I am currently using a Respironics 50 series machine and I want to purchase a heated humidifier. Will this humidifier work?
Unfortunately no, this humidifier is only available for the Respironics 60 series machines.
Are there benefits to purchasing the humidifier that allows for heated tubing?
While it is all about comfort and personal preference, heated tubing can reduce the excess moisture in the tube and mask also known as rainout.

I have been using this brand of CPAP machine and Humidifier for the past several years. I started having some issues with condensation in the hose with my old humidifier as it was not a heated hose. I've found that a setting of 3 works best for me, so I decided to get this newer model of humidifier with the heated hose. It works great! No condensation and it fits perfectly on my older model System One unit. Since condensation is not an issue anymore its good to know that mildew and other nasty things are not growing in my hose during the day.
Great Humidifier, writing the review specifically to recommend the heated tube than the normal tube, really a big difference.
When I ordered the CPAP machine, one of your CSR told me to get the humidifier, but I thought I could sleep through without it. Well, I am wrong, so I came back to get this humidifier. It is a good thing to have it. No, it's a must have, can't-live-without-it kind of thing!
The humidifier has three level settings of humidification 70%, 80% and 90%, with operating temperature from 40º to 90º F. It can be used with either the plastic tube that came with my DS560S machine, or with heated tubing, which I purchased along with this humidifier. The temperature for the heated tubing is between 60º to 85º F. One feature stands out for this humidifier is that you can switch it to classic mode to treat extreme dryness. I was told that I can pre-heat the humidifier before I am ready to use it. Just press down the dial button on the cpap and a blue light turns on.
Yes, you definitely need one of these humidifiers to go with your cpap machine!
Can't imagine the Cpap pachine without the humidifier. This works great, never had any problems with it.
