ResMed AirFit F30i Full Face CPAP Mask
The AirFit F30i is ResMed’s full face mask entry into their line of tube up masks for CPAP users. With a wide-open mask frame design and a cleverly contoured minimal contact facial cushion, the F30i results in fewer red marks, accommodates side sleepers, and negates claustrophobia concerns some may have with other full face masks.
A top of the head connection to the circuit from the CPAP machine keeps the tubing out of the way throughout sleep. Air flow travels through a soft silicone frame to the face cushion. The F30i’s ultra-compact cushion sits over the mouth and under the nose, never touching the nasal bridge.
Minimal contact full face mask
The F30i weighs very little for a full face mask and comprises of only a few mask components. The face cushion sits low on the face, covering the mouth and resting under the nose. A soft silicone conduit frame crosses the crown of the head and extends across both cheeks, away from the eyes.
The flow from the CPAP machine enters the connecting elbow at the top of the head and travels through the conduit frame to the facial cushion. The one-size-fits-all headgear attaches to the silicone frame and rests low behind the head, with no points of contact across the forehead. The frame, headgear, and cushion leave the center of the face untouched. The low profile F30i full face mask allows for the use of glasses and leaves vision entirely unobstructed.
Sleep the way you want
The facial cushion is curved to deliver stable performance and a fit that endures all night long, regardless of sleeping position. The contours of the mask prevent compression during side sleeping.
Accordion-style ribbing across the crown of the head automatically conforms the frame to the individual user’s head size. The top-up design and self-adjusting frame also stabilize the mask for any sleeping position. The top of the head connection not only keeps the tubing out of the way regardless of position, but it also delivers CPAP flow through the hollow frame to the over the mouth cushion.
Simple to fit & comfortable to wear
The AirFit F30i slips on over the head with ease. Magnetic clips connect the frame to the cushion. Four points of attachment let you customize the mask for your best fit.
The hose from your CPAP machine connects at the crown of the head to a swiveling, quick-release elbow that moves 360 degrees. The quick-release elbow offers freedom of movement and supports rapid connections and disconnections from your CPAP machine.
The silicone frame flattens for comfort along the cheeks during side sleeping but air flow continues uninterrupted through the opposite side of the frame. Air vents on the elbow and the face cushion direct air flow away from you and your partner for a quieter night's rest.
- Ultra-compact full face mask
- Flexible conduit frame
- Top of the head elbow connection
Sizing and Fitting
Careful sizing of both the face cushion and the frame is essential to attain the full benefits of all the unique features this mask offers.
The ResMed F30i comes in three frame sizes (small, standard, and large), and the face cushion comes in four sizes (small, medium, small – wide, and wide).
The cushion size is determined by the length and width of your nose. ResMed has a size guide to select the best cushion size for your face. Print the guide out and place it under your nose or use the one included in the starter pack. Scale up to the larger cushion if either the length or the width of the nose lands in the next size up.
The optimally fitting frame centers on the head and is not too close or far from the eyes and ears.
- Undo the magnetic clips from both sides of the cushion.
- Hold the cushion under the nose with one hand.
- Pull the headgear and frame over the head with the other hand.
- Attach the lower headgear straps to the cushion with the magnetic clips on both sides.
- Evenly adjust both sides of the upper straps.
- Evenly adjust both sides of the lower straps.
Adjusting for leaks
- Adjust the top straps for leaks under the nose.
- Adjust the bottom straps for leaks around the mouth.
- Pull the facial cushion away from the nose and mouth and reseat it to remove wrinkles that cause leaks.
- Try a different size face cushion or a different size frame if leaks persist or require excessive tightening of the headgear.
Important: Air flows out of the vents in the cushion and elbow. Do not mistake this for a leak. Do not cover these ports.

Does this mask block my nose so that I cannot breathe through it?
No, the full face cushion does not occlude the nostrils. It sits under the nose and has slits, so airflow moves into your nose and mouth. If you are not feeling airflow into your nose, consider a larger or wider cushion size.
I have the AirFit N30i. Can I swap the F30i cushion into that mask?
No. The AirFit N30i and AirFit F30i use different headgear to hold the cushion to the frame. The full face F30i has four-point headgear to get the best fit under the nose and the mouth.
Recommended If You Have Facial Hair
If you are still shopping and looking for additional guidance on masks to consider, read on!
We all have unique facial structures and RespShop stocks a large variety of masks for CPAP so that everyone can find something that works best for them. Facial hair simply adds another wrinkle to the search for the mask that is your ticket to better sleep. For you mouth breathing beard wearers, don’t worry. Look for full face designs that rest low on the chin or that have soft frames that conform to the face. The ResMed AirFit F30i uses a hybrid cushion that sits under the nose and over the mouth. This hybrid type of mask works very well with facial hair as it sports a pliable silicone frame that customizes the fit for folks with beards.
When shopping for a CPAP mask to wear with facial hair, don’t fall into the trap of sizing up. Use size guide and select the size that fits your facial structure. Over sizing results in leaks, frustration, and discomfort.
The ResMed AirFit F30i uses an ultra compact face cushion similar to the one on the AirFit F30. CPAP users now have a choice between a mask with a tube up design (F30i) or a tube down design (F30). The face cushion on the AirFit F30i is well-engineered for comfort and performance.
ResMed reports that 3 out of 4 users prefer the fit of the AirFit F30i to its leading competitor. Those results are most likely driven by the contours on the cushion that capture the angle under the nose well for many people.
If you are looking for a full face mask that lets you sleep how you want to sleep while keeping the center of your face clear and free, the AirFit F30i is a fantastic full face CPAP mask to wear. Let the staff at RespShop help you order the right size for you!

Subject: Pricey but worth it
This mask is loaded with the newest features. I've found them to have improved my experience significantly over older masks, and it's made the mask more convenient and comfortable to use. I like that I can sleep on my side without issue, and that the hose connection is located away from my face. The magnets work well for me and overall I've been able to sleep very well.
Subject: New mask review
The quality of the mask was very good. I appreciate that it should last.
However it is so difficult to get on and off. I got up to use restroom in the night, I dared not even try to put it back on.
Apparently the holes in the nose piece area must line up with the holes in your nose. It’s definitely not an easy trick to accomplish, especially at 2:25 am.
The “horn” as I call it. (The place where the CPAP hose connects) is located in a different place on my head each time I’ve worn it.
The bar, the part of the headpiece that comes across my forehead doesn’t stay, it moves ever so slowly up, I don’t know if it’s going to stay on or not.
The magnetic snaps are seriously too hard to find (Especially at 2am ) so you can snap the mask in place. I seem to have to adjust the straps every time I put it on.
I think the mask concept is good. But practically the mask has series user problems. Suggest designers lesson to the users a little more (ok, a lot more).
I recommend you refund my money and let me get a different mask. This mask cost me alot. I trusted Resmed brand, but I got a lemon.
The F30i is an expensive mask, but for good reason. It was recommended to me by a friend who swore by it, and I agree now. Very comfortable, effective, and I’m a big fan of the under nose cushion over the standard nasal cushion.
Before this mask I never tried the side air tube designs before, so I was a little worried about how sleeping on one side would work in terms of air flow. But after using the F30i for a month now, I want to assure prospective buyers that it’s not an issue at all. Sleeping on one side, I had no problem breathing fully through the non-compressed tube. I’m a huge fan of this feature now since it’s a nearly-seamless side-sleeping experience.
The other part I worried about before buying this mask was how I would like the cushion, since it’s a design that sits under your nose rather than over. But I actually really like this cushion and it relieved some of the pressure on my upper nose, which always bothered me with standard designs. I tried memory foam and dual layer designs on standard cushions, but this cushion instantly beat out all of those. Simply put, it’s just a great mask that’s well worth the high investment cost.
This is a great mask and I love the way it’s designed. It’s comfortable and easy to use. I’ll go over the things I like, and the one small complaint I had.
My favorite feature is that the tube connector sits on the top of your head, and it pivots 360. This means that I can finally run the hose towards the headboard of my bed, keeping it off my body/arm. Not sleeping with that extra weight makes a world of difference. The connector also has a quick release which means it’s really easy to disconnect when I want to get up in the middle of the night.
Also, the dual tubes going down both sides of the face are genius, they let me sleep however I want. I can sleep on my side and the air will just go through the tube on the side of my body facing up. No problems with air flow in any configuration. Adjusting the mask is fine too, the headgear is soft and has sufficient straps. The magnet clasps are a nice touch, easy to take off.
Probably most importantly, the cushion/frame are comfortable. Full disclaimer, I normally use a nasal mask, so I’ve never really liked full face cushions. I purchased this mask for when I have nasal congestions and I actually feel this is very comfortable. The cushion hangs “under” the nose and over your mouth, which feels nice. No leakage issues to report either.
The only complaint I have is that the cushion and frame are two different parts, and each has its own size you’ll have to keep track of. Made it a little difficult for me to get the right fit at first, I had to try a few different combinations.
All in all, it’s a great full face mask with a lot of nice features that make it comfortable.
Overall really like the mask for being small full face mask, and the air feed on top head which for me more comfortable.
Even with humidifier the nasal masks dry my nasal passages.
Like another user's review I also had one of the face frame plastic clips that attaches the head frame to the mask cushion brake. Thus making mask useless.
IMO for the price the clips are poor/ weak plastic design.
Guess ResMed plastic clip design to ensure one does not use the face frame beyond ResMed's three month use period.
I wrote a review for this in June shortly after receiving it. I really liked the mask. However, now one of the clips that attaches the head frame to the mask broke. Making it completely useless. I have only about 2 months of wear on this. It should last longer. I have emailed this company. We will see the outcome.
Thank you for the feed back! It looks like you purchased the frame only. Please contact us so we can get this fixed for you.
Your Respshop Team.
Great mask. I had only used nasal pillows type before. I had to wear a chin strap since I keep opening my mouth during sleep. This mask is awesome. I now have vary low air leakage. It is very comfortable to wear. with the hose on the top I never get tangled up in the hose. I am loving this mask.
This is a nice fitting mask. Doesn't make you feel smothered, although you still need a mask liner to control leaks. Also love the head gear, you can sleep in any position you like.
Overall I love this mask as I am a stomach sleeper and toss and turn a lot, so this allows me to sleep without getting tangled up with the hose. My only negative is that the information I found on the mask of how to size it was really difficult to understand and I ended up ordering one that is on the larger end.
good item. Love to ware every night and sleeps for whole night
i LOVE THE MASK,
THE MASK IS FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO PROVIDE UNIMPEDED AIR FLOW AND FLEXIBILITY.
I really like it. It is the best mask I've ever had. I also ordered and paid for two seals and only received one. Please send the other one or credit my account.
