Your ResMed AirSense 11 is a powerful device, but it only works best when it’s tailored to you. That’s why we’ve put together this 5-step tutorial to help you personalize your CPAP for maximum effectiveness.
From adjusting pressure to fine-tuning ramp, comfort, humidity, and accessory settings, this guide walks you through everything you need to know. By the end, you’ll feel confident making adjustments that improve both comfort and treatment results.

Step 1: Adjusting Pressure Settings
Pressure settings are the foundation of your CPAP therapy, so be cautious before making changes. Always consult your doctor or a qualified medical professional before adjusting this setting. You can contact our specialized therapists here.
-
From the Home screen, press and hold My Options + My Sleep View for ~3 seconds.
-
The screen will change to Clinical Home (white background).
-
Tap Settings.
-
If you have the AutoSet model, you can:
-
Switch between Mode options (AutoSet / AutoSet for Her).
-
Adjust the Pressure Range by setting the Minimum and Maximum Pressure.
-
-
If you have the CPAP model (or AutoSet in CPAP mode):
-
Select a single continuous pressure.
-
-
Fine-tune by using the .0 button to adjust pressure to the 0.1 level.

Step 2: Adjusting Ramp & Comfort Settings
Ramp and comfort settings help make therapy feel easier and more natural. These adjustments are mostly about personal preference, so take time to experiment and find what feels best.
-
Access the Clinical Menu by holding My Options + My Sleep View for ~3 seconds from the Home screen.
-
Tap Settings → Comfort.
-
Ramp Time: Set in 5-minute increments, turn off, or choose Auto.
-
Start Pressure: Can only be set at or below your prescribed minimum pressure.
-
EPR Level (Expiratory Pressure Relief): Adjust how much pressure drops when you exhale.
-
EPR Mode: Toggle On/Off. When enabled, it reduces pressure during exhalation for easier breathing.
💡 Tip: Adjust comfort settings gradually. As your body adapts to therapy, you can fine-tune EPR levels for maximum comfort.
Step 3: Climate Control & Tube Temperature
If you purchased the ClimateLineAir 11 heated tubing (an optional ~$40 upgrade), you can control Climate and Tube Temperature settings for a more comfortable therapy experience.
-
Access Settings → Comfort → Climate Control in the Clinical Menu.
-
Climate Control Mode:
-
Auto: Device adjusts Tube Temperature and Humidity based on the environment.
-
Manual: Set Tube Temperature (60–86°F) and Humidity levels individually.
-
Humidity Level: Controls how much moisture the humidifier adds.
-
If dry nose/mouth → increase humidity.
-
If condensation in the mask → decrease humidity.
-
Auto Humidity: Maintains ~85% relative humidity for comfort. Only available with ClimateLineAir 11 tubing.
💡 Tip: Experiment gradually with manual settings to find the level that feels best for you.
Step 4: Mask, Tube & Accessories Settings
The Accessories settings let you tell your AirSense 11 what mask and tubing you’re using, ensuring accurate therapy delivery. Accessing the Clinical Menu provides extra options here.
-
Open the Clinical Menu: hold My Options + My Sleep View from the Home screen for ~3 seconds.
-
Go to Settings → Accessories.
-
Mask Setting: Choose the type of mask you’re using (nasal, full-face, or nasal pillows). See our AirSense 11 mask options.
-
Tube Type: Select SlimLine (default) or Standard tubing.
-
Most units come with SlimLine non-heated tubing.
-
If using another tube and unsure which type it is, contact our RespShop specialists for guidance.
-
B/V Filter: Specify if using a Bacterial/Viral filter.
💡 Tip: The standard disposable filters that ship with the AirSense 11 are air filters that captures dust and other large airborne particles. They are not bacterial/viral filters.
Step 5: Additional Important Settings
These settings give you extra control over your AirSense 11 and improve convenience, comfort, and usability during therapy. Some are accessible directly from the Patient Menu, while others require the Clinical Menu.
-
Enable Advanced Patient View:
-
Open Clinical Menu (hold My Options + My Sleep View for ~3 seconds).
-
Go to Settings → Options → Patient View → Advanced.
-
This unlocks more settings in the Patient Menu without opening the Clinical Menu every time.
-
Warmup Feature: Preheats the humidifier before therapy, ideal for cold nights or when you want to avoid inhaling cold air.
-
Mask Fit Test: Runs a quick test to check for leaks and ensure an effective seal. Learn CPAP mask leak tips in our dedicated video here.
-
SmartStart / SmartStop:
-
SmartStart: The Device starts automatically when you put on your mask.
-
SmartStop: The Device stops automatically when you remove your mask.
-
Airplane Mode: Disables wireless features for travel or flights.
💡 Tip: These additional settings help improve therapy comfort, convenience, and overall effectiveness without changing prescribed pressures.
