AirCurve 10 VAuto VPAP from ResMed

The AirCurve 10 VAuto is an automatic bi-level device that delivers effective therapy for a wide range of users noncompliant with traditional CPAP devices. This ResMed VPAP machine comes with a host of comfort features, including TiControl, EasyBreathe technology, a new humidification system, and expiratory pressure relief. It comes with large buttons and an intuitively designed screen capable of letting you know everything from therapy to data to the quality of your mask seal. You can begin and end your therapy sessions easily with SmartSmart and SmartStop technology that allows you to start and end therapy with just a breath, while a brand new ramp system lets you fall asleep easily while delaying the onset of pressure by up to forty-five minutes. The AirCurve 10 S is a premier VPAP machine and represents the top of the line among bi-level devices.

Automatic Bi-Level Treatment
The AirCurve 10 VAuto is a bi-level therapy device that can determine when you're having a respiratory disturbance. This ResMed VPAP machine will adjust the pressure depending on your needs throughout the night, increasing pressure when you're having an apnea, and allowing you to operate your device at the lowest pressure setting possible for your therapeutic needs. This not only ensures that you have the least invasive and obtrusive therapy possible, but also that you can save energy if you're powering your device with a battery as opposed to a plug-in cord.

Easy Breathe
Easy Breathe technology works by making your respiratory cycle smooth. Easy Breathe helps to regulate pressure, ensuring that you can exhale at a lower air pressure setting than you inhale at. This helps to make your therapy comfortable and allows you to sleep undisturbed.

Pressure Range
The AirCurve 10 VAuto features a pressure range of 3-25 cm H20, which offers both higher and lower pressure settings than a typical CPAP machine. The elevated pressure capabilities are ideal for users with severe forms of sleep apnea, who generally require a high-pressure setting.

Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR)
One of the top features on the AirCurve line of machines is expiratory pressure relief, also known as EPR. EPR works by decreasing the AirCurve's pressure at the onset of each of your breaths and then limiting pressure through exhalation. Pressure will drop by one, two, or three cm pressure depending on your settings and personal preferences. These pressure reductions occur gradually and will help you stay asleep while you breathe throughout the night. EPR also is capable of detecting unnatural respiration: if an apnea lasts for longer than ten seconds, EPR will stop functioning until you resume your normal breathing cycle.

AirView Data Management
ResMed is offering a new data management service where your sleep apnea information can be stored in the cloud and retrieved via your doctor for easy readouts. AirView can also send alerts to your phone via text or voice mail or through email to alert you of mask leaks and other potential issues with your CPAP therapy. Free service with the purchase of a machine at RespShop. Please contact RespShop customer service to register your machine. Read more about AirView Data Management.

SmartStart, SmartStop
The AirCurve 10 VAuto allows you to start and terminate your therapy easily with SmartStart/SmartStop. Once your settings have been programmed into the device, you can commence therapy simply by turning your machine on and breathing into your mask. Using SmartStop is just as simple: to end therapy, just remove your mask and your machine will shut off after a few seconds.

HumidAir Humidification
ResMed overhauled their humidification system with the AirCurve series. Now, the new Humidair heated humidifier comes as a part of every AirCurve VPAP, which helps to make the machine a bit smaller and more portable than previous models. If you don't normally use heated humidification, you still have the option of receiving therapy without it: simply remove the humidifier or leave the water chamber empty. For users who do like heated humidification, fill the 380 ml water chamber, and enjoy protection against unwanted symptoms like nasal congestion and rainout.

Brand New Ramp
The AirCurve features a slightly tweaked ramp device from previous ResMed VPAP machines. In the AirCurve 10 VAuto, you can delay the onset of pressure for up to 45 minutes, allowing you to fall asleep naturally and without an injection of air pressure. After a time, the ramp will kick in and increase the pressure until the machine reaches your desired settings. This will allow you to fall asleep easily without compromising the quality of your therapy and is particularly recommended for users adjusting to CPAP therapy.

Bright Screen; New Controls
The AirCurve 10 VAuto is ResMed's most intuitive line of VPAPs yet. The machine comes with a bright and easy to use screen and features large buttons and simple controls. The machine automatically adjusts screen brightness based on the available surrounding light, allowing you to see your screen easily at all hours of the day and night.

Optional ClimateLineAir Tubing
Every ResMed 10 machine is compatible with the new ClimateLineAir heated tube. The tube seamlessly connects between your mask and machine and allows you to breathe warm air all night long. The tube ferries warm air from the humidifier to your airways, further bolstering your defenses against symptoms like nasal congestion and rainout.

Mask Fitting
The AirCurve also comes with a mask fitting feature that detects the quality of your seal right on the machine! The system is capable of reporting whether your mask is on correctly or if it needs to be fastened: a happy face will appear on the screen if your mask is on properly while a frown indicates that your mask requires adjustment for successful therapy.

Let's talk about the ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto with HumidAir. My clients love the details this unit brings to their sleep nights. If there ever is a unit that has gadgets galore, then look right here, the AirCurve 10 maybe the unit your wanting!

The ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto will adjust breath-by-breath to deliver its air pressure for inhalation and exhalation. The humidification has been upgraded by adding the HumidAir heated humidifier. This will auto-adjust the humidity based on the room temperature, and the ClimateLineAir heated tubing is a great option to combine with your HumidAir.

There is a unique tool; AirCurve 10 offers to help my COPD/ obstructive lung disease clients. It is called the TiControl, which will monitor my client's inhalation and exhalation pattern. The TiControl will help detect delayed changes in their breathing, which is cycling. The Aircurve 10 will set a minimum and maximum time limit. By setting the time limit, it helps prevent cycling. So, if my client's breathing is slow, the AirCurve 10 alters its timing of when to deliver the pressure. It helps my client get back on track with the set limits of the machine. Any of my COPD/obstructive lung disease will get a better comprehensive therapy.

The AirCurve 10 has many bells and whistles. From Mask Fit seal check, Expiratory Pressure Relief, to Leak Alert to SmartStart, the LCD is user-friendly, with a comfortable grip dial to navigate through the menu's options. It certainly will make adapting to your Aircurve 10 fun!

Just like the AirSense 10, the AirCurve 10 also has Expiratory Pressure Relief technology. The Expiratory Pressure Relief will help with natural breathing and allow you to have comfort while exhaling through your mask. Expiratory Pressure Relief lowers your pressure during exhalation, so you do not feel like you are suffocating, which can cause my clients to stop therapy. It's a great feature that has helped my clients continue to use their BiPAP machine with ease and comfort.

Ramp still shows its face with the AirCurve 10. It's mainly used to help decrease pressures so you can fall asleep faster. With BiLevel Auto modes, the expiratory pressure will start low and gradually increase over an extended period until it reaches your prescribed pressures. Then add in Vsync Technology, which checks your masks for leaks throughout the night along with auto-adjusting pressures to maintain correct therapy pressure makes for some great nights of sleep! Even though the AirCurve 10 is a little more expensive than other BiLevel Autos on the market, it will come with a 2-year warranty. My customer says you get what you pay for with this unit, and in the end, isn't a good night's sleep worth it? I sure think so!

What is the primary difference between a bi-level device and a traditional CPAP?
Bi-level devices feature a higher range of pressure options and are designed for users with intense forms of sleep apnea.

Should I remove the water chamber prior to filling it up?
Yes, the water chamber should always be removed from the machine before you fill it with water.

Does this machine come with washable filters?
It does not. The filters are disposable and should be thrown out if they get dirty or wet.

Subject: ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto with HumidAir
The ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto with HumidAir is a very nice bipap machine. I've used other brand names since 2001 and this is the best machine that I have ever used. The myAir app could be better and the screen could stay on a little longer. But the machine it self is great.

I have had my CPAP machine for two years now, and this is the best unit I've had over the past 10 years. It is easy to use, and very quiet.
I would highly recommend this CPAP machine .

I am a practicing respiratory therapist with some technical knowledge of sleep medicine; and a Resmed auto titration CPAP user for greater than 5 years. Recently retested for onset of symptoms of daytime sleepiness and advanced to bilevel positive airway pressure. I have been using this machine with a heated hose and nasal pillows for about two weeks;

The device's response to my breathing has been faultless. Especially noticeable, is how easily I am able to begin exhalation after receiving assistance with taking a breath in! Even if I consciously "force" the beginning of my breath out, the device instantly removes the pressure support of inspiration, and I feel absolutely no resistance to breathing out.

HOWEVER, the engineering of the humidification system is seriously flawed. The volume of the water chamber is too small and therefore the units ability to provide high humidity for an entire nights sleep is compromised!

I have chronic sinus issues.....and live in a wintry area; therefore require increased heat/humidity from my sleep machine during "heating season." I would turn my Resmed Autoset II humidifier to almost the highest heat setting. My tubing had a thermal wrap and heating wire to prevent rainout. I would fill the humidifier to capacity each evening and enjoy therapeutically moist air throughout the night, via nasal pillows. I would awake with clear nasal passages and normal sinus fluid drainage.

When I attempt to duplicate this with the new unit the humidity chamber runs dry at some point in the night! I awaken with a dry chamber, nose and oral cavity.

Having read the information in the help pages of Resmed, I slept with a chin strap to assure no leakage due to open mouth without improvement.

Using the autoset feature of the humidifier and a tubing temperature setting of 72-74 degress F allowed the fill of the humidifier to last the night (less than a tablespoon of water left when the fill was slightly above the max fill line) but still left my mouth dry and my nasal passages with crusty mucus deposits.

When I spoke with my sleep contact, they said MANY customers complained of the poor design of the humidifier. They said they had personally spoken to ResMed about this issue and were told there was no plan to redesign the system (in other words, "too bad").

Not very heartening from a company with such an altruistic mission statement.

So...I cannot recommend this unit.....and will likely return mine before the end of my return period; to select another brand with better humidification capacity.......emphasizing that if you live in more temperate climates, without wintertime heating, this may be the very device for you.

Is this unit for sale or just rental payments? If so, what is the sale price? (Asked on 10/07/2021)
The unit is currently out of stock, you are able to check out with affirm to finance the unit
Do they make a 12v power supply for the AirCurve 10 VAuto?
We camp a lot and use a 12v electric generator to power my cpap (Asked on 09/25/2021)
Yes, a 12V converter is available.
Do you ship internationally (e.g. to Singapore) and if so do you require a US prescription (would Singapore prescription suffice)? (Asked on 09/12/2021)
We cannot ship this product internationally, unfortunately. We do however accept international prescriptions. If you can have it shipped to a friend or relative in the US that would work.
Is this considered a ventilator? I am being told no but I noticed that there is a backup rate setting under S mode (even though some US users are saying that they don't see it). What is the backup rate setting under S mode do? Is it the same as ventilation even though it is either 10bpm and off? I also noticed that in the manual it says not all settings are available in all region - is this setting available if I buy a machine from you? (Asked on 09/12/2021)
Hi, This doesn't consider a ventilator and as per our conversation today in the online chat you can contact our medical staff on Monday at 866-936-3754. Thanks
How do you clean? (Asked on 08/30/2021)
For machine cleaning: unplug machine - remove the water chamber, open it up and wash with warm soapy water (use mild soap). Let chamber air dry. Disconnect hose from machine and wash with mild soap as well. You can also use a CPAP hose brush (please see comfort and cleaning under CPAP supplies) to clean the inside of your tubing.
If I decide to get a new machine from you, will Medicare cover it, plus my secondary insurance. (Asked on 08/19/2021)
Please check with them first so you are making an informed purchase. Every 5 years a cpap is covered.
The pressure on my machine varies greatly and goes from loud (high wind sound) to silent. The tube connection to machine seems lose. What are my options? (Asked on 08/07/2021)
Please ensure you have the right end of the tubing plugged into your device. There should be a chip that clicks into your device if you have a heated tube. The tube shouldn't ever be loose if clicked into the device properly. Please give us a call if you have further questions: 1-866-936-3754.
Can I use the So-Clean machine with my Air Curve VAuto? (Asked on 07/16/2021)
You can with special adapter but we don't suggest using a SoClean device on your machine as it can damage the device and cause it to break down.
Is a bi level machine the same as Bi Pap? I have central apnea. I need a new machine because of the philips recall (Asked on 07/11/2021)
Yes, Bi-Level, and BiPAP are the same. Some devices have specific settings that you may require. It is important to have your physician provide you with a prescription, so that we can make sure your settings would match with this device. Thank you.
I would like to buy resmet aircurve10. Do I need to get prescription from doctor? (Asked on 06/21/2021)
That is correct, we require a prescription for this device.
