Is there any possibility of a water chamber leak?
Water leak may result when the removable metal base is not connected properly. To prevent this, make sure to firmly connect the metal base to the water chamber after it has been removed for cleaning. Leakage can also occur as the silicone seal around the perimeter of the bottom of the water chamber degrades with age.
How do I clean the water chamber?
Use the extraction tool to gently pry the metal base away from the chamber. Hand wash the chamber and base with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and let both parts air dry away from direct sunlight.

I like this cpap and have 2, one here in the US and one in Italy where we often visited family. Why can't you order the base to the water chamber alone? It is such an environmental waste to throw the upper chamber away when the base shows wears. BTW the base does not keep new looking and shows sign of wear rapidly. I am an infectious disease microbiologist and know how to wash things and use them according to instructions.

Optional. A coin or the hidden plastic disc may be used to remove bottom for cleaning. I leave a pure silver (.999) fine coin in water chamber to fight bacterial growth. Sometimes changing the water chamber will let it heat again. Only use distilled water.

Ordered cylinder but can’t get the base unit. This is now is now useless. Didn’t see any notice that base is discontinued.

The tab which held the lid closed on my original water chamber broke, rendering it useless. I ordered this one which is an improved design. It holds more water and the goofy lid is gone. You fill it through the upper hose connector. My machine is MUCH quieter now, which tells me the old lid had been leaking air for a long time.
I am very pleased with this chamber and the shipping was fast.
