The Respironics BiPAP AutoSV Machine features the Digital Auto-Trak Sensitivity, an active and "always on", feature from Respironics. This innovative technology works with Respironics' Flex Technology for tracking breathing patterns and automatically adjusting to any events detected. The Digital Auto-Trak determines varying triggers and cycle thresholds via several sensors in the device. Anytime that a any sensor picks up any changes, the device automatically responds to ensure optimum therapy at all times.

The Respironics BiPAP AutoSV device also features exceptional pressure relief at three critical points in the respiratory cycle of the patient. Pressure is then decreased by half a centimeter adjustments during transition phases in exhalation to inhalation and vice versa. It also features the proprietary Bi-Flex technology that can be set up to 1.5 cm of water pressure for optimum comfort for the patient. This feature is standard in the PR BiPAP series and can be activate when the device is in Auto Bi-Level or Spontaneous Mode.
The device also provides ultimate performance versatility with its capability to support EPAP, IPAPmin, and IPAPmax modes. It can also deliver CPAP, CPAP with AutoSV, BiPAP and BiPAP with AutoSV. Uncomplicated OSA symptoms and mixed apneas are also effectively treated via an auto-titrating algorithm. The Breathe Rate and Rise Time can also be set via the device's (S/T) mode. The breath rate allows the machine to determine breaths per minute in order to figure out when to switch from exhalation to inhalation. These features are usually not found in conventional BiPAP ST.

The auto-titrating algorithm featured in the device allows it to function as an Auto CPAP or Auto BiLevel device. The auto titration tracks sleep disordered breathing, including obstructed sleep apnea and snoring. The system also recognizes unresponsive patients to pressure increases during apneas or hypopneas. The auto EPAP feature automatically adjusts to pressures during exhalation to ensure that there is no airway collapse during OSA and that the device guarantees that the patient is never under treated.
Efficient Advanced Back-Up Rate for Sustained Therapy
Central sleep apnea such as complex sleep apnea frequently occur as a side effect of CPAP therapy. For therapy of such individuals, the device should not over or under ventilate and should promote natural breathing at all times. The Respironics BiPAP AutoSV solves this problem by using the advanced back up rate that calculates the back up rate as based on the patients natural breathing rate, to support natural breathing.
Automatic Servo Ventilation (AutoSV) Algorithm
With the Automatic Servo Ventilation (AutoSV) Algorithm, the device ensures that every breath is adequately hydrated. Breathing patterns are constantly monitored by the SV algorithm and basing on a target peak flow, these breathing patterns are easily regulated and stabilized, when irregularities are detected. Flow signals are easily tracked and a target flow is set within each breathing cycle. The device then stabilizes pressure support when the flow target is attained.

With the Encore SmartCard, the device on board memory provides exceptional versatility and expansion. The EncorePro Software tracks therapy effectiveness via reports. Weekly breakdown of data and information on a breath by breath basis is provided via the patient flow and event report.
