It is just too noisy and dry

I was pleasantly surprised at how sufficient the humidity was with the AirMist attachment and the machine was not as noisy as I thought it would be. Worth it for travel.

appreciated the strong, professional and courteous medical support staff answering my many questions re the Air Mini Travel CPAP machine. I feel the products and tech support is very high quality. One weak area seems to be the minimal manual guide provided for this product. It is somewhat difficult to comprehend just what data is collected by the machine, with or without the bluetooth software that is meant for the machine. This could be explained in more detail for the new user (e.g. whether the machine will gather/record/save the data if the bluetooth switch is off. Apparently, turning off the machine's power switch will not turn the machine off if it remains plugged into a 110 VAC outlet and the power light does not remain illuminated in this instance. A bit more detail on the operating features in these areas would be helpful.

Appreciate being able to rent the AirMini for an upcoming trip so I could test drive this before leaving and to determine if this could be a possible replacement for my existing home unit (Resvent iBreeze). The iBreeze is heavy and bulky to transport while the AirMini is a fraction of the size and weight so that part is great. I also like the AirMini app which gives you immediate access to the previous night's sleep data (usage hours, mask seal, events per hour, etc.). With the iBreeze, I have to remove a memory card and download the data to an online portal to see the history. I also purchased the AirMini adapter so I could use my existing hose and nasal cushion mask (Philips Nuance Nasal Pillow) which works great. The main issue with the AirMini is that the airflow noise is MUCH louder compared to my iBreeze. The machine itself is not loud, just the airflow at the mask and only during the inhale cycle. Breathing out is quiet but breathing in so loud with the noise right in front of your face that it took me much longer to fall asleep and then it would eventually wake me up and then couldn't get back to sleep. That led me to do some online research and found lots of other people complaining about this issue. Based on the research, I decided to buy a "CPAP muffler" for $20 (Q-Lite Inline CPAP Muffler) despite mixed reviews. Instructions showed to install the muffler to the AirMini and then attach your CPAP hose and then the nasal mask. I tested this configuration with a phone-based decibel app and found the noise to be only slightly less noisy than my mask and hose connected directly to the AirMini. So I attached my hose to the AirMini, then the muffler and then my mask to the muffler and found the noise level was almost as quiet as my iBreeze setup (based on the decibel app readings). I've now had two straight nights of successful sleep so feel comfortable taking this on a 10-day trip. Without the muffler, I wouldn't use the AirMini which is too bad as everything else about it is great - so my overall rating is based on using the muffler with the AirMini.
