Why Do You Need a Heated Tube?

The main reason for a heated hose is to avoid moisture build-up in the CPAP tube. If you use a fan at night or if your bed is near a window, sometimes the moisture from the humidifier can condense and pool in the hose before it gets to your airway.

When this happens, it can wake you up by creating a loud popping sound as the air blows past the water, and in some cases can cause what we refer to as "rainout" where the water starts to splash onto your face or pour into your nose.

The heated hose insulates the air from the cooler temperatures in your room to avoid this. As an added bonus, you can even adjust the temperature in the heated hose for your comfort, making this a great upgrade to the standard hose!

1–7 of 7 Questions
Q. My tubing gets hot at nite
A. Yes you have a heated tube and it will get warm. I would suggest turning down the humidifier and tubing setting. Thank you
Q. Is there a heated tube that is 22mm?
A. Hello, I am sorry this is the only heated tube.
Q. My sleep apnea therapist has prescribed an "O2 Bleed Adapter" to be attached between the hose (Respironics Catalog (REF) # 1105180 (about 17" L) coming from Nuance Pro Gel Pillows Mask, W/ HGR, DOM, Respironics Catalog (REF) # 1105167 inserted between the Hose REF # 1105180 and the Philips Heated Tube for DreamStation/System One CPAPs - 15mm, Respironics Catalog (REF) # HT15.
I am replacing my current Nuance Pro Gel Pillows Mask, W/ HGR, DOM, Respironics Catalog (RER) # 1105167 with DreamWear Silicone Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask by Philips - 2021 version, But it appears there is no extra 17" Hose that I can use between the Heated Hose and the point where the headgear connects. Please let me know soonest what you find. Thank you!
A. The Oxygen adapter should connect between the mask and the tubing when using a heated hose. If you are still having issues please contact our office and we will be happy to help.
Q. Will using this heated tube prevent my mask from filling up with moisture during the night because it's so cold in my room?
A. Yes the tube will help with that issue. Thank you
Q. i have a heated tube,but no humidifier,so can i use a regular tube
A. Yes, if you don't use a humidifier, you can just use a regular standard CPAP tube. No need for heated tubing.
Q. Is this tubing compatible with the Philips Dreamstation 2 device? Thanks
A. Yes it is compatible with the Dreamstation 2!
Q. can i use these in dreamstation bipap pro..
A. Hi there, yes this heated tube is compatible with the Dreamstation BIPAP Pro.

Subject: Philips Tube For DreamStation/System One CPAPs - Heated, 15mm Diameter
This tube is maybe the best in term of middle airflow and gets better pressure than the current 12mm that it is included in the Dreamstation 2 now that Philips is in the decline

Subject: Best heated hose for Phillips dreamstation
Been using these for nearly 5 years, I've tried knock offs and non-heated hoses and they don't compare to the quality and durability of this one.

Subject: Philips Heated Tube
I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea years ago and I have done very well being compliant with daily usage of CPAP therapy. Suddenly, I could no longer tolerate my therapy. I would wake in the night with my mouth so dry it was awful! I decided to turn up my humidity level. Each night I would turn it up another level. I would sleep soundly for a couple of hours and then I would wake to a loud noise and water spitting at me! It was alarming! I no longer had dryness but the noise and water was equally intolerable! Once I was lying down, wearing my mask, I would start feeling optimistic about being able to wear the mask all night. This would be the night, I would tell myself, but it happened every night. I eventually quit using it. Feeling guilty about my non compliance I did some research and found RespShop.com What an impressive website! I called through and the kind, informative customer service explained I needed a heated tube versus the standard tube I was using. This tube allows my humidification to be set as I need it and no more waking to noise or water in my face! Get a heated tube!

When I got my machine not one told me that I could get a heated tube. I am very grateful for the Respshop representative that told me about the heated tube when I was ordering. This heated tube works just like it says it does, and is easy to install.

I really like the fact that it is very thin. If it gets stuck under my body while sleeping I won't even feel it.

Subject: Head Gear
The headgear that I received from the Respshop has been a good accessory to my new cpap. I have not liked nasal headgear until now. The device is comfortable and not at all cumbersome. I think anyone who tries it will be pleased

Subject: Nice Tubing, But too short.
I had 8 foot tubing with my previous CPAP. Since using this short 6 foot tubing I have pulled my CPAP machine off my bedside stand 3 times in past year. That is more than I had previously experienced with the longer tubing in 8 years.
I do wish they had this tubing in a longer length.

Give us a call because we do have longer tubing available
