Why is it important to track or monitor your blood oxygen levels? As you breathe in air, your lungs fill up and absorb oxygen, allowing oxygen to enter your bloodstream. Oxygen is carried by your red blood cells to your tissues and vital organs within your body. Anytime you experience low oxygen levels, it ultimately is hurting your tissues and vital organs.
