DreamWear Full Face Mask - Philips Respironics

The Philips Respironics DreamWear Full Face mask is a lightweight, compact mask perfect for full-face mask users who want a comfortable, unobstructed mask for use with CPAP or BIPAP! The DreamWear Full Face uses an under-the-nose, over-the-mouth cushion with the tubular silicone frame common to all DreamWear masks.

Air from the CPAP circuit flows from a swiveling elbow connection at the crown of the head, through the frame, into the mouth, and the nose. the four-point headgear attaches to the cushion with magnets and steadies the frame on the face.

The DreamWear Full Face cushion rests under the nose while covering the mouth. Front-facing air vents quiet exhaled air. The DreamWear Full Face mask assembles and disassembles easily for cleaning.

Over-the-head circuit connection
With the DreamWear’s innovative frame design, airflow filters seamlessly through the frame to the cushion. The hose connection placed at the top of the head swivels to allow the user to turn naturally and sleep in every possible position.

Under-the-nose design
Traditional full-face CPAP masks leave red marks and irritation on the nose bridge. With the DreamWear's innovative, under-the-nose, over-the-mouth design, you can receive the benefits of full-face mask CPAP therapy without any rigid plastic pressed into the bridge of the nose!

Open field of vision
Since there is no bulky headgear or plastic touching the forehead or crowding the eyes, you have an open field of vision. This allows you to easily wear your glasses or watch TV in bed.

Magnetic quick-release clips
Magnetic quick-release clips hold the headgear to the cushion. The magnetic clips are a blessing for those who have limited hand movement. There will be no more difficulties in the middle of the night when you need to take off your mask, as it is super easy to take off and put it back on again.

The headgear is one size fits all. The DreamWear frame comes in small, medium, and large. The DreamWear full-face cushion comes in small, medium, large, and medium-wide.

Available cushion options include full face, nasal, and nasal pillow cushions.

To use the DreamWear nasal cushion or nasal pillows with the DreamWear Full mask, you just need to acquire:

  1. DreamWear Nasal Pillows or DreamWear Nasal Cushion
  2. DreamWear Headgear with Arms

Sizing from one type of cushion to another does not always translate. To be sure of your size in nasal pillows or nasal cushion, check out the corresponding sizing gauge located above on the tab labeled “Size Gauge”.

Can I clean my mask in the dishwasher?
Once a week, you can put the frame, cushion, elbow, and quick-release connector in the top rack of the dishwasher. Use a mild detergent. Dry with an air dry cycle or lay the parts out to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not put the headgear in the dishwasher.

Weekly dishwasher cleaning supplements daily mask cleaning. It does not replace it.

Does the DreamWear Full Face mask work with the new DreamWear Headgear with Arms?
No. The DreamWear full-face cushion needs four points of attachment.

Reviewer’s Tip

Careful sizing of both the face cushion and the frame is vital to successful CPAP therapy with the DreamWear Full Face mask. The face cushion should sit entirely under the nose, but none of the nose should sit inside the cushion opening. The optimal frame size depends on the length of your face. The medium frame is a good starting point for most people. The frame should not touch the ears or eyes.

A Fit Pack option includes all four sizes of cushions and a medium frame. The DreamWear Full mask is sold in a variety of other packaging options, as well.

Recommended If You Have Facial Hair

If you are still shopping and looking for additional guidance on masks to consider, read on!

We all have unique facial structures and RespShop stocks a large variety of masks for CPAP so that everyone can find something that works best for them. Facial hair simply adds another wrinkle to the search for the mask that is your ticket to better sleep. For mouth-breathing beard wearers, don’t worry. Look for full-face designs that rest low on the chin or that have soft frames that conform to the face. The DreamWear Full Face CPAP Mask uses a hybrid cushion that sits under the nose and over the mouth. This hybrid type of mask works very well with facial hair.

When shopping for a CPAP mask to wear with facial hair, don’t fall into the trap of sizing up. Use the size guide and select the size that fits your facial structure. Over-sizing results in leaks, frustration, and discomfort.

The top of the head attachment for the hose is perfect for people that toss and turn. My husband found this face mask worked the best for him, especially since he sleeps on his side mostly. The fit has been right on for him.

Was delivered very quickly. It is just like the one I used in clinical trial. It came with all the needed parts. Sleep very well. The price was great. Thanks so much!

Great mask in the size configuration I was in need of. Not available anywhere else even my usual medical supplier. Great service as well. Highly recommend.

I find the mask air leakage is inconsistent. I am trying to figure out why some days is 100% fit while other days are 54%. The air leakage has exceeded 2 hours. I am really baffled and do not know what to do. The mask size is what they recommended at the sleep study.

This is the best designed full face ever! It took a few days to get used to but after that it was perfect. This complaint about air being blocked is a non issue. The air travels down both sides of the mask so If one side is blocked it comes down the other side.

I don't know what the other user is talking about. I've used the nasal-only version of this mask for a little over 2 years and just switched to this one. Side-sleeping is not a problem with either. The whole point of using this mask is that it allows you to move and not lose the seal or pressure. Air comes down both sides.

There is no more comfortable mask than the DreamWear. I've used several before finally finding as close to perfection as possible.

In theory the mask is ideal. However the side air tubes are constricted when side sleeping making the mask dangerous to use.

I am returning the mask today.

I use a Bipap machine with high pressure (20). Will I be able to pull this full-face mask against my face tight enough to achieve a leak proof seal? I've tried other masks and the head gear would not pull the mask close enough to get a good seal.
With a pressure that high it will be very difficult to seal a mask. You may try it and if it doesn't work we do have a 30 assurance program for store credit. If you would like to talk to a Respiratory Therapist more about this issue please call our office and talk with our professional staff. Thank you
Hi, do I require prescription for this mask?
Hi there, a prescription is not required for a mask. Please choose send mask dissembled when checking out.
Is this strictly a nasal mask, or for nasal & mouth breathers?
This is a full face mask.
Hi, How do I know which is the correct mask size for me? I do have an Amara FullFace mask medium size, but the fit is the same?
Hello! All of the masks fit slightly differently. You can find the pdf size guide on the product page to ensure a good fit.
I am new to sleep apnea therapy. My sleep doctor sold me a ResMed device. My mask is the type that has two nose holes, and I am having a lot of trouble with them moving around and blocking my breathing, so the doctor recommended a DreamWear full face mask because it only has one large hole for breathing. Are the tubing, elbow, and hose compatible with a ResMed device for fit? I saw on the video that the elbow to hose connection is different than my ResMed. Also, do I also need to get new headgear or will the Dreamwear configuration work with the ResMed headgear?
Hi there, all of our masks are interchangeable with our machines. The only exception being the Airmini CPAP. The tube fitting for the Dreamwear mask will need to fit into the tubing so you can quickly connect/disconnect the mask. Dreamwear has it's own headgear, so it will not work with a different mask's headgear.
how do you determine the head gear size?
Here are the Dimensions

Small Frame - 19" in length
Medium Frame - 20" in length
Large Frame - 22" in length
Is the medium cushion larger "all-over" (the entire part that covers the face) than the small cushion?

or - does it only have a larger hole under the nose than the small cushion?
HI the mask will be lager as a whole. Thank you
What is the difference between the DSX400H11 and the DSX500H11 machine?
Also, for the mask, what is the size options?
DSX400H11 - is a fixed pressure Cpap. The DSX500H11 is an AUTO machine, delivering the pressure you require from a min/max setting range. The Dreamwear full face has frame sizes in S,M,L and the cushion in S,M,L,MW. Please contact us for more information.
does this come with hose and will it work with my res med machine
The mask only comes with a swivel but not tubing. It is compatible to any CPAP machine.
