Why Do You Need a Heated Tube?

The main reason for a heated hose is to avoid moisture build-up in the CPAP tube. If you use a fan at night or if your bed is near a window, sometimes the moisture from the humidifier can condense and pool in the hose before it gets to your airway.

When this happens, it can wake you up by creating a loud popping sound as the air blows past the water, and in some cases can cause what we refer to as "rainout" where the water starts to splash onto your face or pour into your nose.

The heated hose insulates the air from the cooler temperatures in your room to avoid this. As an added bonus, you can even adjust the temperature in the heated hose for your comfort, making this a great upgrade to the standard hose!

The customer service person was very helpful with taking my order and helping me get what I needed, well almost? When I told her the heated tubing I needed, she told me they had it but the tubing was white and not dark like I had? She double checked and this was the tubing I needed for my DreamStation 2 CPAP machine, well it wasn't! However, it was the correct tubing for my back up CPAP machine and will use for that machine. The rest of my order was correct . This was my first time ordering and was delivered quickly. Lesson learned on my part!

Hard to find 12mm tubing

My DME supplier sent me a 15mm heated tubing on my last resupply order when I had been getting the 12mm micro-flexible tubing previously. They told me the 12mm tubing had been discontinued. I found it here and ordered and received it with no problems.

Get more humidity without the rain out

This tubing is great because you can get more humidity in your air and there is never any rain out. In thr tubing. I can’t say that about all heated tubing either.

Works great and lasts a long time

I've owned a couple of Philips C-paps for about 7 years now, and have always used a heated tube with them. The heated tube definitely makes it much more comfortable to sleep when the ambient air is cold. I'm on my 2nd tube now. The original one I had stopped heating after about 2 years, but the 2nd one has been going strong for about 5 years now. I would highly recommend this product if you have a Philips machine and regularly sleep in a colder location.
