectively than tooth appliance (pulling lower jaw forward).

I ordered this machine on 27th march. The machine arrived in Abu Dhabi, UAE on 6th April via USPS. I was using the Fisher Paykel HC254 autocpap machine earlier for almost 5 years. This machine is more compact compared to the earlier machine.
The settings on the machine are also simpler and the display is much bigger. The humidifier removal and cleaning is quite easy. The humidifier container can be dismantled entirely for cleaning which is a big advantage as the humidifier container was sealed in the earlier machine that I had. I am also using a software- Sleepy Head to read the data from the USB on Linux and it works like a charm. I am able to monitor my sleep also.
I get a feeling that the pressure on this machine is lower than what was with the earlier machine when I wake up, but it may be due to the Sense Awake monitoring which might be reducing the pressure when I wake up. Even though the humidifier container looks only slightly smaller than the previous machine, I find that the water has to be replaced more frequentlty.
Overall, I am very satisified with the performance of this machine.
Congratulations sales team! Now I have a quiet and restful sleep!
We are located in Australia and it came really quickly.
It is whisper quiet and we are super happy. :-)
The price is great. Thanks.
With such excellent prices no need to buy from expensive shops in australia.
I had an Icon Premo i purchaase 4 years ago in Australi for $900+ dollars, noisy had Fisher Paykel replce it within the first 12 Months and the replacement was no quieter. I purchased Icon Auto for $571 US dollars ($2,500AU if purchased in Aust).
Icon Auto i purchased is so quite you don't even know it's on if it was for the air coming out of the tube.
i simply set machine to 20 high & 4 low and it works out the pressure all by itself. My average ready with this machine has been 10 to 11 and i was prescribed 14, i am as rested and not waking up to a noisy Icon Premo i had.
Quite frankly i strongly recommend Auto CPAP's and get it with the heated tubing well worth it.
I have 4 different masks and works well with all of them, the new Pillaro Q nasal pillow is quiter, so now i have also purchased the new Eson mask.
Good job Respshop.
price is super high.
the cheapest i can get is around USD650 but a manual one not even with humidifier.
lucky enough i found this website with amazing price tag.
the only thing hold me back is the location. I'm not familiar with international shopping. But since i'm have no other option
i just hope for the best.
It took 8 days from there to Malaysia.
advantages :
it work like a clock. nobody will notice it's a cpap unless you hookup the hose.
able to set a timer, control the volume, and even change the melody
starting pressure is so soft for me. i cant differentiate the air is pumping.
it stop my snoring !
if i'm in the aircond the humidifier will normalise the air
if i'm in dusty area / haze i'm protected with the cpap air filter. _--- this is so great (haze is severe in malaysia)
disadvantage
it only have 1 button, takes sometime to get use to it.
very tricky to turn off. sometime after i wakeup just press once to off, but some time twice , trice just keep pressing and wait for few second after each pressing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
combine with nasal pillow it give me total comfort since it is so soft and small and of course very comfortable.
I am an Australian buyer and was cautious buying from the US. I had long chats with the online staff and then I made my purchase. This machine has a RRP of $1400 plus in Australia. You do have to get an electricity adapter for it to work however I was able to buy that in the bundle as well. I purchased through Paypal for added safety. I ordered on a Friday and the machine was on my doorstep 8 days later. I'll now make all my purchase through Respshop because they can't be beaten on price!
I live in Sweden and waited no more than 48 hrs for delivery - excellent service by FedEx, who also gave me a choice to have it delivered to my work adress instead of at home. A text message a day in advance asking the client "where are you gonna be tomorrow and would it be more convenient to have it delievered to that adress?". Smart, beautiful!
Setting up the machine was very easy. The awsome Respironics FullLife Fitpack Mask was very comfortable and I got used to wearing the hole "outfit" in a snap. And - as some of you have posted here - the sound from my breathing was louder than the machine. Fantastic that it is so quiet.
I can really recommend this state of art machine.
Looking forward to sleeping and waking up after a full nights sleep many years to come.

OVERALL A++++
My overall experience of purchasing the product was great.
When I received the machine I was excited to try it as I had used one for the last 12 months gave it back thinking I don't need this as I hate the whole idea of wearing a mask and being attached to a machine to sleep.
I forgot to get a travel adaptor so after purchasing one from Dick Smith I started my cpap machine and forgot about what a great sleep you have with these machines.
I tried living in denial ' I dont need this machine but I do.
If you to are living in denial too, buy from this wonderful company that doesn't hesitate to give you great advice and the best service. Sleep well its worth every cent.
As per Respshop's policy and promise, - I received my auto CPAP machine through the efficient service of FEDEX upon my arrival at the hotel on Friday, 15th June 2012, initiating a wonderful four week family holiday in the USA.
Since my family and I were so impressed with the competent service offered by Respshop, we paid their despatch centre in Bellvue, Seattle a visit, meeting Respshop sales team who were all most hospitable and helpful, - a great team.
Although the Fisher & Paykel and Resmed CPAP machines are said to be manufactured and sold in Australia, I found the Respshop prices to be significantly cheaper than they are in Australia.
On Tuesday, 10th July 2012, while in San Diego, I notified the Respshop that my F&P "Forma" full face mask's foam cushion had broken at the 'nose bridge' and required replacing.
Bich corresponded through the Respshop's on-line chat line and offered to send on a replacement over night to my hotel in San Diego.
Again, as promised, it was delivered by Fedex the next day or Wednesday 11th July 2012 along with other items included in my order.
I have full praise for the Respshop, Fedex and I am now having a good night's sleep every night with the assistance of my robust and reliable Fisher & Paykel, "Icon".
Congratulations, Respshop sales team on your great Respshop.
I have had access to access to an Icon for a two week period, at the direction of my doctor, to trail the machine for suitability and compatibility. I write this short review after one full nights use of my own purchased new machine. All in all, the machine is wonderful. Its easy menu makes programming a very simple process and it delivers a full range of user friendly, useful functions that should met the most demanding of customers. Its winter out here at the moment, so the atmosphere is cold and damp. It also purchased the heated delivery hose (I believe only the Fisher Paykel machines have this feature) and it's completely overcome the issue of 'rain out'. If your not sure what that is, it's when the cold room temperature causes the humidified air in your hose to condense and run down the hose and into your mask. Its a rather unpleasant experience and should be avoided if possible. The heated hose seems to solve that issue, at least it has for me. It's great.
My previous experience with the machine involved the use of an Respironics easylife mask, but I purchased an Opus Nasal pillow to try, and it's also been very good. I find I am a fairly restless sleeper and tend to roll a lot from side to side. Even though the easylfe is renowned for its sealing ability, I found the seal often broke as a result of my movement. To date, no such problem with the nasal pillow, its comfortable, but allows for independent movement without loss of pressure. I'd really recommend this for anyone having similar issues.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with my experiences. looking forward to many years of restful sleep.
I had mentioned in my order the cm settings of my prescription. I was advised by email that I could download manuals etc, and downloaded a manual which provided me with advice on accessing the clinicians' menu - which I did, and there confirmed that the cm settings of my script had been put into the machine before despatch. Excellent. I had to set the time AND set the time zone, not hard to do.
I had rented a ResMed AutoSet machine after diagnosis and used it for a week. I had planned to buy the same item for long term use, but in Australia the price of the Australian ResMed machine was quoted as $1965. Much less at this online store, but at the checkout I learned that they were not allowed to export ResMed products, though they could export anything else. (A restraint on trade by ResMed which to my mind may be contrary to the Australia-US Free Trade Agreement, Chapter 14, and Australia's COMPETITION AND CONSUMER ACT 2010 - SECT 45B).
So that is why I opted instead for this New Zealand product plus Fisher Paykel Forma Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear... wondering how smart if was to order items unseen. In the event, very pleased......
The ICON Auto is very simple to set up, in its bag it seems lighter (and the bag is smaller) than the Resmed machine. Elsewhere reviewers have made these comparisons:
- Resmed S9 24 decibels, Icon 30 --- I can't tell the difference, if anything the Icon seems quieter, even though it sits up high on bedside cupboard, while I had to put the Redmed lower, out of line of sight from bed-top, in a drawer hung way out, no room on top;
- Resmed easier to take out humidifier, clean and replace, they said elsewhere.... If you have severe arthritis you may find twisting and untwisting the lid on the Icon a little difficult but you may find the front catch of the Resmed tricky too. It's very simple to clean the Icon, not as complex to put it back together as is the ResMed, with its three piece water container.
My other thoughts:
- the smaller footprint of the Icon is very helpful, compared with the wide shelf space of Resmed S9 (see decibels para above).
- the exit for the pipe on the Icon has a swivel, which means also less space, and you can aim the tube where you wish. I did buy the heated tube for the Icon, you should do that, to avoid germ-collecting puddles in the tube (not just a matter for cold places, I think).
- the awake sensor seems interesting, it appears to downshift the air supply, encouraging you to take the mask off. This in contrast to my experience with the ResMed which seems to be something of an affront on waking, shoving buckets of air down my system, making me gasp and open my mouth (perhaps because I have woken from an apnea event which it has responded to???)
.
- I haven't figured out how to leave the Icon clock visible, but as I expect less wake-ups now (continuing from experience with the S9), this may not matter!
I had been using ResMed Mirage Activaâ„¢ LT Nasal Mask ($99 here, $250 or so in Australia, sigh). Comfortable but not solving a mouth breathing problem entirely. So I ordered the Fisher Paykel Forma Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear and it seems both comfortable and very simple to take apart and clean.
In sum: both machines are good. I cannot support the inclination on the web to rate the ResMed higher. The Icon suits me fine, perhaps more than the S9.
The device is very quite except when he boosts up to 18 Hpa, where it becomes a little bit more noisy. The setting is very simple.
My big issue was to find a definitive solution to my snore problems, becoming more and more persistent. Now my wife is happy and can enjoy the sleep beside me and I could no longer imagine sleeping without my F&P Auto-Icon.
A lot of my friends were getting excited about it and should also become regular users soon, before having to go for separate rooms.
the downside of this CPAP machine is you cannot download the data to your computer unless you have the sleepyhead software and that is not working .
the other disadvantage of this machine is the water chamber.it stains or rusted at the metal rings at the bottom of the plastic chamber. I have tried to clean it with vinegar and detergent but still cannot remove the stain/rust.
J'aurais toutefois aimé savoir que le montant indiqué sur la facture était en dollars américain.
Mais dans l'ensemble j'apprécie énormément le service que vous m'avez offert.
Merci et Bonne année 2018, à toute l'équipe!
Roger
I'm interested in buying this machine for both need to know if you would send to Brazil? What fees must I pay you to send to me.
I await answer, thanks
Marco Freitas
The machine works fine, however the lid design is awful. 3 smal plastic nubs are supposed to secure the top lid. I have had this machine for less than 6 months, and the nubs are broken. The machine is worthless without a secure lid. I am a mechanical engineer and there is no way this lid design will hold up to continued use. Poor design!!!
