Bongo Rx Starter Kit and Annual Replenishment Pack by AirAvant Medical
The Bongo Rx is a unique sleep apnea therapy device that does not require any power, making it ideal for travel. This FDA-cleared nasal seal treats mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) without the need for a CPAP machine or a CPAP mask that can feel restrictive and confining. Unlike other nasal patches for sleep apnea, the Bongo RX can be used headgear-free so you can sleep with more freedom. To top it all off, it is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket so you can use it anytime and anywhere!
How Does the Bongo RX Work?
The Bongo RX is so easy to use and does not require power. This simple device uses soft nasal seals that fit just inside the nostril which allow air in and during exhalation, the valves close while venting holes generate EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure) slowing the airflow down when exhaling which in turn will prop open your airway until you inhale again.
How to Use the Bongo RX
The starter kit for the Bongo RX comes with headgear, travel case, and four soft nasal seals in sizes S, M, L and XL. All you need to do is place the nasal seal inside your nostrils, making sure you have a good seal. You can either use them just like that or add the headgear for more stability.
Be sure to wash them in warm soapy water after each use.

Respshop Product Review
We are happy to introduce the Bongo by AirAvant to our family! If you have minor sleep apnea and are not quite ready for a CPAP and find CPAP Masks daunting, this may be a good solution for you. I was excited to try this when it came in because it looked like a very low-profile option and great for travel. I used the headgear that came with the Bongo which kept the nasal ports in place comfortably while I slept. The ports helped open my nasal passages allowing for air to flow in easily and then slowly let the exhalation out while keeping my airway open until my next inhalation. The ports stayed in well and were comfortable and what I like a lot is the ease of cleaning and the portability. If you have used Provent, a similar product, you may want to give these a go as well or if you have minor obstructive sleep apnea you may find these helpful. The Bongo may also make a great backup option!

Subject: Small is too large?
I only used it once, last night and I think so far so good? It's absolutely more comfortable to use than a CPAP. My only issue is my nostrils hurt this morning, and during the night. I know it's important that there's a good seal, but I think these devices are made for men sizes! Wish I could get an extra small.
Subject: Bongo Rx
My partner says I’ve stopped by snoring and my o2 ring (lookee) says I’m holding above 97 so I have to say it’s working. I just can’t go back on that machine. I would do this if it worked only half as well.
Subject: I'm surprised at how well Bongo Rx works
I have mild apnea. I used Provent with mostly good results until it was cancelled. I tried Bongo Rx and was very pleasantly surprised at how well it's working for me. First, it works extremely well. I measure both my snoring and my oxygen levels when I sleep. Using bongo, my snoring has gone from extremely loud to minimal. Using the snorelab app, without it I'm typically in the 20-25 range and with it I'm in the single digit range, usually below 5. Just listening to the recorded sounds there is a huge difference. My blood oxygen levels have also improved. They were usually not bad but with the bongo I've gone from several drops per hour to less than 0.5 drops per hour.
It's also much easier to use and more reliable. I have a beard, so with provent I had to shave the top of my mustache and if it was very hot any sweat would make the provent adhesive fail. The bongo just inserts easily with none of these problems.
Finally, Bongo is significantly cheaper than provent. I'm extremely happy with it.
I have been a user of Provent for several years for moderate sleep apnoea with good success most nights . And I was disappointed when it was discontinued and replaced with the Bongo. However I do now prefer the Bongo.
I have purchased the beginners pack Bongo with good success so far. It is much more comfortable to wear and so far so good. Provent was expensive and if not adhered properly To your skin a new one needed to be applied which was frustrating and $$$ down the drain . If your skin was not cleansed properly before applying it wouldn’t seal .
My only compliant with the Bingo is that moisture does build up during the night and you can hear a little wheeze. I find breathing hard through the Bongo several times dislodges the moisture.
I’m not wanting to use the CPAP so I Will continue to use the bongo, It’s certainly reduced my snoring and it’s kept my husband in my bed !!
Thanks for a great invention !!
This is an update on my previous review.
I have given the Bongo the flick. Worked great with the trial, ordered the annual pack , was delivered promptly, but unfortunately after 2 months useage my snoring has returned. I’ve returned to using the Provent Nasal patch’s (I still have two spare boxes)
And note the breathing resistance is stronger . Also the moisture from the bongo would wake me often during the night with nasal secretions running over my lips. This was despite using the next size with a tight fit.
Very disappointing
Thank you for your feed back, we appreciate it.
Unfortunately we no longer carry Provent but we do have a nice selection of mini and full size cpap devices.

Subject: Bongo Starter Kit Review
I received the Bongo starter kit from Respshop within the time frame specified. The product was in good condition when I received it. The customer service I received was good and the staff was responsive to my needs.
I have found the Bongos to be far more user friendly than the traditional CPAP machine. I was able to adjust to the Bongos in a short period of time and have found it to be helpful in enabling me to sleep better. My husband tells me that he no longer hears me snoring at night. I wake up in the morning feeling better rested and more refreshed than I did previously.
I will have no hesitation in the future in purchasing this product and will purchase it from Respshop.
Subject: didn't do much
I was very hopeful this device would help me stop snoring and finally get a restful night, but it didn't work for me. I don't know if the exhale vents are too big, it didn't take much getting used to to wear, which i recall being and issue with provent. Or may be the mechanics of my snoring aren't the best for this type of treatment, but it literally changed nothing at all (i used audio app to track). The comfort level was very good though, if EPAP is what you need these won't disappoint.
My wife and I have been using the Bongo device for the past 6 months and it has stopped both of us from snoring. Peace has returned during sleep.
The issue with the recalled CPAP model is that the foam was breaking down. This device does not have that issue but it is also a completely different form of therapy. Be sure to ask your doctor if it's appropriate and have them write a prescription.
How long is each Bongo expected to last?
If the RespShop is a preferred provider for the CPAP, is it possible for insurance to cover the cost of the Bongo?
Each Bongo lasts 3 months - so an annual pack contains 4 pairs.
Your insurance may cover the cost, but we do not offer direct billing - you'd have to bill them the invoice yourself.
