Lighter and smaller than other traditional full face cushions, the Amara silicone cushion delivers exceptional seal without sacrificing comfort. For a gentler seal, it’s interchangeable with the Amara gel cushion, which conforms comfortably to your facial contours.

The forehead support can be adjusted in small increments, while the headgear comes with lower and upper Velcro straps.

Once you’ve gotten the perfect fit, there’s no need for readjustments. Simply slide the headgear over your head and clip it onto the frame to put the mask back on.

What is the difference between the Philips Respironics Amara and Amara Gel full face masks?

The difference between the Amara and the Amara Gel masks lies in the material of the cushion. The Amara Full Face Mask features a silicone cushion while the Amara Gel Full Face Mask comes with a gel cushion.

Can I use a different type of cushion with the Amara Full Face Mask?

Yes, the Amara Full Face Mask is also compatible with the Amara Gel full face cushion.

How do I clean my Amara Full Face Mask?

Weekly cleaning: headgear
Daily cleaning: cushion, frame, elbow with swivel

Disassemble the mask.
Soak the mask parts in warm water with mild soap. Avoid soaking for more than 10 minutes.
Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water, squeezing out excess water from the headgear.
Lay parts out to air dry away from direct sunlight.

How often should I replace my Amara Full Face Mask?

To maintain the best fit and seal for your CPAP therapy, we recommend replacing the entire mask, including the headgear and frame, every 6 months.

The silicone cushion, however, may need to be replaced more frequently, typically every 2 to 3 months. Silicone naturally softens over time, which can affect its ability to create a good seal.

My Philips Amara CPAP Mask is leaking. What should I do?

Gently pull the mask away from your face and then release it, allowing the cushion seal to inflate and settle comfortably around your nose and mouth.
Make sure to clean both your mask cushion and your face, as facial oils can interfere with the seal.
Ensure you're wearing your Amara mask according to the fitting instructions in the user guide or the video below. The way you put on the mask significantly impacts the seal.
Adjust your headgear as necessary.
Try a larger or smaller cushion or headgear size.
Replace any worn out mask parts.

Q. Return policy if mask is uncomfortable

A. Hello,
We have a 30 day mask assurance policy for this! Please let us know within 30 days of your order date and we will apply store credit equal to the amount you paid for the mask to your account. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FACE MASK. THERE ARE ONLY 2 THINGS TO REMEMBER AND ARE

TO BE SURE GET HEADGEAR WITH WIDE STRIPS, CREATES A MUCH BETTER HOLD THAN THS SMALL ONES,
EASY TO ADD. BETTER HOLD, LARGER VELCROL CREATES FANTASTIC HOLD. IF YOUR MASK STRAPS
COME LOOSE DURING THE NIGHT, THAT WILL STOP THAT PROBLEM.
NEXT THING IS TO GET THE GE CUSHION, IT WILL CONFORM TO YOUR FACE SO YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY
AIR LEAKS. I HAVE JOINED THE RES-MED MY AIR CHECK. EACH DAY IT TELLS THE RESULTS OF YOU NIGHT
RESULTS. TIME MACHINE USED- QUALITY OF MASK SEAL-EVENTS PER HOUR, AND TIMES YOU TOOK MASK.
IT LOOKS AT THIS AND GRADES YOUR THERAPY PRGRESS

The Amara Full Face mask is an excellent choice for me since Respironics also includes Reduced Size for the masks, which fits better unless you have wider face area then you can use the standard sizes, ie, Large, Medium, Small, or Large/Rs, Medium/Rs, Small/Rs, and Petite/Rs. You know how it is when looking for your right size, sometimes size Small is still too big and now Small/Rs fits me perfectly! I chose the Gel mask because it is softer and it feels more comfortable to me. The entire mask is very light compare to other masks of similar shape.

I tried every other face mask out there, but this is the only one that I could use because I'm a side sleeper. It also has a great seal, but I found sizing was challenging and had to go with the small mask, so I have to be careful about how tight I make the mask.

Subject: Philips Amara full face CPAP mask
It has shown a mask leak every night since it was put into use. Still wake up with dry throat. Will be going back to nasal mask.
