Respironics APAP for Exceptional Sleep Apnea Treatment
Part of the Respironics PR System One Series, the 560s is a high performance APAP machine that offers a multitude of performance options to provide the best sleep apnea therapy. Humidification options provide versatility and bonus comfort, especially in areas where the climate is extreme. Auto CPAPs constantly change pressure based off of the individuals needs compared to a fixed pressure CPAP machine. Resistance Control, Flex Technology, and the Advanced Detection System give the user multiple performance options that allow for ease of use and better performance.
System One Resistance Control
Makes automatic pressure adjustments to provide the optimum pressure setting based off your needs during CPAP therapy regardless of the type of mask you use. The System One will automatically adjust to any mask type to provide the maximum amount of relief without hurting the performance of your CPAP machine.
With three levels of relief during your exhale, the Flex Family Technology reduces pressure during exhalation. Flex Technology allows for automatic pressure adjustments based off of every breath, providing the necessary amount of air flow based off of your current need however they may not be for users who are used to a fix pressured CPAP machines. Consulting with your physician is recommended.
CPAP Therapy Data
The Respironics 560 comes with a multilingual LCD display that will allow for easy viewing of your data and settings, providing versatility to users of different nationalities. Advanced Event Detection will track, record, and store all of the essential data. Leaks, snores, limitation of flow, and apneas are all conveniently tracked and stored so that you or your healthcare provider and physicians can monitor the effectiveness of your CPAP therapy treatment and make the necessary adjustments to ensure you are receiving the best possible treatment for your sleep apnea.
Humidity and Tubing Options Available Separately
There is heated tubing and also a System One Humidifier option available for this machine that can be purchased separately to boost the performance and improve the comfort you are receiving from your Respironics System One APAP machine. Humidifiers and heated tubing can eliminate rainout in the tube and mask which can help prevent a dry mouth and nasal area after CPAP use. The System One REMStar 60 Series Humidifier and Heated Tubing will help with the ambient temperatures in the environment in which your CPAP machine is stored. Heated tubing will allow for a consistent temperature from the humidifier to your CPAP mask and will not be affected by the surrounding temperatures allowing for your desired comfort level to be consistently provided throughout the night during CPAP use.
Respironics System One 60 Series Machines have been updated to a more modern design with a larger control dial which is easier to grasp allowing for quicker changes of your settings.
- System One Resistance Control - Provides optimum pressure regardless of your mask type
- Flex Technology - 3 levels of pressure relief, adapts to pressure on every breath
- CPAP Therapy Data - Advanced Event Detect tracks, records, and stores important therapy data (i.e. leaks, snores, flow limitations and apneas)
- Sleek Design - New modern design features ergonomic control dial enabling quick setting changes
- Ramp Feature - Starts pressure at lower levels and gently increases to prescribed pressure levels over a 45min
- Automatic Altitude Adjustment - Automatically adapts pressure to varying altitude levels
It is important to note that the Heated Humidifier, which is sold separately, is only compatible with this Respironics 60 series machine and is not compatible with the older models such as the M Series. The Heated Tubing is also designed to work exclusively with the humidifier for this machine and will not work with older humidifiers built by Respironics. If you decide that you want humidification with your 60 Series APAP, you should also update your tubing if you were a former Respironics user upgrading from your M Series machine or another 60 series machine where the tubing and humidifier may not be compatible.
Does the Respironics 560 come with a humidifier?
While there are humidification options
available, they must be purchased separately. Humidifiers are a great addition to improve comfort and performance, especially in extreme climates such as cold or dry rooms where you receive your CPAP therapy.
What is the difference between an APAP and a CPAP?
The A stands for Auto, while normal CPAP machines are set to a fixed pressure usually assigned by your doctor or healthcare provider. If you are a first time CPAP user who does not know what pressure settings they need, an Auto machine might be perfect for you as the pressure settings automatically adjust to what you need during your therapy. Fixed pressure machines will stay at one set pressure during the night providing a consistent level, which might be more comfortable for long time users who know what settings will work best during their CPAP therapy. In the end, both types of machines will provide excellent sleep apnea therapy, and you should consult your physician to decide which machine is best for you if you are unaware during purchase.
How often do I need to keep up with the maintenance on my CPAP machine?
We recommend that you clean your machine daily, especially the tubing and mask. There are cleaning wipes and tube brush cleaners available that will allow you to go beyond the normal washing, while also lengthening the life of your CPAP accessories. Humidifiers tubs should be emptied daily, washed, and refilled with distilled water to prevent calcium build ups. Tubes should be thoroughly rinsed, brushed with a tubing brush cleaner, and hung up to air dry, and masks should be wiped down or cleaned with a mild detergent in warm water.
