Where is the air intake on resmed 11? I want to use lavender oil diffuser near it

Open air filter hatch on back of machine. Remove old filter and discard. Filters are not washable/reusable. Insert flat, white filters with either side out. If you still are having any issues please contact us at 1-866-936-3754

There is a smooth side and rough side of the filter. (Rough side has a coarser fiber.) Does it matter which side is "out" and which side is "in"?
