ResMed AirFit N30i Nasal CPAP Mask

Moving during your sleep is unavoidable, but it doesn’t have to affect your sleep apnea treatment. ResMed’s very first top-of-head CPAP mask, the AirFit N30i Nasal Mask, allows for the utmost freedom of movement by preventing tube drag and leaks.

Finding the right fit is easy. Each starter pack includes three N30i cushion sizes (small, medium, small-wide) and your choice of a small or medium frame for personalized comfort. Plus, the one-size-fits-all headgear with adjustable Velcro tabs ensures a snug fit throughout the night.

With a self-adjusting, open-faced frame and a quieter and softer under-the-nose cushion, the AirFit N30i is optimized for an enhanced sleeping experience.

How do I clean the AirFit N30i Nasal Mask?

Weekly cleaning: headgear, swivel elbow, frame

Daily cleaning: cushion

  1. Disassemble the mask.
  2. Soak all parts in warm water with mild soap for up to ten minutes.
  3. Scrub the vent holes on the elbow and nasal cushion with a soft bristle brush.
  4. Rinse each part thoroughly under running water, squeezing out excess water from the headgear and frame sleeves.
  5. Air-dry all parts away from direct sunlight.
Can I use a different type of cushion with the AirFit N30i Nasal Mask?

Yes, the AirFit N30i is also compatible with the AirFit P30i nasal pillow cushion. This allows you to choose between a nasal mask and a nasal pillow design for maximum comfort.

Is the AirFit N30i a good choice for users with facial hair?

The AirFit N30i generally works well with most types of facial hair. The mask's minimal contact design reduces the impact of facial hair on the seal. However, keeping facial hair trimmed will always help improve comfort and fit for any mask.

If leaks persist, try switching out the N30i nasal cushion with the P30i nasal pillow cushion which minimizes contact with the upper lip.

How often should I replace the AirFit N30i Nasal Mask?

To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.

The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.

My AirFit N30i mask is leaking. What should I do?
  1. Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably under your nose.
  2. Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
  3. Ensure you're wearing your AirFit N30i mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
  4. Adjust your headgear as necessary.
  5. Try a larger or smaller cushion size.
  6. Replace any worn out mask parts.

If your CPAP mask still leaks after following all those troubleshooting steps, a different mask style may be a better option. Feel free to contact RespShop for assistance in choosing a different mask.

the last full face I bought had exhaust holes that rotate with your movement at night. your mask has same movement.the air that comes from these vents into your eyes give you very puffy eye lids in the morning. could all vents be made to face down I am 72 age and having no air blowing in your eyes from any mask would be a bonus . thank you david

I love Airfit N30i mask by Resmed. I have the Dreamwear nasal mask as well, but this mask is made much better. The mask overall is sturdier and the nasal cushion is comfortable and soft. I can clean the cushion without it twisting all over. The headgear can slide on your head like the Dreamwear, but its not flimsy and stays on the head. When you receive this mask, the silicone doesnt have that obnoxious smell that the Respironics silicone does. The elbow can be dtached from the frame for easy cleaning. Resmed seems to do a better job with their masks than other companies. For me this mask makes me more compliant with my therapy.

This mask is a great design from an "impressions" left in the am pov, however,
the "seal" doesn't work as well and mouth breathing was a real issue (dry mouth)
and I just didn't sleep very well and was very disappointed as I loved the idea of the mask.

I have been using the N30I for a few nights and I love it! This mask is very sturdy, does NOT ride up the back of my head so once I put it on it stays in place. The cushion stays sealed all through the night so again, no need to adjust it. At first I thought the cushion was leaking but discovered it was just the Vent on the cushion which is normal. This is now my go to mask and I love it!

My pulmonologist recommended this mask so I tried it. Now 6 weeks later I can say, that like all masks they have pros and cons. First and probably most important, my wife loves it!! She says it is the quietest mask I have ever used and it doesn't leak as much either as I move around during the night. I found that the head gear stays in place well and agree it doesn't move as much as my Swift LT so it leaks much less. It is also light and very easy to don and doff. It is very comfortable.

What I found to be a problem is while it is quiet for my wife I find it to be like sleeping in a wind tunnel. Very noisy for the wearer especially if you are a side sleeper. At 16 cm of pressure blowing through the mask near my ears is a bit annoying. Secondly, I find it hard to clean the head piece well. All you can do is flush soapy water in and out. I use a vinegar soak then rinse it thoroughly. I feel like a salad if I don't rinse it enough.

Overall I give this system a very good rating and look forward to using it for a while.
