How can I extend the lifespan of my water tub?
With regular maintenance, your tub can last up to two years before it needs to be replaced. Please clean your water tub at least once a week and only use distilled water. Tap water can lead to mineral buildup which creates a white chalky residue that can be difficult to remove. Using tap water in your humidifier water tub will require your to replace your water tub more frequently.

they could make it easier to refill

works well, but it is hard to figure exactly how high to refill and there is often spillage while refilling. the refill line marking should run all around the reservoir, and it should be designed so it doesn't spill so easily when refilling

I bought two H5i Cleanable Water Chamber. Both of them are original products.. Easy to clean everyday..
By the way, if your H5i waits for a long time at close position without using it, you may have difficulty to detach all three parts..
Don't give up. It can be detached at the end with the aid of warm water a little bit...

It's good to be able to open up the parts and clean them now and then. My other one was a sealed water chamber, so it's hard to clean it thoroughly. It works great. And I can throw it in the dishwasher when I don't have time to hand wash it.

I just got this tub and it's awesome. My standard tub was hard to clean since I couldn't get inside it. I rinsed it out ever day, used only distilled water and soaked it in vinegar and water once a week. I did that for 3 months when I noticed algae growing in the bottom and I freaked! I immediately got online and bought a washable tub. It's been great. I just pop it on the top shelf of my dishwasher and it comes out spotless. I wish I had known about this tub when I bought my S9.

What is the difference between the sealed water tub and the cleanable water tub?
