What is the difference between the AirTouch F40 and the AirFit F40?

Both are built on the same F40 frame with the same compact, under-the-nose design. The only difference is the cushion: the AirTouch F40 uses ResMed’s ComfiSoft fabric cushion, and the AirFit F40 uses an AdaptiSeal silicone cushion.

I already have an AirFit F40. Can I try the fabric cushion?

Yes. Both masks share the same frame and headgear, so you can switch to the AirTouch F40 without changing your mask system.

How do I clean my AirTouch / AirFit F40 cushion?

– Clean your cushion, elbow and short tube every day. – Soak the parts in warm water (about 86°F / 30°C) with mild liquid detergent, then gently hand wash and rinse well. – Fabric cushion (AirTouch): hand wash only, without a brush. Gently squeeze out excess water. – Silicone cushion (AirFit): you can use a soft bristle brush. – Let all parts air dry away from direct sunlight.

Disassemble the mask. Please refer to your AirFit F40 User Manual for complete instructions.

Soak the mask parts in warm water with mild soap. Shake the parts in the water and use a soft bristle brush to gently clean the holes in the vent ring.

Rinse the mask parts well under running water and air dry away from direct sunlight.

How do I remove and insert the vent ring into my F40 cushion?

Removal:

With the front of the cushion facing you, pull the vent ring out of one side of the cushion.
Gently pull the vent ring free from the cushion.

Insertion:

With the front of the cushion facing you, align the vent ring against the cushion opening.
Push the vent ring into the opening, pulling the cushion up and over the vent ring groove to ensure the vent ring sits in the cushion.

How often should I replace my AirTouch / AirFit F40 cushion?

RespShop recommends replacing CPAP mask cushions every 2-3 months in order to maintain an effective seal. Silicone cushions soften over time and replacing your cushion regularly helps make sure you continue to receive optimal therapy.

I really wanted to love the F40

I really wanted to love the F40, but it simply could not handle the higher pressures of my therapy. The mask is super soft and outright floppy. Thanks to RespShop though, I was able to discover the Fisher and Paykel Evora Full. And it worked fantastic due to the support in the cushion and frame. So if you have trouble with the F40 sealing, go with the Evora Full.

You well love this full face, CPAP mask, cushion, especially if you snore, it seals so well.

Comfortable but not frustration-free

It's a comfortable mask, once I get it positioned properly. When I go to bed, I have to check the leak level, and then sometimes remove it once or twice and reposition before I get an acceptable reading. It's annoying, but the mask itself is comfortable and works well for me.

This full face mask cushion really works well for me. My doctor recommended it and I never looked back. It's very comfortable and seems to stay secure all night even when sleeping on my side. I also found it doesn't leak like my last mask did and I have uninterrupted sleep.

I need a large headgear with a large mask, but the f40 bundles do not have this as an option, so I was going to buy the mask and headgear separate. The problem is I do not get the small tubing + filter to connect to the CPAP. Is there a way for my needs to be met?
