Zest Nasal Mask by Fisher & Paykel
When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, the Fisher & Paykel Zest Nasal Mask makes for the ideal CPAP companion.
Featuring FlexiFit technology, the nasal cushion is cleverly designed with two parts: an inner soft foam cushion, which contours to the face, and an easy-to-clean outer silicone layer, which further enhances the seal.
For quieter nights, the exhalation ports are positioned on top of the elbow, directing air away from you to reduce noise and draft.
To give you a secure and comfortable fit every night, the mask comes with breathable, stretchable headgear with a four-point adjustment system and an anti-leak Glider Strap.
Aside from improving the mask seal, the Glider Strap boasts a quick-release design, making the headgear easy to detach from the frame and eliminating the need for constant readjustments.
Compatible with CPAP and BiPAP machines from all manufacturers. ResMed AirMini users will need an AirMini Tubing Connector Adapter and a non-heated hose to connect the mask to their machine.
How do I clean the Zest Nasal Mask?
Weekly cleaning: headgear
Daily cleaning: foam cushion, silicone seal, frame, elbow, swivel
- Disassemble the mask.
- Hand wash all parts except the foam cushion in warm water with mild soap. Avoid soaking the parts for more than 10 minutes.
- Wipe the foam cushion with a damp cloth.
- Rinse each part thoroughly under running water.
- Let the parts air dry away from direct sunlight.
How often should I replace my Zest Nasal Mask?
To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.
The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.
My Zest Nasal Mask is leaking. What should I do?
- Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose.
- Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
- Ensure you're wearing your Zest Nasal Mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
- Adjust your headgear as necessary.
- Try a larger or smaller cushion size.
- Replace any worn out mask parts.
If your CPAP mask still leaks after following all those troubleshooting steps, a different mask style may be a better option. Feel free to contact RespShop for assistance in choosing a different mask.
