The AirFit and AirTouch CPAP mask designs have three differences:

  • Cushion material
  • Durability
  • Cost

The main difference between the two designs of masks is the cushion material. The cushion on the AirFit masks is made of silicone. The cushion on the AirTouch masks is made of memory foam.

The memory foam is super-soft and therefore contours to the shape of your face better.

For example, here are the AirFit N20 and the ResMed AirTouch N20 CPAP masks.

You’ll notice the difference in the cushions: one is silicone, and the other – is memory foam.

Secondly, the silicone cushion on the AirFit designs is more durable and can be replaced every 90 days or so. The memory foam cushion on the AirTouch masks is less durable and should be replaced monthly. This also contributes to the cost of maintenance of each style of CPAP mask.

Finally, the silicone cushion costs less while the memory foam cushion costs a little more.
