Excellent Inhaler Spacers or Inhaler Holding Chamber

I had 2 inhaler manufacturers that I had for several years and were now in need of replacement. I was delighted to receive the (2) OptiChamber Diamond Valved Holding Chambers I ordered. It was nice to get an updated design that was less bulky and more efficient than the ones I had. I have already disassembled them for cleaning which was remarkably easy. The cleaning process provided me the opportunity to exam how they were designed and it was impressive. These spacers are easy to use, clean and reassemble.

If you are finished using it for the time being, it is generally recommended to remove the inhaler, replace the caps, and store both pieces properly to keep them clean and protected.

How do you properly use the valved holding chamber

To properly use the OptiChamber Diamond Valved Holding Chamber, please follow these steps:

1. Remove the caps from both ends of the chamber.
2. Insert the inhaler mouthpiece firmly into the back of the chamber.
3. If using a mask, make sure it fits snugly over the nose and mouth. If using the mouthpiece, place it between your lips and seal tightly.
4. Shake the inhaler well before use.
5. Press the inhaler once to release the medication into the chamber.
6. Breathe in slowly and deeply through the chamber, then hold your breath for about 5 to 10 seconds if possible.
If slow deep breathing is difficult, you can take 3 to 5 normal breaths instead.
7. If a second puff is prescribed, wait about 30 seconds and repeat the steps.

Cleaning tip:
Wash the chamber once a week with warm water and mild dish soap. Do not rinse. Let it air dry completely to reduce static buildup.
