If you are only going to get one accessory in your lifetime, this should be it! This industrial-grade rechargeable lithium-ion cell battery has changed my life. If you are like me, you probably love sleeping and breathing at the same time!

There is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night choking on your own tongue because your power has gone out! This battery can be plugged in in line with your CPAP so that if the power ever goes out, it just kicks in automatically without you missing a breath.

It can also be used as an independent power source for your CPAP and depending on your pressure settings can last for about 2 nights if you turn off your humidifier.

You can charge your Medistrom battery using your CPAP’s regular cable, or you can get a DC adapter to charge it using a cigarette lighter outlet in your car. You can even get a solar panel for it that folds up light and is small for backpacking.

Outside of the fact that this battery keeps me breathing consistently by keeping my CPAP functional regardless of the power situation at my home, the best feature of this battery is the USB outlet on the front of it. That means that you can use this battery not only to keep your CPAP running, but you can also keep your phone or any other USB device up and running! This makes it a perfect multi-functional accessory for any circumstance.

Unlike the original Pilot series batteries, these batteries are only slightly larger than my phone. Weighing in at only 1.3 lbs and measuring 6.7" x 3.5" x 0.8”, it fits easily in a purse or back pocket for just about any event.

If I had one criticism of this battery it is that the built-in flashlight is not very bright, but because I can keep my phone charged up, I can use the flashlight on it!

In conclusion, this battery is awesome. You should get one or even two! That way you can have one for your CPAP and one for when you are running about with a low phone battery.

The Pilot 24-Lite is FAA and TSA compliant and can be packed in your carry-on luggage.
On average pressures, the battery can provide up to 2 nights of runtime with the humidifier disabled and a non heated hose.

Higher pressures, excessive mask leak and the use of a humidifier and heated tube will significantly decrease the runtime.
Charge times via the ResMed AirSense 10, S9 or the Medistrom Pilot-24 AC adapter is approximately 2-3 hours. Charge time via the ResMed AirMini AC adapter is approximately 7-9 hours.
AC power: Medistrom Pilot-24 AC adapter (sold separately) or your machine’s AC adapter

1–10 of 26 Questions
Q. I have an existing prescription for my main C-Pap. Can I use that for the mini as well?
A. This battery will work for the AirMini as well!
Q. Is this FSA eligible?
A. Hi there, you would have to double check with your insurance company as some companies will accept a battery, but most will not as it is an accessory. Sometimes if you live in an area that is prone to power outages, that may help your case.
Q. How do I make this work for my AirSense 11?
A. Going from the wall to the machine, you will first have your power supply that came with the AirSense 11 machine, then you will connect one of the two cables from the AirSense 11 cable kit (available here: https://www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/battery-power/medistrom-pilot-lite-cpap-battery-cable-kit-for-resmed-airsense-11-p-1808.html ) to that cable and connect the other end to the medistrom pilot 24 lite battery. The other cable from the kit will go in to the DC out port of the battery and connect to the AirSense 11. In this way, you can leave the battery plugged in in-line with the machine so that you have a backup in case of a power outage and your battery is always ready to go. If you are taking it camping or some place without an input power source, you would simply use just the cable between the battery and the machine to run the machine.
Q. What is the average run time for a ResMed s9.
A. Hello,
The average run time for this battery depends on your CPAP pressure and whether you are using a humidifier and/or heated hose. On a pressure of 10 cm H2O, without humidifier and heated hose, average run time is 12 hours. If your pressure is lower then the run time will be longer and if your pressure is higher then the run time will be shorter. It is recommended to turn your humidifier off when running your CPAP off of a battery for longer run time.
Q. So, if the battery is connected to the CPAP machine at all times so that there is no interruption of therapy, that means that, when power does go out, one must wake up, turn off the machine, turn off the humidifier, replace the heated tube with a non-heated tube - right?
Do you have an approximate percentage of how much less battery life is available when a humidifier and heated tube are used?
A. That is correct, the battery life is very short with the heated tube and humidifier running as it absorbs the most energy. Depending on your pressures, if the humidifier and heated tube was running you may get 24 hour max. Less if you run a higher pressure.
Q. does it have a charging cable for use in automobile lighter ?? where can i buy that cable ?
how long does it take to recharge ?? thanks
A. Medistrom does have a DC cable cord. The recharge time is 2 - 3 hours. https://www.respshop.com/cpap-supplies/battery-power/medistrom-car-charger-for-pilot-lite-p-1223.html
Q. Hi,
I need a battery power for my Resmed Airmini and have looked at the: Medistrom Backup Power Supply/CPAP Battery Pilot-24-Lite(For ResMed) Model: P24MPLBP1.
Does the Medistrom power adapter shown in picture no 2 included in the product Medistrom Backup Power Supply/CPAP Battery Pilot-24-Lite?
Is there free shipping to Sweden and how Long delgiver time aprox. To Sweden?
Best Regards
Kjell Larsson
A. Sorry but batteries can only be shipped within the US.
Q. Is this compatible with a ResMed AirSense 10 machine? What cables/connectors are not included that I need to but separately?
A. Yes, it is. Everything you need to use it with your Airsense 10 comes with it.
Q. Confused by the answers. When asked about average run time...one answer says
"On a pressure of 10 cm H2O, without humidifier and heated hose, average run time is 12 hours."
and just a few questions later the answer says
"Depending on your pressures, if the humidifier and heated tube was running you may get 24 hour max. Less if you run a higher pressure."
So which is it?? It DOES make a difference!
A. With my experience the battery is best ran with no heated tube or humidifier and depending on your pressure it will depend on the hour usage. I have seen where it can last 12-15 hours but I am sorry I have not seen the 24 hours but again it may depend on if they have a really low pressure. Best to always try it before leaving so you have an idea
Q. Is this battery cleared for FAA travel on air planes ?
A. Yes it is FAA approved. We always advise contacting Airlines prior to your flight to check on rules and regulations.

Subject: Good for my needs.
It's not the cheapest option out there, but for the reliability and peace of mind it offers, it is a solid investment. It's kept my therapy going strong no matter where I've ended up.

Subject: Great Battery
This is a great battery. I took it with my travel CPAP to camp and was able to get 2 nights out of a single charge. Makes so I can now use my travel CPAP most any where for at least a couple of nights. I did get the car charger with it so I charged it up for a 3rd night.

Awesome, this battery is a life changer. SO scared to go anywhere off the grid because I would snore so loudly I'd spend weeks explaining myself. Now I can go where I would never go. Boys trips, school camps, friend getaways. It's great.

I intend to use the Medistrom CPAP Battery Pilot-24-Lite (for Resmed) on my voyages (airplane or sites where there is no electric power available). I did test it at home in combination with an Air Mini from Resmed and my first impression is very good. The battery provided me two nights of sleep without extra charging (6h30 and 7h45). As I expected it would last only one night it's a very good information for me as I intend to fly in the near future from Luxembourg to Australia. I hope the Battery's lifecycle will also be a positive surprise.
Greetings

The initial impression is that it is quite big and heavy. It took a little time to find its technical specifications as I plan to take it to a great deal of traveling. A clear marking of international spec might help travellers to clear customs. The cable connector are a little complicated offering many choices. Once starting to use, it is versatile battery capable of performing multiple tasks.
